A dead man walking.....that´s all...!!! The Venezuelan socialist ruling the country are trying to keep the Gvt. as long as they can before a new election because they haven´t a replacement leader with potential enough to win a free and fair political campaign for the office.....They know that the next president will be Capriles and the whole made up circus they have will fall hard and deep....for the Venezuelans welfare.

Yes and add to that Chavez refused to meet with CFK and Morales as he was too ill but is apparently holding meetings up to 5 hours long giving instructions on running the country. Honest.

IF, repeat IF, Chavez is still alive and in Caracas' military hospital, why can't members of the opposition go and look through the doorway to his room. It can't hurt can it? Not if two of his daughters can be at his bedside. Just as a thought, if he's suffering from a “respiratory deficiency”, why aren't his daughters in surgical gowns and masks?

The papers say he is dying,
They say, he is alive and well,

Do they have something to hide?
The answer will soon be revealed,

Will they present him in a glass box like Stalin and Evita,
And pretend he is really a sleeping prince awaiting a princess to wake him up in paradise,

Trouble is CFK is still alive,
    Lolol.

He is dead......already away and rotting. The government just refuses to pass power to someone else and that is criminal. How stupid is stupid like a Venezuelan that actually believes he is still alive, let along that the majority believe he will pull through this and back in office this summer....really now !
Look up stupid in the dictionary:

    stu·pid [stoo-pid, styoo‐] Show IPA adjective, stu·pid·er, stu·pid·est, noun
    adjective
    1. Someone from Venezuela
2.lacking ordinary quickness and keenness of mind; dull.
3.characterized by or proceeding from mental dullness; foolish; senseless: a stupid question.
4.tediously dull, especially due to lack of meaning or sense; inane; pointless: a stupid party.
5.annoying or irritating; troublesome: Turn off that stupid radio.
6.in a state of stupor; stupefied: stupid from fatigue.

Anyone have the address of the Venezuelan government, in particular the VP? I am mailing them the DVD Weekend at Bernie's. A little ice and makeup they can put a crutch up his ass, like he did to his people and parade my favorite corpse around the idiots that love him and believe he is alive. Funny no one is allowed to see him anymore. Think they threatened the lives of his kin if they let the secret out he's a chubbycicle?

We can prove he is dead far more easier than you can prove he is alive you idiot. People don't live from his kind of cancer. Next you will have his ressurection, walking on water and splitting the Caribbean sea. Get over it. He is dead and past the stink stage. He has my formaldahyde in him that a lab. The is less varnish on the gunwales of the Libertad than on his skin. Dead....you know....not breathing. Only the government wishes to carry on with illegitimate power so they hid the fact he is dead. When they find a candidate they can control and beat capriles, then they will announce his death.
For you whom believe he is a live, please provide some proof! Explain why no leader from any SA country can visit him?????????? That alone is beyond suspicious.

    17, you're confusing 2 things.

You want him to be dead.

But the fact is that Chavez is not dead.

You can keep dreaming but you don't have the slightest evidence that he is dead.

Honestly I don't think they would be able to hide the truth for so long.

So, just keep dreaming but don't feed me your BS.

Who cares if you think is dead. You're just wishful thinking.

I could care as much if he is dead or alive. For if by chance he is alive, despite the fact that no one can see him, including the people of Oz, opps, I mean Venezuela, they have not seen him in nearly three months. Closely aligned heads of state have not seen him either.
The fact remains when he did not attend his inauguration in January, new elections should have been held. But the ruling Junta refused to yield authority democratically to political philosophies in contrast to the Junta. Democracy is a farcical concept at best in Oz the great wizard chubby chavo is dead.

But where's the evidence that he is dead? I don't see any so the claims that he is dead are baseless. Sorry but that's the truth. You can't spin that. It doesn't matter if you want Chavez dead. What you want is not the same as the truth. And you have a rulling by the STJ that allows Chavez to be inaugurated later so I don't understand what's the issue.

You'd think an important duty of the president of a nation would be to prove to its people that he's alive. Makes rather more sense than vanishing leaving everyone unable to prove even that fact. Either way it's irrelevant. He'll never be able to rule Venezuela again - the people are just left to guess when they will be able to invoke their democratic right to choose who will.

Though if he is dead, it bode's better for a downfall of Kirchner and that is good for my friends in Argentina.

@35 He is not recovering. He went home to Venezuela to die because nothing else can be done for him. There is no cure. Chavez has chosen his successor. It is not wishful thinking but just the reality.

