I lived throught the Chilean UP, with long lines outside of supermarkets wit few goods inside. Low prices, but limited supplies purchased with coupons. Argentina will eventually face the same if they keep their “voluntary” price controls in effect.

I suggest you list all your task under one subheading titled “Chavez's Fuckups”. This will help focus the mind.

On a side note, A SCARCITY INDEX? You've got to be kidding me.

It's fun to watch Maduro lie in Chavez's bed. These leaders don't really think constructively w long-term plans.

According to Mad duro, they have oil for another 100 years.

Food for another 100 days on the other hand, seems to be a problem!

You could not make this up. They live in the equivelant of a gold mine and can not even feed themselves. Talk about organising a piss up in a brewery!!!!

Maduro is learning from Argentina - blaming everyone but the administration for the shortages.

If the Chavez-price control placed on the company for its rice and maize-meal food production means that the company is producing and selling at a significant loss, than who can blame it if it cuts back on production.
Same thing happened with Repsol in Argentina.

Anticipate full nationalisation of Empresas Polar SA for at least its foods division.
The Maduro visit to CFK will help Maduro to shoot himself in the foot even more effectively.

These are the same retards that came up with the terms banksters and believe capitalism doesn't work.
I love to watch Socialism die a slow and painful death.

I know exactly what you mean.

“Do as I say and not as I do” seems to fit these despicable people very well though.

I wonder where he has parked his bus for a quick trip to the supermarket which still has food left, if they can find one.

Nobody in the Politburo has trouble getting food.
I think CFK's main worry is can she charter enough planes to get the loot out in time?
    Well...the little that is left
All good Commie leaders retire in luxury if they make it that far.

Seems like the Arab states could teach this twat a thing or two, like how to manage your resources.

The old saying, “fall in shit and come out of smelling roses” does not seem to apply here.

They seem to, “fall in shit and come out smelling of shit!”

Ferkin hell, what else do they need, they have it all and they still can not get it right.

Take my advice, take a gun and blow your ferkin brains out, but your so ferkin inept, you would probably miss!!!!!!!!

#15 actually, with their oil reserves, it's more like fall in roses and come out smelling and looking like shit. Venezuela is akin to the last man on earth in a world full or women and can't get laid.

Maduro - and Cristina - seem to believe that wishing it were so, and saying it is so, will make it happen and it will be so.

They have much in common with the Cargo Cultists, the stone age Pacific peoples who mistook mumbo jumbo for the real deal.

Making toy airports will not bring in real aeroplanes,
and running pretend economies will not save the countries and their peoples.

The people on Venezuela should be outraged. With the natural resources they have, they should be much wealthier. The amount of reserves that was in Alaska was nothing compared to what Venezuela has. Alyeska brought so much money to Alaska that taxes were gone, in fact the state paid money to each resident. My sister and family lived there for 10 years and each year were paid a refund from the states coffers. Venezuelan people need to demand a better management team than the Driver and his bird.

Better China's bitch than the USA or Europe. Fact.

Capitalism was flushed down the toilet in Argentina by capitalist. Instead of compromising a bit in the 1990s on the currency board, on mass lay-offs, on outrageous utility inflation, etc, they were intransigent. Well, that's what you get for refusing to negotiate, the other side (Argentina's political class), became just as intransigent... AGAINST them. Too late now.

Never mind, the Bus Driver will now be able to go on the television that his mate has just bought and tell all the stupid twats who voted for him how full the shelves are in the suprmarkets and given the track record for stupidity in that country I have no doubt they will believe him.
