Now that Argentina plays regularly with the former SANZAR powers, Argentina will just be another stop over in the June tests for the Northern Hemisphere to be massacred.

As it was even before the 4N Argentina regularly beat France, Scotland, Wales, etc at home. Now and in the next few years it will be beat down after beat down.

Look at Italy's improvement in the 6N and they are not 1/10 as talented in the sport, their team being basically Argie scrubs.

The Northern Hemisphere should cut their loses and quit touring the south, no need for further future embarassments.

Funny how that has never ever been a concern, even in the dictatorship. England has toured countless times in the last two centuries...

    Why now a threat?

Perhaps, Great Britain has been very unfriendly towards Argentina?

Sport is sport and politics is politics. Unfortunately, Argentina sending that hockey player to the Falklands just before the 2012 Olympics and making that juvenile film, amply demonstrates that they will use literally any international focus to further their bogus cause, even if, as it always does, brings them into disrepute.

    Toby,
I hope your Chinese is better than your knowledge of rugby.
I admire the Pumas greatly, although their performance in world cups is less than would be expected for a country of 40 million with a large rugby league.

It seems to me that Argentina's main achievement in the 4N was losing ALL their matches by not as much as one might have expected - not great for a country with a population greater than NZ, Australia and the Transvaal combined.
    ...
Back on topic: the rugby supporting population of Argentina must be one of the most Anglophile sections of Argie society. I am sure the UAR will make sure the England tour passes off without incident. I am also sure that England will want to repeat the result of the last UK team to tour Argentina - Scotland, who comprehensively demolished Argentina in both tests.

The home international rugby matches are more than just a football game, they are a sporting occasion! When I young we would hold a per match smokers do, travel to where ever the venue was, Twickenham, Murray field, Lansdowne Road, book in the hotel. Pre match drinks with other fans in bars and pubs, anticipating the result, then the match. Win or lose, post match drinks with opposition fans in bars all over the respective cities. Dissecting every try, penalty, tackle, scrum and so on. In short, a bloody good weekend, with no bother!

@40 Oh Toby you never seem to learn

“Australia has done nothing in world sport outside rugby codes and swimming. Don't be so cocky, it's the truth.”

    So just rugby and swimming?

Let's start with the Olympics shall we. 477 medals in total spanning every single summer and winter games. Only bettered by 11 other countries.

And Argentina? Down at 41st with 70 medals - behind even New Zealand. But then you don't always get to the games. I note you do much better in boxing than Australia, but only 5 medals for athletics. Quite pathetic compared to our 71!

    How did you put it?

“Athletics, never seen the Australians there. Always the Jamaicans, Africans, and the Americans”

Jamaica has only ever won 66 medals in athletics.

Argentina's grand total of 18 gold medals ever is almost the same as the 17 god medals we earned at a single Olympics.

Perhaps you should also take a look at Surfing, Netball, Squash, Triathlon and Field Hockey. Can't see Argentina anywhere while Australia wins again and again. Australian world champions everywhere I look.

Tennis anyone? You are probably too young and uneducated to know Roy Emerson, Ken Roswell and Rod Laver but let me help you - 31 Grand Slam Championships between them. Argentina's six is.... nice but absolutely abysmal compared to Australia's 80+.

I should congratulate Argentina on its 2 Soccer World Cups. We have none, but then again we invented our own football code which nearly 7 million people attended last year.

    Golf? Argentina's 3 men's majors championships compared to Australia's 15!

And we have managed to do all that with less than half Argentina's population.

Another name you probably haven't heard before: John Landy www.athletics.com.au/fanzone/hall_of_fame/john_landy

And I haven't even listed Black Caviar!

No one cares about the Olympics, only countries with insecurities about their nationalism care about doing well there. Thus why the communist dictatorships force people to hand over their entire lives just for the “honor of the fatherland” in two weeks.

And Western nations dope their athletes and basically destroy their lives as well by ruining their health, or their reputation. Or how many western athletes have been caught using drugs and their medals rescinded? And those are the ones that were caught (probably only 1 in 10 infractors are, this is admitted by the drug screening scientists).

Thank you everyone for being so predictable. Only little insecure societies brag about being good in such a corrupt and rotten industry like the Olympics.

The last London Olympics are relevant, not because of relative medal-counts, but because of the spirit of global friendship on the field and in the stands.

Rugby football is characterised by *perfect* behaviour by the spectators, we should expect - and can expect - no less during any rugby football tour in Argentina.
The pride of rugby football supporters is so great that any attempted disruption would result in *Argentinan* supporters 'taking apart' the disruptors.

The olympics are irrelevant. There is no global friendship. Look at the world for geez-sakes.

It's just what I said, a forum for insecure nations to feel a tad better about themselves. Even if it means destroying the lives of their citizens: by slavery like in the east and former communist block, by medical mutilation like the west, or by mortgaging the future generation with the massive debts of hosting the event.

Only nations that have no self-esteem would do any of the above to “show off” for about 14 days. Quite frankly pathetic.

The UK team never had any problems in Argentina, but those days are forever over. Not just for the UK, for the Spanish, the Italians, French, etc.

My Argentine next door neighbour proudly told me that his father was once a national coach for AR Rugby.

If the existing rugby people are like this man and his family there will be no trouble whatsoever with the proposed matches.

I agree with GeoffWard2 that the local rugby fans are more than capable of taking care of any pussies from Quebracho if they dare to start any trouble. In fact I would pay money to see that.

