How long can it be till Argentina decides to start its own United Nations?

Of all the mistakes the C.F.K. administration has made this is the most serious, comparisons with North Korea are ridiculous but Argentina can now be compared to Belorussia .I pray the elections in October provide an opportunity to reverse this, without an independent judiciary investment will be very hard to come by!

#6 - could be... Timerman didn't realise the UN did other stuff than be a whinge shop for their failed land grab. They are shocked to find its not a one way street, take, take, take forum.

But they were “jump up and down” delighted when the Chair of the C24 Decollonization committee strayed from his mandate and gave a personal view (which they sponsored).

Timmerman and others have taken this “personal view” and dressed it up as a UN position.

Odd that they don't like a perfectly reasonable UN view that is against them.

Well, well well, the Argentine government that has tried to use and abuse the UN resolutions and and advice when it comes to the Falklands, suddenly finds itself on the receiving end of questions and a UN rebuke regarding how it runs its democratic institutions. I guess that the UN has now gone from N01 to No 10 in Hector's estimation. When are these clowns goning to wake up to themselves?

What I don't understand is why in the past the United Kingdom was willing to discuss the Falkland Islands with an un-democratic government but know that Argentina is a democracy (by which I mean descending into a failed state where opposition to the government is ruthlessly suppressed) it is unwilling to talk.

In the past we were prepared to discuss the sovereignty of the Sudentland with Adolf Hitler, (who by most accounts was a fairly nasty chap). Please feel free to google the “Munich Agreement”.

However, were Frau Merkel (who is generally a decent woman) to suggest that perhaps the Sudentland sovereignty be “put back on the table”, most of the decent world would shudder and be appalled.

Rico, it seems you have misunderstood quite a lot. The UK is willing to discuss anything with Argentina, with the sole proviso that it will only discuss sovereignty with islanders present. This is a democratic step too far for The representatives of the implanted population of Argentina, of course, who refuse to sit down on the grounds that implanted populations have no rights. All very confusing.

And of course there's also the small matter of the 1982 war of Aggression and its 1000 deaths to bear in mind. It's probably fair to say we became slightly less keen on you after that.

I hope that's clearer for you now.

The implanted Brits (in Britain) wont discuss the islands with Argentina because they know they have no arguments.

His country is nowhere near Argentina according to his own words:

“Uruguay is too small a country to be on wings, it would be hard to make it rentable.
Still, your nation is doing a great job in the education sector, a friend told me something about finally getting a university in your beloved “interior”. ”

An implanted population would be where a nation state or large group of people of the same Nationality, deliberately move (or are moved) to an area to significantly alter the population dynamics and/or outnumber the indigenous people. Thereby giving them the right to democratically call for “self-determination” as they are now the majority.

You would struggle to find the last episode in British history when that happened, possibly the Norman Conquest, but then Normandy was British at the time. The Romans didn't outnumber us...no, it's difficult.

    The Falklanders?

Well, as we know, there was no indigenous population, and all previous civilian populations had vacated the islands decades before voluntarily. There was the Vernet community (Vernet himself had left years previously leaving the British Brisbane in charge)..and then there was the 50 or so militia who'd arrived 2 months earlier from the UP. Not really sure I can see much implantation going on there.

But does it matter, great countries like Australia, USA and Canada are implanted, despotic pariah states like Argentina are too...all before 1945 and the UN....it is only Argentina that can't see whatever they claim happened in 1833 is irrelevant, even if it were truthful, which it isn't.

Where Stevie is so thick, is that he can only see the world as sovereign states under the UN, everybody must be one...he is too dumb to realise that some places are too small to be a sovereign state in their own right and wish to affiliate with a larger country for their security or foreign affairs.

Not only would he deny them these rights, he thinks HE gets to choose which country they should be a part of....and not THEM...LOL.

    Poor Guzz, never mind.