The only issue here now is that clearly he is so incapacitated that he is NOT running the country, as he was elected to do. He should, therefore, allow new elections. That would be fair and democratic.

    Feeble try Oli.

Even the official opposition in the Venezuela government, is demanding that current administration verify that Chavez is alive, if not well.

With every passing day, there is more anger and suspicion from the people of Venezuela.

More and more criticism, but they cannot produce him, even in a hospital bed.

With things sp precarious, if he were alive it would be logical to defuse the whole situation by producing him, or allowing a member of the opposition, or a trusted citizen to personally observe his still breathing, or better yet, speaking personage.

Oli is a classic example of the 60% that believe Chavez can walk on water. It was funny seeing him say the fact is and yet he never produced any, like the government. I even read that in the past few days there was odd military movement and that they are growing wary of the government. I think things will come to a head in the next week or so.

They wouldn't allow 'blabber mouth' CFK to visit Cadavez in hospital in Habana, even though he was reportedly handwriting a letter and pages of advice to his government.

CFK hasn't tried again since. Why?

Wouldn't it be ironic if, as things get hot with her own public, she were to fly to Venezuela, ostensibly to be by Cadavez' bedside, only to get caught up in a coup in Caracas??

Olibeira - there is only guessing on both sides of opinion re the state of health of Chávez. There is no proof he remains alive but equally there is no proof that he is dead.

The problem is caused by the Cuban and Venezuelan authorities not being transparent. They are running around like headless chickens because they don't know how to deal with the scenario as Chávez is what holds everything together in Venezuela - his charisma, alive or dead, is what the people respect, right or wrong!

I do not believe he will ever be capable of ruling the nation again and his aides have no idea what to do!

    Let me be clear.

When you go to a trial you're accused of something but it's the prossecution job to prove that you did what they are saying you did.

The fact is that you can't prove anything.

    You're just wishful thinking.

I can only conclude that Captain Poppy is stupid because he can't even grasp simple logical statements.

    You should study harder.

  • Captain Poppy

You have no clue what logic is. We are not talking Chavez logic. ANd since when did dictators of South America have to prove anything ?

    Fact: Chavez has incurable cancer
Fact: Chavez as not been seen since before December 11th
Fact: Chavez did not make his inauguration in January
Fact: Chavez is not addressed his health issues to the public to dispel rumors
Fact: His closest allies, Killer Kirchner and Evil Evo have not seen him
Fact: The ruling regime stands to lose power when Chubby Chavo dies
Fact: The ruling regime has not been TRANSPARENT in handling chubbies cancer

You have yet to produce any facts. You're like a caveman throwing sticks at artillary. The best you offer is name calling because you have no supporting facts!!!
Even after he dies, the opposition will have much work to do to find a candidate to appeal to Venezuela's poor majority; and even if an opposition candidate prevails, a new government will face an epic task to undo Chávez's damage -- soaring levels of corruption, crime, and dysfunctional governance. Venezuela's state oil company, critical to government revenues, is a shadow of itself thanks to Chávez's mismanagement. Assuming you life there, you hardly know any better.

“When you go to a trial you're accused of something but it's the prossecution job to prove that you did what they are saying you did.”

Oli-troll, this is not a criminal trial for murder, where they must prove “beyond doubt”.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NCY61IO5jM

Cuba has a vested interest in maintaining illusion that Chavez is alive - they need the oil and the trade from Venezuela - Chavez was a great ally. However , his successor might not be.

Obviously, now they need to distance themselves, though. They cannot be implicated in a plot to deceive the Venezuelan people.
Therefore, once there was no more hope for Chavez, they had to send him home.

Same for Chavez' government - once the leader of the cult is dead, nobody will follow the rest of his administration - everyone was made to feel a personal bond of allegiance to Chavez the person, not the government.

His Ministers will all lose their jobs and their business connections when the government changes. They want to hang on until there is a suitable replacement (appointed by 'Chavez' perhaps?)

With Chavez dead, there is great uncertainty, fear even.

One thing is for certain, Chavez is NOT running the country. He is in no condition.

As Poppy said, he has terminal cancer - he WILL die from this cancer very soon, if he is not ALREADY DEAD.

Sorry, I know you are scared and do not want to hear that.

Best of luck to the people of Venezuela.

If Cadavez is to rule a country - the onus is on his government to produce him and prove that he is alive.

Cadavez is the one elected - if he is not there, or proven to be away temporarily, then an unknown, unelected, secret ruler is in power.

The government must dissolve and have another election.
