    No surprise but the timing! Earlier than I (and many others) expected.
    That is before the court of appeals' decision: good! One less opportunity left to Argentina to drag her feet in US courts postponing her own decision on a new, self-inflicted default.

    I expect the CDS for Argentine exchange bonds to spike tomorrow: the CDS price is already high and I wouldn't be surprise by a new high record before the Friday deadline.

    And that's why they're moving their money out of NY banks, why they just limited stock purchases outside tge country.
    They're gettin ready.
    They're #3 on Crisis Watch after Greece, Cyprus, and they don't even have the help of the EU, or the humanitarian aid

    @4 nigelpwsmith
    I am laughing indeed.
    I knew that the Wizard of Oz was a man from Omaha, Nebraska, and I believed that his real name were Warren E. Buffett LOL ... now, thank you Wikipedia, I understand that it is Oscar Zoroaster Phadrig Isaac Norman Henkel Emmannuel Ambroise Diggs.
    But as long as he going to kill the Black Wicked Witch I am fine with Paul Singer renamed the Wizard of Oz.

    @5 Ayayay
    I'm delighted by your nickname ... sounding nicely in my head when thinking of the Ladriprogresistas dealing with the mess down there, quickly getting worse.
    Sadly here in the E.U. available resources for humanitarian aid are scarce ... we have our own idiotic and masochistic crisis to mitigate ... none left for Argentine crisis this time, sooooooo sorry ;-)

    @7,4 So, judging from the recent hollywood flick 'Oz the Great and Powerful' in Oz, Oz would consist of:
    Mila Kunis (jewish) - Theodora
    Rachel Weiss (jewish) - Evanora
    James Franco (jewish) - The Wizard of Oz
    Zach Braff (jewish) - Finley
    Paul Singer (jewish) - Banking Financier

    Are you suggesting that Hector Trimmerman would fit in there too? Is the capital of Oz really Tel Aviv?

    @10

    Only to those who are anti-semitic.

    What are you getting at?

    Mila Kunis is Ukrainian American. She was born Jewish but by self admission is not a practising Jew.

    Rachel Weisz is British. Her parents were Hungarian & Austrian. Her father was Jewish, but her mother was catholic & converted.

    James Franco is American. His parents were Portuguese & Russian, his mother is Jewish.

    Zach Braff is American. Both his parents are Conservative Jewish, but his mother converted to it.

    Paul Singer is American. He grew up in a Jewish family.

    Are you a member of our tribe?

    @11 What precisely is anti-semitic about listing the major cast members of a major hollywood movie in a trending exercise to show the religious fit of an additional member in a fictional land?

    You yourself show that only jewish people are privileged enough to have a principle role in the government of Oz and as a gentile, i am not. Surely this prejudicial decision of lack of access to this fictional land based purely upon my faith, is a true show racism and not my simple observation of that fact.

    Anyway, back to the article. Because it's a good one. What will the next happy chapter bring? Will Tinpotman turn up to produce some meaningless, lying drivel? How about CFK herself to look pathetic? I thought argieland was in the midst of CFK's economic miracle model. As far as “being forced to make full payouts on the bonds could strain the country's finances and force a new debt default”, so what? Just shows you shouldn't go borrowing money and intending to steal it!

  • nigelpwsmith

    Tinman (another Oz reference!) won't touch this. Some American lawyers will do their best to delay it further (after all it should have been sorted in December), but Argentina will have to stump up the money for NML and the other holdouts.

    The Wicked Witch won't touch it either. She's already stated that the funds won't get paid and that puts her at loggerheads with the US Judges & the Judges will win. It's egg on face time for CFK.

    It's not as if they don't have the money, they do, but CFK had already ear-marked it for her private piggy bank. So this will bring about her downfall a little sooner than we first thought.

    I cannot understand why so many people think there's some form of Zionist conspiracy, be it bankers or show-business. Mel Gibson found that one out the hard way!

    I always believe that if one has any prejudices (other than hating the Malvinistas!), it's probably better if you keep it to yourself rather than offend someone. As far as I'm concerned, anyone from South America who believes the Falklands are Argentine is fair game.

    @19 I agree. A “problem” to be resolved with a 7.62mm in the back of the neck. After all, who “needs” 41 million argies? 5 million would be more than enough. The “others” can walk across to Africa. Maybe as many as 10 might make it. Not that anyone would care. Depth-charging the “walkers” would be a good idea. But, is Tinpotman a Zionist? Kill him! Or just take his legs and pretend he's a wishbone?