@12 Sorry? Back in 1982, argieland refused to comply with a UN Security Council resolution. The only type of UN resolution that is BINDING upon all members. Wasn't argieland a member? Yes it was. Did it fail to comply? Yes it did. Leading directly to the deaths of 3 Falkland Islanders and 255 British service personnel. A definite 258 war crimes. But then there's another 775 war crimes that resulted in British wounded. All the war crimes consequent upon herding over a hundred Islanders, including children, into a community hall, under armed guard, without food, water or protection from bombing or artillery fire. And the additional war crime of placing artillery adjacent to civilian homes. And this is the place that a pretend-Uruguayan, who's never been near the place, thinks should be “left alone”. Bomb it. Missile it. Strafe it. Kill it. And when all that has been done, nuke it!
    @15 Shut it, brown noser!
    @17 Shut it, arse-licker!
@23 At what point in time did you think you understood “truth”. Give you a clue. In 1982, a “quasi-country” attacked, invaded and occupied a peaceful civilian community with 66,000 troops. Most of whom were too cowardly to go ashore in case the 80 Royal Marines counterattacked. There's some truth for you!
@25 No. WE Brits won't discuss the Falkland Islands with a shithole. And a shithole that won't even pay to wipe its own arse!
@30 You missed a point in your last paragraph. The “Brits” arrived in Britain when it was the norm. The scum invaded South America when it wasn't. But the scum are still there.
@32 Really? Then you should accept the Falkland Islanders as they are. Because “the vast majority of them didn't immigrate from nowhere” either.
@42 Wow! “The scum” thinks it's got an answer. But it doesn't, does it? “Stevie” “exposed”. Probably wanders round the streets “exposing” itself. “Think I'm a woman? But I've got a prick!” Wrong. It's “Think I'm a woman? No, I'm a prick!” Think on this. Shit surfaces! And you've surfaced.

The Falkland Islanders are no more implanted than Argentines are. You keep forgetting that in 1833 Argentina was 1,000 miles away from the Falkland Islands - now it's 300 because of territorial gains and settlers being 'implanted'.

I was not on this site when GUZZ was here, so I prefer to do what STEVIE and THINK have shown is a most effective way to attack someone.

You use their own words on this site against them. That is what I have done.

STEVIE does not live in Uruguay - by his own words.
STEVIE is not fluent in Spanish - by his own words.
STEVIE does not live in South America - by his own words.

    Is STEVIE, GUZZ? Not important.
Where does STEVIE live? Not important.

Does STEVIE lie - by his own words - yes.
Does STEVIE devalue all his stands for? - yes.

Is STEVIE now deflecting left, right and centre?

Hell yeah and it is quite entertaining.

Stevie is trying to put a good spin on this but failing miserably. On an anonymous forum, the only thing you have is your ability to convey a viewpoint. And nearly all of Stevie's arguments and viewpoints have been based on a lie.

For instance, he can hardly talk about WMDs in Iraq now can he. Especially if that was a lie.

He can't talk about biased viewpoints like he is trying on the Farah Report article when his viewpoint is based on a lie.

So no, he is no longer really effective. Sheer stubborness and hurt pride will make him continue to posting under the Stevie name but eventually I will sniff out the next sock puppet he creates or has. There's no rush, I'll just bide my time.

Interesting that he chose the following article with few comments to ask me why. It is also funny that he accused me of not having anything else to say.

I have plenty to say but see no need to stop on this subject right now.

    @78anglo

Just holding Stevies feet to the fire and making sure he doesn't slip off the hook (sorry, mixed metaphor) should be enough to render him ineffective.

Amazing how the Trolls background stories change to fit the argument/situation.

Such a common ploy too, all from the same book, I imagine.

I think things are really reaching a crisis within CFK's government - the loss of reliable allies, Chavez, the Castros, and a flakey Pepe, spiralling inflation, a resurgent Falklands, hostile UN and IMF, foundering Navy in port, and open dissension in the press and on the streets!!

Stevie has been on here constantly - contrarian to every utterance we make. He's joined by another senior, if not effective, Troll in order to shut down every voice and every argument.
I believe Thinkedover has all but given up. He doesn't even pretend that Dame Dover is anything but a sham - just kind of an 'in- joke' with the Brit ex-servicemen, now.

Amusing that these Trolls go out of their way to insist that they are intellectually, ideologically, and morally superior to the US/UK types on MP, but none of them will hear a single bad word about CFK or criticise her or her policies in any way.
    That's oxymoronic in itself.
As you pointed out, the coup de grace is that they have to lie and be blatantly, intellectually dishonest to support their positions.

Those amongst them that do not jump ship to an ascending RG politician will be out of a job soon enough :-)

Yes it is amazing how people such as you and I are accused of trolling when we are talking about articles and highlighting negativities of the Argentine government but they don't consider changing topic every post and sometimes never actually tackling the subject as not.