If you and your generation have a seething hatred of Europe then you should cut off ALL ties.
Invent your own language, stop all immigration from Europe, stop using any manufactured goods, raw materials produced or invented there, stop reading any literature, listening to any music, watching any films or TV programs. Withdraw all embassy staff, ban tourism, all mail and cut off all internet connections. Withdraw from the United Nations as you would probably have to acknowledge the existence of any European who spoke. Hand in your European passports as they would no longer be needed. Ban all flights and shipping from or passing through European waters.
    Become a N.Korean model state.
In other words, slide backwards into the abyss.
    Nobody would care.

You know why so many Australians have won “Grand slams”? Because for whatever reason someone decided to make the Australian open a Grand Slam. But for a great while the only people that even gave a FARK to participate where... AUSTRALIANS! hahahahaha.

So of course you won “grand slams”, but no one of any significance competed in them. When the true powers started going to the Australian open, it was all over for you.

You lost the greatest game of all. No points, no referees decisions, no replays, no second leg away, no trophy's.

You thought you could enter the greatest league of all and you were shown up for the amatuers you are. You thought that by threatening the Minor leagues around you, the major league players would not enter the tournament, simply because their squad had not played an international for some time.

Your coaches thought because their oppostion was female she packed the will. They thought the players would not travel and the supporters would not be there's

Your mistake has often been made, in many seasons by many managers, in many leagues.

A common mistake when you realise the game has always been played by your opposition, every season, all bar one. That your opposition always trains and will always play.

    Wrong!

“Athletics, never seen the Australians there.”
    Wrong!

You can't compete in cricket or the Olympics so you denigrate them and rule them out.

Due to your obvious youth and extreme lack of life experience you probably thought you were on strong ground when you stated this:

Australian Men's Singles Championships outside Australia

    Wimbledon:
First title: 1907 - first non British winner
Last title: 2002 - we beat Argentina

    Argentina = nothing.

    French Open:
    First title: 1933
    Last title: 1969
Champions 11 times - behind France and Spain
Argentina has won twice - 9 times less than Australia.

    US Open
    First title: 1951
    Last title: 2001
Champions 18 times - behind only the US.
Argentina has won twice - 11 times less than Australia.

“You haven't won it in 40 ferking YEARS! Guess what, we have won it twice more than that since. And checking the other open champions, Australia has pretty much vanished from the map.”

During the recent Olympic Games held in London all the sportsmen and sportswomen from Argentina were given a wonderful welcome in spite of the provocation of the hockey player incident and the permanent carping from La Kretina and Timermann. The matter of the Falklands/Malvinas was not mentioned at all.

If Quebracho, La Cámpora and other Malvinista organisations attempt to cause trouble over the presence of the English rugby team it will be totally counter productive and a pity for the game in Argentina.

And, of course, the rugby players will have no political/diplomatic powers at all.

The Americans and Europeans I meet only tell how there are basically no Argentines in their countries, they had only heard or read about the culture and the women and the country so they decided to visit. Compared to virtually all other nationalities, there are no Argentines in Europe and USA when a number to number comparison is made.

And those that maybe in Europe are not even Argentina. They are “bouncers”: people that left in the 70s and many probably are Italian, German, Spanish citizens. The very few Argentine I've heard talking about being from England online all claim to have British roots.

REAL Argentines would find it horrible to live in such desolate societies as yours or the USA. Which is why over 50% return within a year, and 3/4 do after 10 years. Why do you think there are several companies that just dedicate themselves to ship large belongings from Europe and the USA to Argentina... people can't wait to get out of those hellholes.

You almost have it. But think a bit deeper. The reason they left in the first place is because they could not hack it HERE, too much competition.

And no, most make it in your countries and in other Latin American countries. I have brought many times articles showing that Argentines consistently are up there with Asians in the USA as top non-national earners, in fact they make more money than the average AMERICAN. In Europe, Argentines are always more professionaly skilled than the nationals of Spain, France, and Germany. In Italy the average argentine employs more italians, than italians argentines in any average business.
All over Latin America from Mexico to Chile and everywher in between Argentines belong to the elites (in radio, television, surgeons, models, footballers, etc).

We are genetically superior, in beauty, in smarts, and we are better educated, and we have a more heart which you as a European and British will always lack.

When Argentines leave Argentina, the IQ level is raised both for the country that receives them, AND FOR ARGENTINA.

Firstly, you have finally said something I agree with. argentine living in Europe aren't Argentinian.

    Messi, Tevez, Aguerro....all not Argentine.

Anyway, on a more serious note. You are deluded.

Argentina is a third world country. Other than a football players (as established non-Argentine) nobody in Europe gives a shit about Argentina. On a global stage it is about as relevant as Burkina Faso, Bhutan or Laos.

The only two “news worthy” stories that ever come out of Argentina are Falklands related, and default related. Both should be a cause of shame and humiliation for Argentina..but your government seems to revel in them.

Your view is that Argentina is in someway superior to ANY other country is laughable.

We have already established that you couldn't list a single SOLITARY thing that ANY ARGENTINE has added to humanity. Not a SINGLE thing. And you have the trolling view that in someway that is comparable to the US, Europe or Australia...LMFAO.

Recalibrate, Nostril. Try Chad, Togo or Cambodia as comparable states to Argentina for lifestyle, development and living standard. Probably Zimbabwe or North Korea for government competence.
