The New York Times has introduced a new section called The Opinion Pages, Room for Debate and this week’s theme was “The Falkland Islands without Thatcher”. For that purpose it invited six opinions related to the issue. Read full article
What a golden opportunity for the Kelpers to show the world how grateful they are…..
And to restate, reiterate and reaffirm their Englishness, once again…..
Out with “ Port Stanley”; in with “Port Margaret”…
Out with “Falklands”; in with “Thatcher Islands”…
Just remember your reality is for everyone else nothing more than a fantasy hence the reason for your continued refusal to take this to the ICJ or anywhere else. The Argentine way is just to complain and complain some more knowing full well you've got not valid claim on the Island's.
You'll never wear us down, we are British and famed for our resolve.
'Should the archipelago be RETURNED to Argentina'
The wrong word to use ...
Returned...
1. To go or come back, as to an earlier condition or place.
2. To revert in speech, thought, or practice.
3. To revert to a former owner.
4. To answer or respond.
Argentina has never had sovereignty so they can not be returned!
Yes I saw the 'returned' word too, you have to consider it was taken from the New York Times, the US don't have a very good grasp of this situation, they also seem to have conveniently forgotten the founding principles of their own democracy on self-determination. And let us not forget Obama last year at the OAS referring to them as 'Las Maldives'.
It is always worthwhile building in an ignorance factor when the US has anything to contribute to the Falkland Islands debate.
We're still thinking about it, Think.
Whatever annoys you malvinistas the most is the one we'll use.
But we don't really need your advice, thank you very much.
One thing for sure. The so-called Malvinas do not exist. Malvinas is only a bad translation from the French malouines. A better translation into Spanish would be maluinas!
Now, let's be serious, Sancho Panza's Insula Barataria is as real as Argentina's
imaginary Malvinas. No more, no less.
Still, the UK MUST continue militarising the South Atlantic in order to deter
foreign banditry.

Following the death of world class politician St. Margaret of Finchley I have decided to rename Argentina. From today its new name in english is Thatchertina. Please use the correct new name from now on in your postings.

I was there for 4 months which is longer than any Argentinean, does this mean I can stake my claim? Port Knarfw has a certain ring to it.