    @18,19 So when precisely did I say there was some kind of conspiracy? All I ever said was that Israel (Zionists) provided a lot of weaponry to the Argentinians during the falklands war and afterwards. This is a simple matter of fact. Then I simply outlined that Paul Singer would fit well in a hollywood representation of Oz. The fact there are very few gentiles in american cinema and tv is a matter of fact and much amusement to everyone other than americans. There is no conspiracy as far as I can see. Therefore I cannot see how I am claiming such.

    As for athiests, well they're just boring nihilists. Get over it.

    @21 Shed-time
    “Nihilism is also a characteristic that has been ascribed to time periods: for example, Jean Baudrillard and others have called postmodernity a nihilistic epoch, and some Christian theologians and figures of religious authority have asserted that postmodernity and many aspects of modernity represent a rejection of theism, and that rejection of their theistic doctrine entails nihilism.”

    Good grief, aren't some Christian theologians and figures of religious authority full of it!

    You need to relax a little before that steel band you are wearing around your head causes trouble.

    Being a prick has nothing to with nationality and alot to do with the inherent narrow mindedness that is the basis of ideologism. Anyone who criticises Peronism whilst defending/bigging up Monarchism o theist religion etc is a hypocrite.

    @26 so you're suggesting that we all have no ideology nor system of beliefs? I'm not sure that's how humans work, unless we're all placed into a chemically induced vegetative state.

    You'd be correct insofar as humanity is hypocritical,flawed and causes wars and death. However, blaming it on religion, ideology, or anything else is just badly-targeted ignorance.

    I like the way you seem to place the ideology humanism outside of your list of 'bad things'. It's probably intentional, as if humanists aren't hypocritical (you are being) or narrow minded.

    Keep going.

    We all have ideas in isolation in order to best make sense of the world. Without 'idealism' we'd still have our egos,its insecurities and the basic instinct to survive. People would still do bad things to other people. But nowhere near to the level that is done through an unshifting belonging to a particular way of thinking and being that tells someone their fellow human beings are different and thus always a threat. Thats not something to downplay.

    @28 But “argies” are different. Although I'd hesitate to put them in the category “human beings”. Let's take some possibilities. Argieland is “supposedly, a Catholic ”country“. That means that their belief system should include the Commandments. Like ”Thou shalt not kill“, ”Though shalt not steal“, ”Thou shalt not bear false witness“, ”Thou shalt not covet............anything that belongs to your neighbour.“ You can translate those into ethics. Or philosophy. But ”argies“ believe in nothing except ”screw eyeryone else“. There is no sense in railing against religion. Nobody has ever been able to ”prove“ or ”disprove“ any of the ”faiths“. Therefore, keep an open mind. How many ”argies“ have you come across with an open mind? On this site, they have said ”the argentine population was expelled from the Islands in 1833“. People have come back and said ”No, only 4 of the population voluntarily left and here is the evidence“. A day or so later ”the argentine population was expelled from the Islands in 1833“. You just can't break through the Pavlonian conditioning. Most of the ”argies“ that get on here don't have a brain between them. Probably best to view ”argies” as conditioned pack or herd animals. Ring a bell and see them shuffle off to get milked!

    Oh Dear seems poor Argentina is not getting it's way again. You really do have a problem can't afford to pay your debts or your people yet you want more land. That is not the right way to get your house in order.

    Pity you upset the Islanders over the last 200 years because very soon they are going to become very rich from oil and had you been nice to them they may have even considered giving you a financial hand out at one time. Afraid they wont be doing that though now after the way you treated them.

    Going to be fun and sad watching your Country slip further into the hole of hell while we are rising up. It is the poorest in Argentina that is the saddest to watch.

    I think Argentina should not pay the Debt based on the theft by IMF and their corrupted contracts to theft argentina tax payers money, we want to see where this money went and we Argentines want to make sure this money wasn't used to buy weapons to kill Muslims in the middle east. We want to know where this money was used and who signed for it if they want us Argentine's to pay for it.
    http://www.gregpalast.com/the-globalizer-who-came-in-from-the-cold/
    Argentine's must be really stupid if they are going to pay to be robbed by the same people in just a few months through another credit for corrupt thieves. The joke is on them.

    The Canadian based troll is back! How is the freedom wonderfully comfortable life you live in the 1st world country of Canada?

    Seems we have gone through another troll cycle.

    The trolls come out swinging
    The trolls take and facial pounding and retreat
    They send in the half time show known as Sussie and thousands of other names
    Sussie gets banished on most everything she/he/it posts and is deleted
    The is a period of quiet the resides for a few days
    Piss Hunter and a few others take an insignificant jab here and there
    KFC makes some incoherent speech
    The Trolls feel rejuvenated
    They come back out swinging

    Thus the new cycle starts all over again. In the words of Yogi Berra.....“it's deja Vu all over again”
