Several European leaders among which the president of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy and the head of EU diplomacy Catherine Ashton are touring several Latinamerican countries with the purpose of strengthening relations with a region in full development but which lately has been increasingly focused on China. If South & Central America can manipulate affairs such that there is an approximately equal division of economic and trade interraction with North America, the EU, and China this should best serve S.A.'s interests.

Just as importantly, S.A. should avoid at all costs lodging all its debt with China.

That very accurately sums the EU up as far as I am concerned.
