Prince Harry, known as Captain Wales in the British military, has departed Afghanistan with his squadron after a successful tour as an Apache pilot. He operated as part of the Joint Aviation Group which provides helicopter support to the International Security Assistance Force and Afghan forces operating throughout Regional Command (South West) in Helmand province. a true crusader against the evil tyranny and oppression of an entity that practices a barbaric cruel outdated backward belief.
Jan 23rd, 2013 - 10:46 am - Link - Report abuse 0great success!!! [borat voice]
It is notoriously difficult to become an Apache pilot, and not everyone makes the grade, that alone makes him stand out above his peers.
Jan 23rd, 2013 - 10:49 am - Link - Report abuse 0He's done a good job out there in support ISAF and Afghan forces. He deserves a good spot of leave before going off to train with 16 Air Assault Bde, who are (I understand) currently the UKs high readiness force.
Will they be going to Mali to support the French, train in the UK or will they be going to the Falklands to 'train' and p!ss of CFK?
Oh no, the UK has sent another Prince out, and this one is armed with a weapon of mass destruction - an Apache instead of an unarmed Search and Rescue helicoptor!! ARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!! Run for cover!!!!

Any chance we will be seeing a photo of MAXIIMO KIRCHNER flying a reinforced Hand Glider anytime soon??
Jan 23rd, 2013 - 02:04 pm - Link - Report abuse 0It's a hanG glider and they aren't designed for fatties so I doubt we'll enjoy seeing him fall off a cliff any time soon.
Jan 23rd, 2013 - 02:16 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@2 - agreed. Great guy doing great things for Queen and country and the free world who wants to judged on that, not by invasive media hype, and prying camera eyes. Fantastic interview with Capt Wales on Sky recently; speaks like it should be said. Hopefully he will make it to the Falklands one day; he would be hugely welcomed, either in uniform or without.

I know that the forces call it Rest and Recuperation but I read somewhere that the soldiers had started calling it Intoxication and Intercourse.

There was a piece about a Taliban spokesman incensed that Harry should refer to taking tali's out of the game, and later talk about playing on a playstation.
Jan 23rd, 2013 - 08:55 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Makes me larf; medieval tw*ts who shoot schoolgirls in the head, execute women for adultery, deny women education and beat men for not having long enough beards playing the morally indignant. Pure cretinry of the highest order.
Remember you didnt win the war after 10 years of colonization. You are going to withdraw.
Jan 23rd, 2013 - 10:24 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Second his comments shows the no comprehension of the complex situation of this conflict at all. On the contrary for him its a game or video game between good and bad boys.
And 24 in USA the violence of talibans against women its not resolved with foreign invasions, must be education and justice of afghans, and may last years.
More violence brings more violence, reinforces and makes more terrorists, that for you means more business, becuase you make too much business with the selling of arms.
How many women are killed abused in USA every day?? Or have you killed in Afghanistan in what you call colateral damage?? The solution is no better than the problem.
@25
Jan 23rd, 2013 - 10:49 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Conflict affects people in different ways, he probably has had to kill people and that would take a toll on any man. Not every soldier gets a microphone shoved at them when they are dealing with their thoughts and feeling after conflict.
He doesm't have to do what he does, he could quite easily live a life of luxury and not lift a finger, but he has chosen to fight for his country. I'm quite proud of him actually and he is truly loved in the UK.
You lot (Argentina) do nothing for nobody but yourselves, they would be still stoning women to death in stadiums and beheading people in Afghanistan if you had anything to do with it. Still you are allies of Syria and Iran, so its to be expected and you are truly at the bottom of the world barrell.
@malen (#) If you take a look at yahoo Argentina there is a report of your Queen Cristina arriving home from her vaction,Argentines are reporting how many murders there have been while she as been away no Argentine on Yahoo have a good word to say about your Botox Queen Crissy Kirchner-here take a look

Jan 24th, 2013 - 01:57 am - Link - Report abuse 0but when is he going to learn to act like a man of his age in Las Vegas instead of playing children games?
@28 - big man (?!?)
Jan 24th, 2013 - 06:36 am - Link - Report abuse 0I believe he was acting his age in Vegas, just like thousands of other young people, he was having some fun. This added to the fact that he was about to deploy to one of the most dangerous places on earth, would see his behaviour being quite normal in the eyes of most sensible people. Plus he was in the privacy of his hotel room when this incident took place, not running stark naked down the strip, but someone took advantage to take these photos: for one reason only, to make money.
You see military personnel always have a bit of fun before deploying to somewhere from where they may never return. In fact, some would say that his behaviour in Vegas was quite tame compared to what most British squaddies would've done.

Well said Lep. He's a soldier not a Quaker!

Jan 24th, 2013 - 12:47 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Too true.
I used to serve with a Quaker in the RAMC. Not many of them join up. Of course as soon as we found out his religion he was forever known as 'Oatsy'!
Good guy, and a damned good medic. Plus he always did shark watch and designated driver as he didn't drink. Every unit should have an Oatsy!
We had several born agains, who used to do the same, The guys had no probs with them apart from endlessly trying to get you to convert. Then one day, having returned from patrol one of the guys found that one of them had stashed his ammo. His weapon and mags were empty, he had been doing it for months. He said it was because of gods commandment. Well needless to say, he was quickly discharged, no court martial, just an Administrative discharge.
Jan 24th, 2013 - 01:09 pm - Link - Report abuse 0We saw it as a betrayal of trust, no one was forcing him to be in the mob, he could have left on religious grounds at any time.
Funny thing though, before he was reborn, he was the biggest boozer, smoker and shagger on the squadron!
We had one or two aswell, - Really funny when one of them had a 'relapse' back in to his old ways one time, and ended up pished out of his mind as was arrested by the monkeys - You should have heard the obcenities he was screaming. Must have been all that years of suppresing his own charecter as a 'born again' christian i suppose.....

No, just Sussie. He has an obsession with Harry. :-)
Amusing, in a way, I suppose.
I never use to drink, smoke, swear or hang around with ladies. I regularly went to church and never missed a single needle point lesson. My flower arranging was the envy of my unit and I made the best iced tea and cucumber sandwiches, crusts cut off of course. The secret is in the water cress garnish you know.
Jan 25th, 2013 - 08:38 am - Link - Report abuse 0'Beaches' (with Bet Middler) was my Regiments favourite film, - We all used to sit watching it over and over again with our boxes of kleenex at the weekends.

Jan 25th, 2013 - 02:44 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Oh the good old days, when you'd get up a 4 am, have a light breakfast of museli, the set off for the the Interservice Flower Arranging competition - held every year at Twickenham. Of course on the way down we only drank iced tea, and sang hymns. We clapped politely during the competition when we scored a point, and gave a hearty 'well-done' if the otherside scored.
Afterwards we'd fall into the regimental tents for a hard earned few pints of iced-tea and a few cucumber banjo's. Then we'd get back on the coach with a few crates of iced-tea and sing more hymns. ;)
Thanks guys,
