A free election with the usual rough and tumble of a normal , democratic election . A good TV debate on Sunday with the four main candidates answering a series of questions . It was most interesting . I still do not understand why the other members of Mercosur keep on about luck of democracy here . Luckily the important countries of the world -- USA , Germany , UK , France , Italy , Vatican , Chile , Colombia and more accept the democratic credentials of Paraguay .
