The Argentine Congress in extraordinary sessions held on Wednesday in both Houses unanimously rejected the Falkland Islands referendum in which the local population overwhelmingly decided to remain as a British Overseas Territory. Read full article
Ha ha ha ha.... It all descended into a comedy spat towards the end with the new antichrist and a long dead dictator vying for attention.
Argentine parliament - great substitute for a circus! You couldn't make it up!
UN records indicate that “it excludes any principle of self-determination” in the case.
Lol they keep saying that, but in the real reality on the planet called earth, UN states the opposite as it is a universal right off all people. the islanders a people and as a group are classed as peoples.
“The excuse of the 1982 conflict can’t be used to deny negotiations with Argentina”, said Filmus who then warned that the UK plans to project its occupation of the Falklands onto the Antarctica territory, which boils down to “an aggression for the entire region”.
That's funny. The excuse of a conflict started by argieland. WE deny negotiations with Argentina because argieland, and particularly the argie government, is replete with cheats, liars and thieves. And they aren't trustworthy either.
the UK plans to project its occupation of the Falklands onto the Antarctica territory. Would that be the part called the British Antarctic Territory? The part of Antarctica that argieland tried to steal while the UK was fighting a global war that argieland didn't have the guts to take part in. Especially as its pal Hitler had assured it that the UK was going to lose the war. The war that Germany started. What is it about these addled and ignorant buffoons that makes them hang on to positions long after reason has departed? What is it that gets put into their food and water that destroys any brain” that they might once have had?
So it looks like we are going to have to kick them out of Antarctica. Just as we kicked them off the Falklands. When shall we go for it? 2021? Is the clock ticking?
It's quite interesting to sometimes watch these folk who are in denial lie consistently about the reality of the situation.
Some will undoubtedly be career politicians who most likely think its farcical but have to perpetuate the lie as to do anything else could be bad for their careers. They could only do otherwise if they were very high up the political food chain as to take another stance could stop their progression.
Who's going to be brave enough to speak the truth?
Rejection matter of opinion and UN global public. In their statements have said that they have no legal value.
The sovereignty dispute remains.
The Argentine Congress with unaminidad in all political forces have rejected.
The people of Argentina as a whole has rejected.
See the following link: Unilateral action illegitimate
The people of Argentina as a whole can reject whatever they like, but since they don't own or live on the Islands it has absolutely nothing to do with them.
I remember a short time ago when the Argies were saying that big bad colonial power Britain was subjugating a tiny island population against it's wishes
All the Argies believed this because they never got to hear from the Falklanders themselves
Well how things have changed!!! Now both houses of Parliament are debating this ´meaningless referendum´& the whole of Argentina & much of the world now know of the islanders´wishes ..............stroke of genius!!!
It's very funny that Raul thinking because Argentina rejects the vote it means something.
Argentina has never owned the island nor has it ever ruled the islands save for a few weeks and a illegal invasion where it also violated UN resolutions (something the UK has never done).
Argentina has zero power and zero influence so feel free to reject some more because your opinion also counts for ZERO!
I remember some time ago when people in the UK thought Las Malvinas were somewhere near...Scotland LMAO.

Benson,
I live in the Falklands and would be surprised if the Falklands 3 were any of our resident Argentinians. They have chosen to integrate into our community, they pull their weight and (with no wish to patronise them) I believe they are well aware of the benefits of living here. I would attribute the 3 no votes to enthusiasm for independence, which most of us feel is a possibility for the future but not for now.

The Falkland Islands belong to the Falkland Islands always have always will. The UK government will not enter into any dialogue without the Islanders involvement. When and if that dialogue takes place, there will be no negotiations on sovereignty without the consent of the islanders
This has consistently been the UK governments position and nothing is going to change.

since they are “settlers implanted in the Malvinas Islands
And most Argentinians are European settlers implanted in Argentina.
So?
that UN records indicate that “it excludes any principle of self-determination” in the case.
Where does it excluse SD ? In what records? Somebody has yet to point us to these.
illegitimate action, contrary to what is established in the UN resolutions, ”
The UN resolutions say that Independance should be taken into account, that the negotiations must refer tothe UN charter and that the interests of the population (the resolutions do not mention the interests of the Argentines) must be taken into account. The referendum was correct (it was not fixed -no bribes), and is in the interests of the Islanders (the population). So it cannot break the resolutions.
Try reading the resolutions, Filmus.
the only thing new we know is that there are three inhabitants in the Islands who do not agree” with British sovereignty.
Don't hold your breath Clingfilm, how do you know those 3 didn't vote for independence? (They would have to vote no).
The excuse of the 1982 conflict can’t be used to deny negotiations with Argentina
Technically it can. The invasion broke resolution 2065.
Also the small matter of unmarked mines, napalm and bullying the islanders would not find favour with the UN.
Try again Clingfilm, and next time actually read what it says in the resolutions and the UN charter, (if you are capable).

So?
that UN records indicate that “it excludes any principle of self-determination” in the case.
Try again Clingfilm, and next time actually read what it says in the resolutions and the UN charter, (if you are capable).
ha ha these guys are funny!
Mar 17th, 2013 - 03:28 pm - Link - Report abuse 0What, not a single dissident in the Argentine parliament? Makes one wonder, doesn't it? I mean, there were three in the Falklands.