Stevie is (was) quite a contrarian and he is currently trying to neutralise how pathetic he is now looking after lying so consistently for the past 4-5 months.

The funny thing is that I warned him way back; his own words would come to bite him and they did big time.

But I admit it is funny that they just can't bring themselves to criticise anything about which ever economic or political model they follow. I am highly critical of my own country and my governments (state and federal) and will gladly list and discuss any of the issues we have or where my country is deficient. But that is the difference I guess, if Stevie, rylang23, Think, Nostrils did that then they wouldn't be able to discuss anything but the problems. So they find it easier to ignore or lie or deflect.

Call me a Conspiracy Theorist, but I believe, Nostrils excepted, that they are directed and have an agenda they must adhere to. Beyond that, whatever their true feelings or defensiveness, their loyalty and devotion to CFK, La Campora, and the Peronists, would fall into question. They simply CANNOT go there.

They have been taught to use the same tactics.

I'm sure Stevie/Guzz, Thinkedover, Axel, and Dany all sit by a row of computers in a grubby canteen and smoke and troll, all day, exchanging stories of how clever they are.

Poor Nostrils is probably an indoctrinated, maladjusted, amateur - not a paid professional 'Dark Troll' like the others.

    BAD COMEDY.
As i always say, everybody have right to think whatever they want, in fact, opinions are free. However, there is something which is much more important than our opinins, i mean objetive facts.
If knaul manifested her cocerning in relation to the reform, before receiving the answers from our government, then this is evident that she's using it politicly. It's not necesary to be so smart in order to realize of it.
On the other hand, she omits that in some states from u. s. a., people choose by mean elections their judges. This is not what the reform proposes, if the project is approved, we'll choose the members of the counceal of magistratura. The mechanism that reform proposes, exists in other countries, so, the government is not inventing anyting.
Anyway, it's understandable that many people buy so easily the soposed concerning of this woman.
Opinions are alwasy welcome, but the politic issues of a country, are solved by it only, and neather knaul's lobby, nor anybody elses's should be taken seriouslly.

axel you are correct that there are states in the USA that elect there judges, most through non-partisan elections and some through partisan elections. This is a bad as well. However if you undestand the US system and constituition you would know that states have sovereign rights unlike Argentine provinces.
What is most important here is that the Federal government, the nation does not elect it's justices , nor the Supreme Court of the USA.....the last appeal in the country, even from a state court if something is deemed unconsitituional. The nations judges are referred by a review committee, and picked by the president, of which the senate judiciary commmittee must ratify. Perfect....no, politics involved, yes......but most important it is not corrupt and and not controlled by the government and it remains independent as easily demonstrated when policians are sometimes shocked at decisions.

“If knaul manifested her cocerning in relation to the reform, before receiving the answers from our government, then this is evident that she's using it politicly. It's not necesary to be so smart in order to realize of it.”

Ms. Knaul had rendered an objective conclusion, but before announcing it, she asked for a response from the Argentine government.
That was an opportunity for Argentina to add more information or refute any allegations.

However, no response or co-operation was forthcoming, so Ms. Knaul was given no option but to release information about the investigation without Argentina's input.

Argentina facing criticism from the UN, ignored the opportunity given them to respond.
Instead, they showed their characteristic disdain for the UN or any Internationsl agreements they've made that are inconvenient to them.

“ It's not necesary to be so smart in order to realize of it.”

    CAPTAIN POPPY. TROY TOMPEST.
CAPTAIN: Thanks for your information. Anyway, perhaps you don't know about how justice works here. Judicial power is the most conservative and reactionary one of the three powers of the state. Entaills between judicial power and politic have always existed and they will always exist, because many sectors of the judicial power have always been corporative. In fact, the clarin could get an injunction in order to not to comply with the new broadcast law sanctioned in 2009, and it coud achieve it thanks to it's entaills with judicial power.
I think there is nothing wrong with choosing the members of the councell of magistrates by mean popular will, because if they don't do a good work, they will be removed, beside everything they do, will be supervised by the supprem court, which is a very prestigious and independent institution. If the government wanted to have an adict justice, they would reform the court, and they would design pro kirchnerist judges. However the actual court was reformed by ex president nestor kichner, and designed some prestigious and independent members from the government, with different ideological postures.
TROY: If knaul wanted to make a serious critic, she would wait the answers by our government, in fact the chancery already sent the answers to her questions.
