    (half the Brazilian population has African blood from the time of slavery)

    An old historic ( and exaggerated) fact that the Brazilian “white” elite love to use gain access on the African continent. So far, that strategy is successful.

    BRAZIL IS A WESTERN COUTRY!

    We are living in a different time. It's time for responsability.
    For every action we take, there will be a reaction or results.

    If you want to buy a diamond ring for your fianceé whitout questioning about it's destination, probably someone will pay for it.

    If you want to fill you car with gas, whitout questioning about the origin of it, someone will pay.

    If you want to buy cheap eletronics, without asking about how they were made, someone will pay for it too.

    I'M TALKING ABOUT THE SOCIAL COST!

    We just can't keep consuming whitout asking about the consequences of our actions!

    This actual crisis is very much because we are valuating stuff more than people MORE THAN EVER!

    Today we are facing a neo-feminism (new sexist war), expendable realationships, atheism(based in a pseudo-science) , mental depression as results of this “developed” agenda.

    WHY?
    Because we are failling as human beings.
    Because we are don't care about real people.

    I'm tired of this desperate consuption fever.
    I'm tired of the “developed” Neo-liberalism...

    So, you don't want:
    a car to travel to see your friends across the country?
    to fly in a plane to see other parts of the planet?
    to improve your home to make it more comfortable?
    to wear new clothes?
    to improve the schools by having up to date computers and laboratory gear?
    to learn the truth about science?
    BUT, you do want to:
    keep believing in a god even though there is no proof for one, even after 4,000 years?
    keep the 'Father' of the damnable RC Church in your community even though they bugger the boys and rape the girls?
    keep the RC give us your money and go to heaven when you die nonsense?

    If I were you I would calm down a little, you are going to be ill if you keep on like this.

    Of course I want all those conforts. But I don't want receive them by destroying other countries. Exploiting them.

    Inventing imaginary “nuclear weapons” to steal oil and destroy a hole country...
    Training evil men to fight my enemies. Like Osama B. Laden(Trained by CIA).
    Or selling guns to both sides in a war (IRAN-IRAQ).

    SCIENCE?

    We are studing atoms since ancient greece! 2500 years stuying them.

    The atoms are real just because our science proved it?

    The eath is round just because Columbus proved?

    Science is just a tool. A method of human expose ideias. We are always using many methods to expose ideias.

    I'm Christian, but I'm not Catholic.
    EVOLUTION DO NOT DENY GOD.

    Based in evolution I can tell this science will fall. Because this is the evolution of human thinking! I'm based on human history.

    DARWIN?
    Just take a look in Darwin theory in practice in every mother womb! The history of life on earth (4 billions of years) in 9 months. Cell to men/women. And this “book” is marked in every cell of our body. But we are not defined only by this body.

    Big Bang? Other evolutionary theory. Mass extictions? Other evolutionary theory.

    Will we deny God just because our science prove?

    It's not enough for me.

    11 I mostly agree with you, sadly most actual economic models, even left leaning ones, involve a serious level of waste on nature itself, and a consumption that in some cases can get really out of hand in comparasion for what is really needed, and at a great cost which sometimes involve human beings becoming less caring towards each other. My only objection to your POV is that this isn´t a reason to think of all economic activity as something to get away from, rather, ppl can reorient those same economic activities towards developing and respecting spaces for nature to keep an equilibrium.

    You are new here and do not know that I was once head server / vicars assistant in a High Church within the C of England, then at the age of 12 I found science. And realized I was really an atheist, it's the only thing that makes objective sense.

    If we left it to the church:
    the Earth would be flat;
    witches exist and need to be burnt at the stake;
    the more money you pay to the church the more your chance of getting into heaven;
    the RC Church sold ‘time off’ in purgatory for a scaled price: the more you paid the less time you had to do in purgatory;
    everybody, especially atheists, who do not believe will be sent to hell: good job there is no god, there is no devil either;
    until very recently the RCC considered the Earth Centric version of the universe to be the ONLY one;

    I can see that your lack of education and excess of indoctrination as a child by your parents (which almost happened to me) makes it very difficult to accept ANY science as fact. But that is your problem, not one of science.

    “We are stud(y)ing atoms since ancient Greece! 2500 years stu(d)ying them.”

    Not true. The Greeks and the Indians were hypothesising about the ‘atom and the void’ that went with it. The atom was indivisible which science has demonstrably proven incorrect or don’t you believe in current atomic theory either? BTW it was 7,000 years ago and they were wrong then as they are wrong now.

    We, with our modern machines can actually LOOK at atoms AND determine the elements that comprise their make-up.

    But like all delusional god believers you cannot see that after 4,000 years there is still not a scintilla of proof forthcoming AND the reason for that is obvious: there is none! I bet you don’t even know why I say 4,000 years and not 2013, do you?

    Good news. Brazil is probably the most promising “great power” for Africa, giving them an alternative to the west and its dictates, as indeed does China too. Hope Africa will follow Latin America's example, and throw off the legacy of neo-colonial, dictatorial and oligarchic regimes and return to the Bolivarian style governments that the west overthrew in 60s, the ones that invited the great Malcolm X to one of the first of these meetings =)

    #7 Good link from that youtube vid to a George Galloway radio show debate on the same subject =)

    #14 “EVOLUTION DO NOT DENY GOD”

    Quite right!

    #17 “If we left it to the church:
    the Earth would be flat”

    No, God and/or nature made it round, whatever the Church said =)

    “witches exist and need to be burnt at the stake”

    Sounds like your attitude to Cristinita!

    “the RC Church sold ‘time off’ in purgatory for a scaled price: the more you paid the less time you had to do in purgatory”

    A bad episode in Church history, though Luther split over it without denying God! Personally I don't like the capitalistic connotations of that policy...

    “until very recently the RCC considered the Earth Centric version of the universe to be the ONLY one”

    Define “very recently”, it must be several centuries now, though of course that's a fraction of the Church's history...

    “BTW it was 7,000 years ago and they were wrong then as they are wrong now”

    Your wrong, the earliest civilisations in Egypt and Iraq began between 5 and 6 thousand years ago; and Greece was much later than that

    “We, with our modern machines can actually LOOK at atoms”

    Though quantum mechanics as I understand it says you can't have any certainty about things at that scale...

    A commie who believes in God!

    In 1741 Galileo’s book was moved from Heresy to a neutral location in the library of The Devils Estate (the Vatican) and this is taken as the date when the RC morons realised they had it wrong. AND of course in 1992, 359 years after his trial, Pope John Paul II issued an apology, lifting the edict of Inquisition against Galileo. Wasn't that NICE of him?

    So I was 1000 years out (perhaps because it depends when you define the civilisation) and at 14% out that is better than 2,500 or 240% out?

    “We, with our modern machines can actually LOOK at atoms”. Never heard of the Hadron Super Collider the machine that found the ‘God particle’? BTW it is not because the scientific community believe in God: it was a piss take on the part of those who surmised the existence of the particle.

    BTW I bet YOU ALSO don’t know why I say 4,000 years and not 2013 years, do you?

    A Christian commie, that’s really ‘precious’. I bet Chubby Chavez is rotting and wondering why it’s all still black (so to speak). LOLs
