Princess Mary, the Australian born future queen of Denmark has done a lot to increase the ties between our countries.
You obviously don't know Australia so really shouldn't speak on its behalf. Republicanism is continually declining in popularity. Either way there's a good chance the throne may go directly to William.

Australia Canada or any other country that Queen Elizabeth is head of state are FREE to decide there own future and destiny ANYTIME they wish by way of referendum even The Queen states this herself as below.
In 1999, a referendum was held to decide whether Australia would remain a constitutional monarchy or become a republic headed by a president. A majority of voters expressed a preference to retain the monarchy.
In the following year, during a visit to Australia, The Queen reaffirmed her pledge to serve as The Queen of Australia for as long as Australians want her: I have always made it clear that the future of the monarchy in Australia is an issue for you, the Australian people, and you alone, to decide by democratic and constitutional means. It should not be otherwise.
For some reason these Argentine idiots talk as though The British are holding these countrys against there will, unlike Argentina these people are free to determine there own futures SELF DETERMINATION either by a constitutional monarchy or by becoming a republic it is up to them.

The document shows a consistent trend backed by govt obtained numbers.
The 99 referendum was lost due to a split among republicans, over which model to adopt.
The trend will have continued no doubt. Steep rises and dips over the decades, but the 50 yes 50!!!! year trend is *consistent*.
One direction *over 50 years*.
With *45%* pro-republic, with a republican split, over *10 years ago*.

@59 If it was the will of the people to change to a republic in the UK, you would expect one or more of the major parties putting this forward in the same way that our membership of the EU is a hot potatoJan 29th, 2013 - 09:32 pm - Link - Report abuse 0
As far as I am aware no major (or for that matter even minor) party is campaigning for a change to the status quo. even Alex Salmond has promised that Scotland would remain a constitutional monarchy even if Scotland votes to break away from the UK in the forthcoming referendum.
The reason for this, of course, is that the monarchy's role is now largely symbolic but it also puts checks and balances in place against government excess or in cases where a viable government cannot be formed (as happened in Australia and as could have happened after the 2010 UK election where a government took several days to form).
The monarchy aren't stupid, they know they only have their position as a result of popular consensus. If that ever changed, they would be out on their ears in very short order. Before people ask, there has been no referendum on the monarchy because no-one has asked for one.
I doubt it will be long before she is running up debts and refusing to pay them back, then appointing a royal plastic surgeon and setting up protectionist measures in favour of Edam and having royal pot an pan parades.Jan 29th, 2013 - 09:45 pm - Link - Report abuse 0

Oh dear oh dear Dany, your blissful ignorance is shining through again. Since 1603 and consolidated in 1707 by the Act of Union, NO separate English crown is subjugating the rest of the country. She is Queen of the UNITED KINGDOM and N.IRELAND. Note the word UNITED.
As for the Commonwealth countries, they can decide whether or not to become republics - they are allowed to vote on this without any veto from the UK. The UK could also get rid of the monarchy if they so wished.
To remove your queen would require dynamite, which may not be long in coming.
Your modesty becomes you...but you and your country have a lot to be modest about....if you wish to comment on the grammar of the last statement I will change it from a colloquialism to ” about which you and your country have a lot to be modest.

All monarchies have a republican streak we aren't any different.
Tobias, not all Aborigines (capitalised) do not support the monarchy. They are free from repression to speak their mind. We don't run away from what we did to them in our past. We don't blame another country. Indeed, do we treat them worse than Argentina treats her aboriginals?
DanyBerger, you obviously missed how many countries declared independence from the UK in the past 60 years. Doesn't seem to be that difficult after all.
Don't mistake Australia's difficult referendum process for any other country's. You obviously don't know anything about our political system. There is a reason we made referenda difficult to pass. Our states our sovereign entities. Unlike many other federations, they have an international legal identity and sovereignty. It has been argued that each Australian state as a successor state to a colony has its own queen. Meaning there may be a Queen of Victoria!
Either way, as one if the world's oldest continuing democracies you have to little to argue with when it comes to our ability to show self determination. After all, we are the original self-determiners.
The first country formed by a vote!
Your rebuttals will be replied to after work. Only four weeks till I'm a full-time student again so gotta go and earn some money.

Although I can't see having the oppositions low point being 45% as something to shout about.
Unfortunately I had to use that 15 yr dated pic as I couldn't find anything else as concise that gave such a good overall picture of the game.
You might have noticed that the numbers are quite erratic, 1988 at around 20% support pro republic ...and then 1995 at around 65% !!!
(less than a decade for a 45% difference....add the nature of these numbers to the fact that the republicans only have to get lucky once..uh oh)
Regardless, I expect you see the trend, even with jittery numbers around the early and late 90's, i can only estimate the steady overall upward creep has continued, as per the previous half century.
Oh btw...this might change things just a lil
Indians , Chinese, Vietnamese - not noted for their pro-monarchy views.

There are lots of things of which you have not heard or understand: you prove this on a daily basis.
The clue is in her official title !!!!
She is not only Queen of England, but also Scotland, Wales - note the spelling -and N. Ireland, under one country called the United Kingdom. With your limited thought processes I realise that this may be hard to grasp as you would have to count to four.
The present Sovereign's full style and title is Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith.

