The sentence - “Chile and Peru are two strong open market economies that promote the private sector, foreign investment and are pushing for greater transparency domestically.” - might have somehing to do with that.

The funny thing is you think that actually matters. What a poor fool. We don't give you a second or first thought in Argentina. Nor Europe.

The fact that ARGENTINA has not once made a state visit to the USA or any European state should send a signal to YOU. Irrelevant in the Southern Cone you are.

@TroLLey_to_Truth Didn't your bptox queen Kirchner fly to Rome recently via Morocco (Argentines have to be careful where they fly due to none payments of debt) to try and make political gains from a meeting with the new ITALIAN Pope recently squatting in Argentina now in planted into The Vatican

Oh dear, I sense someone's feelings are hurt.
The fact that Argentina has not once made a state visit to USA or Europe signifies that nobody wants you to ! An invitation would have to be made. What good would a state visit from Argentinabe to any of the above countries ?

You are a nothing in diplomatic circles - except a damn nuisance with your continual whining.
Malvinas, Malvinas, the most important subject in the world !!!
Stay in your own cesspit and leave the rest of the world to it's own business. As you keep saying, we do not want anything to do with any other country. Fine, we can all agree with that.

@Clyde15 100% right Argentines get confused when they think other country's are supporting there fairy tales and lies but all they are doing is paying lip service just to shut them up-and let's not forget old Carlos menen who came knocking on our dear queens door some years back

Say what you'll say and I absolutly declare that ex-presidente Carlos was/is a crook, but he was a hell of a lot better and did an enormous less amount of harm than the current mad cow occupying the Casa Rosada.
Dark, short and thieving, he still had charm and was enjoyable to be with at receptions. When an ex-woman journalist that once was his friend, wrote a tell all biography that exposed him as being corrupt, Carlos showed up at her book signing, and told her that he still loved her and wanted her to autograph one of her books that he bought in the bookstore.

As I wrote to an Anglo Argentinean Gentleman a couple of years ago…..:

    ”Carlitos Menem:
Met him in Bariloche in the 70’s.
He had a fascinating personality…. As most psychopaths do….
I know my psychopaths…..... Was married to one, once :-(

    Los Kirchner:
    A complex equation but……
Taking in consideration their 2003 “Starting Point”, they have my more than conditional approval because:
They tackle many of the basic “wrongs” of our country.
They are restructuring our Military and Police forces.
They are restructuring our unreasonable taxation and economic distribution system.
They are correctly closing the most shameful period of our history.(1976- 1983)
They are actively integrating us with all the other South American countries.
And, to finish, even their worst enemies can’t pinpoint or prove any blatant corruption.
Their proverbial “Luck in Business” and “Personal Fortune Increase” are more than annoying to me but “they hold in court”.
If you happen to have other info about the matter, I would be more than happy to see it............”

@Think you paint a un realistic picture

    Cristina Kirchner / Official
•Even before she was elected president of Argentina, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner carried the haze of corruption. In the most famous case, an emissary from Hugo Chavez, the president of Venezuela, was discovered at the Buenos Aires airport carrying a briefcase stuffed with $800,000 in cash, destined, he later told the FBI, to support Kirchner’s presidential bid. Kirchner denied the allegation. Within Argentina, many question the huge fortune Kirchner and her late husband Nestor amassed since taking public office. Her declared personal wealth stands at $13.8 million, up from $500,000 when the couple first entered national politics. Kirchner cites income from real estate and hotels the couple had purchased to explain the 2,600 percent return on the couple’s investment purse. Corruption watchers complain that her government has neutered government oversight, giving auditing posts to cronies compromised by conflicts of interest. The result: corruption cases take an average of 14 years to work through the system, according to the non-profit Center for the Study and Prevention of Economic Crimes, and only 15 in 750 cases have led to convictions.

“Biden says the coming months will include the most active stretch of high-level engagement between the U.S. and Latin America in a long time.”

Will fail again, just like Hillary failed when everybody told her to fuck off. Perhaps Biden will be more lucky with... Trinidad y Tobago, lol.

#23 the thing you forget this time around is that DIlma requested an official state visit to the USA to formally suck on some BBC. So Biden will unlikely be told to fuck off. The interesting thing about her visit is that is is for trade talks and mercosur is not part of the agenda for Dilma.
    Gotta love SA brotherly love.

8 Clyde15 . Just arrived from the office . From what I can see/read most of the comments come from people who do not work or do not understand English . All I said was that the Pacific alliance is moving ahead , because it concentrates on trade , while Mercosur slowly dies owing to its ideology . I enjoy the cesspit , in particular supporting the freedom of the Falklands and our beloved Queen . Find somebody else to bully !

The US “Pivot to Asia” policy necessarily requires that the US establish closer ties to America. This is what we are seeing here. This policy is right for the US and America.

Mercosur, Unasur, OAS, CELAC, ALBA, CARICOM, Pacific Alliance, how many groups does South America need to feel real?
You hit the nail on the head Baxter, they focus on trade and not politics and ultimately will far exceed Mercosur and any of the others.
The best thing the new president of Paraguay did for the people of Paraguay thus far is to focus on trade. This alone will go a long way for jobs in Paraguay. I am starting to think the SA will be split into two groups, PA and the open trading countries and then Mercosur, the Bolivarian bloc countries. When you consider the future of Mercosur, one wonders why Dilma requested an official visit to the USA for trade talks and not under the group of Mercosur? That itself is a telltale sign of Mercosur's future. And the 2nd fiddle is going to play music to the Mercosur boys and the 1st fiddler plays to the Pacific Alliance group. One wonders if Mexico will ever request to move up the chain from Observer to associate member then full member? Doubtful.

I am not toally suggesting that she is changing. But I think she is at a point with her economy that she sees that writing on the tele prompter that MErcosur is not going to do something to help brazil and that she needs to act independently of Mercosur before Brazil becomes another statistic. That action alone adds another nail in Mercosur's coffin.
SA trolls do not seem to realize that they cannot survive, let alone expand depending on SA countries and the likes of Nigeria, PLA and Syria......Mercosur's major trading partner's. They need EU and the USA. As for China.........they are dependent on the EU and the USA. Even then, businesses are leaving China in drives, it's like China caught the Argentine Flu and there is no vaccination for it.

@5 You need to understand a few things. A “state” visit requires a few things. First, that the visitor is recognised as representing a “state”. Then, the visiting “state” has to be sufficiently important. In addition, it's probably important that the “visitor's” transport doesn't get impounded! And that the “visitor” has sufficient funds to fuel the transport so that they don't have to stay and go on welfare. Then the receiving nation has to believe that the “visitor” is worth going to all that trouble for. Mowing the lawns, for example. Distributing rubbish on the streets so that the “visitor” feels at home. Organising supportive rallies.
@13 “I know my psychopaths”. Of course you do. Was he a psycopath before or after he met you?
@23 It's important that you try to understand that, in MP, days do NOT go by until latinos get slapped around the chops. It happens quite quickly so that we can watch their little pointy heads snapping back and forth. We continually work to make their heads spin right round and unscrew. As for Paraguay, it seems to be a much maligned country. But it does appear to have one positive aspect. Unlike argieland, bolivia, ecuador, peru, venezuela, it isn't a repressed dictatorship. And, unlike Uruguay, it isn't ruled by a weak, pathetic, cowardly, senile nonentity.
@27 Nuts.......nuts........nuts............nuts. Be useful. Produce more nuts!
@29 Short-lived. What does the US need with fourth and fifth-rated “states”.
