The newly elected Ecuadorean National Assembly sat for the first time this week and next week will take the oath of office to President Rafael Correa, who was re-elected by a landslide last February. The legislative with 137 members has a majority of members from Correa’s party Alliance Country Movement, and was elected for a four-year mandate. Read full article

Twice in this edition the word “female” has been used to describe a person in high political office. WTF is that about? These people are women.

I realize that conservative men (especially the owners of the MercoPress) have a hard time dealing with that half of the population, but please enter the 21st century and leave the 1950's behind.