And your freedom is pretty new until 1993 law dictated in England applied to Wales as well.
“Las pelotas” Can you see I also can speak Welsh but from the Argie Patagonia.
Pelotudo! From ancient patagonian welsh “Pelotudoomdun”
This is what we call province or state. An independent state that joint the union and all province have a representatives in national congress.
I have been in cardiff, conwy from north to south of wallis. If I bad don’t remember I was in a castle where resided Henry the VIII BTW he had a lot of wife. Didn’t he?
Why in walis language all sounds doom loom lampadumnu and stuff like that?
Do you want to learn more welsh from Patagonia?
I guess there are more in Argentina than in Walis.
If you not count the sheep of course.
Dunny seems to have an abcession with Welsh sheep again. Dunny, didnt I tell ewe that your choice of lady friends is your own affair?Jan 31st, 2013 - 03:18 pm - Link - Report abuse 0

Well now denying the existence of the poor sheep.
Don't they have right to Self-D also?
Sure if you allow them to vote they will do a better job than you.
Apart from a moron like you, who says I am ruled by the English.Jan 31st, 2013 - 05:25 pm - Link - Report abuse 0
Yes, I have been in Wales many times.
Why are you talking about Wales to me ? I don't live there and what is your fixation about sheep...don't you have girl friend ?
I think you are suffering from some sort of mental disorder or you are on drugs. That can be the only explanation of your series of bizarre postings.

Who cares whose face is on the banknotes.
They are good solid currency, not like the Pesos that you use.
Whats the exchange rate now? P,10-to-$1USD?
Goingggggggggg down, down, down!
You have my sympathy, Daniel.
btw- lots of countries drive on the left.
Argentina drove on the left until 1945.
Maybe thats why you malvinistas are confused?
Still living in the past & your brain goes into overload when you see motor traffic approaching you on the opposite side of the road?
Calm down mate, you'll be ok after March when your silly country is well & truly snookered & you finally realise that for you its Finito La Musica.

Here we go again having to correct you. This is getting tedious.
She is the Queen of the UK. of Gt. Britain and N.Ireland
When the Queen is in England, she lives in Buckingham palace. When she visits Scotland THEN she lives in her official residence at HOLYROOD PALACE as the Queen of Scotland whilst still being the Queen of the UK
How perceptive of you to know she was born in England to a Scottish mother. Your point being ?
Yes I speak English but also lallans.
Americans also speak English as there main language, does this mean that they are ruled by the Queen.
Argentinians speak Spanish. King Juan Carlos is the King of Spain. By your logic, he must also be the King of Argentina.
As a citizen of the UK, I drive on the left. Your point being?
I use the pound sterling like all UK citizens. Again, your point being. The pound coin has a picture of the Queen of the UK...NO REFERENCE IS MADE TO ANY COUNTRY
As to the banknotes.
I checked in my wallet
£5 note. Obverse side .. Sir Walter Scott/reverse
Brig o'Doon. No picture of the Queen.
£10 A picture of Lord Ilay/reverse. Glamis castle home of the late Queen mother. The most recent note has pictures of the Queen celebrating her diamond jubilee.
I happen to be Scottish by birth. If I was born in England, Wales or N. Ireland it would have made no difference to who I am.
So Dany, who are you a German or an Argentinian - I would say the latter as all the Germans I have met have been thoroughly nice people. I could even say the same of the few Argentinians I have met. However, coming on to this forum there are definitely some unpleasant fascists still around in your country.
As to currency with Alibaba on it, that certainly suits Argentina to a T. I believe that is what the Iraqis call thieves.
Maybe you should ask your large Muslim population in BA to intercede with the Arabs to bolster your worthless currency by printing Alibaba notes for you.

Cara mia, la musica poi essere finita ma purtroppo per te sempre ce qualquno che fa sonare la viola.
Cio bella. Ha ha
“Americans also speak English as there main language, does this mean that they are ruled by the Queen.”
No sure mate that Americans speak English at all otherwise Spanglish.
Wasap Bro are U gonna chequear where to parquear the carrro?
Sounds that English?
But you keep trying to explain how you are not ruled by the English elite from London, because is very funny.
“Argentinians speak Spanish. King Juan Carlos is the King of Spain. By your logic, he must also be the King of Argentina.”
First at all K.J.C is the head of the state of little Spain, and the Head of the state of Argentina is Queen Elizabet Cristina Kirchner the one. And she speaks glamorous and perfect Argentino with posh accent and also lunfardo.
Juanca the king of little spain dosn’t speaks spanish for argies else Gallego Bruto, you know...
“Dame algunas zervezas y te digo que te cayies, cabron.” Ha ha
“So Dany, who are you a German or an Argentinian - I would say the latter as all the Germans I have met have been thoroughly nice people”
If you like I’m Bolivian and the son of the Evo Morales, what that change?
You still are ruled by the English like always will be, eat kebabs and use pyjamas and have bad whether.
