I don't think they're smart enough to manage the balance between subsidies and inflation. They can easily move into Stagflation and that will destroy whatever small gains they've had in the last decade.
It will be interesting to watch to see what happens here.

@2, 3 You have to remember that the whole of latin america is a hive of agriculture, industry and science. Being kindly generous people, they hide this in order not make north american and northern european nations feel bad.

Until the dastardly rain chucks it down, the dengue laden mosquitoes come out 'to get you' (literally and the Brazilians always forget to get rid of pools, etc that harbour them).

Then you have all those brazen women showing their everything! Great that bit.

ljordao, so true, remarkably stupid AND remarkably drunk on Cachaça....and remarkably high on “paraguayo”(the most toxic, horrific “marijuana” on planet earth”). Paraguayo is this “marijuana” they plant in the wild in Paraguay and then they just leave it til well past time to harvest. Because its totally wild, many of the plants are male, and all have seeds by harvest time. Then they let it grow too long til its old and rotting, then they cut it down and let it dry in the dirt on the floor as it gets all moldy and disgusting.
That's what brazilians looove to smoke. Brazil is so effed on SO many levels.
I kid you not, Brazil cost of living is higher than USA, even the more expensive parts of USA are cheaper than most of Brazil.
