The lead off states that there were no votes against and no abstentions, did Spain not attend or did they vote for it?

IF Spain and Gibraltar progress in the tournament they might end up in a match together.

    Something to see indeed.

No way they could threaten to or even pull out of UEFA in their current economic situation. Football, food for the masses.

They will be in the same bottom pool and thus cannot be drawn against each other. Gibraltar WILL draw one from Pool A though, such as Germany or Italy. The Spanish could then hold them up at the border and show everyone in Europe how childish they are being. Since the Germans are effectively paying some of the Spanish guards wages then they might want to wind their necks in.

    Goal!!!!!

@9 that's right play it down, it was that much of a big deal for spain they let themselves get “Raped” in court, I for one love seeing Spain being thrashed on matters of human rights!

as for winning games you are clearly missing the point here, ill give you a clue........recognition, now that is a big deal, wouldn't you agree :)

Well Done Gibraltar, win...lose...draw..its the taking part that matters!

    @11 Stevie:

    Why so bitter towards Gibraltar?

If it's because you disagree with local populations controlimg their own matters, then maybe you should hand back to Spain the bits of South America you stole from them (and in turn they stole from the locals).

Argentinean hypocrisy: you've got to love it.

    I'm bitter towards Gibraltar? How?
It's just another British colony that will get destroyed everytime they play a game on the pitch, nothing more.
Why would that make me bitter?

Another bitter comment. Does their inclusion by Uefa really cause you so much pain that you have to appease yourself with nasty remarks?

Where exactly does your Spanish Imperialism end? Or perhaps you would like to see a return of the Emirate of Granada?

It would be very informative if the posters on here could quanify your level of hypocrisy.

@11 anthem of a loser???......newsflash... Gibraltar “WON” their case in court, and spain....yep you guessed it had to bend over and take it real good in court :)))

like I say we both know its the taking part that matters here which spain didn't want at all costs and guess whats happened? :D :D :D :D
and I hope they do play spain and Gibraltar will most likely get beaten which the result will be quite irrelevant I assure you, but the fact spain will have to “RECOGNIZE” Gibraltar and play them or face UEFA wrath is oh so sweet, don't you think?

Regarding the Home Nations and Spain: N.Ireland beat Spain 3-2 in Belfast the last time Spain played there. Spain won the return tie 1-0, neither result was a thrashing for anyone. Ironically the home tie for Spain was played in the Canary Islands which are closer to Morocco and yet belong to Spain. Hope that helps Stevie.

If Gibraltar is so tough (which they aren't), they should be completely independent, include from the UK (no military and finacially support from London). Of course, they, loud mouths in Gibraltar, won't go for that.

The last time Uruguay won a World Cup was 1950....Jesus that's longer than England...and pathetic. Argentina have only won it once in 1986 (blatantly cheating).

The 1978 victory for the Junta can't be counted as Argentine as we know they are not accountable for anything in that period.

So, a victory 63 years ago for Uruguay and a handball goal for Argentina...a bit shit really, when compared to as you say Brazil, Germany and Italy.

Never mind, if it's all you've got.

Last time Uruguay won a Copa America was 2011, and we got a decent 4th place in the World Cup 2010.
When was the last time England won a Euro Cup?
And that “Victory” 1966 was as blatant as the Argentine 1978...

Uruguay had to beat the mighty Ghana and South Korea for their 4th place...whoopee. Like England, as soon as they face a half decent side they lost.

1966, I can only assume you are talking about whether the 3rd goal crossed the line..still unproven either way...but how in your warped mind is that cheating??

Really Stevie, Uruguay are shit at football, yesterday you said Suarez was better than any British player, a fact not shared by the PFA or the writers associations when they handed out the player of the year awards.

You're a twat Stevie..but keep making a twat out of yourself.

  • Stevie

Well Monkeymagic, you can only beat the ones you play against, can't you? ;)

    1966:
Uruguay vs West Germany 0-4, two Uruguayans sent off, one german offside goal and a disallowed Uruguayan goal for no apparent reason. Referee was English.

England vs Argentina 1-0, one Argentinean sent off for no apparent reason. Referee was German.

The most amazing part is that the red Card didn't even exist until after that particular World Cup.
But hey, why not make the rules up as you go... ;)

    Stevie

Are you saying that referees sent players from the pitch using a “red card system” that wasnt sanctioned by FIFA? Extraordinary.

The England Argentine games in 1966 and 1986, Strangely, when England were unequivocally cheated by an ARGENTINE player, they got on with game. When Argentina may or may not have been cheated by a German referee, the player had to be escorted from the pitch by the police.

Yes, a clear and obvious distinction between the two countries.
I've never seen the Germany/Uruguay game, but 4:0 sounds pretty conclusive to me, and no german player cheated nor bit anyone...so it sounds like Uruguayan sour grapes, rather than anyone deliberately cheating.

ho hum...Alf Ramsey is as correct today as he was in 1966, the Argentines are animals.

It's easy to beat a 9-man team, especially if you disallow their goals...
To beat Argentina, you lot had to sent of their captain...

And eho was the President of the FIFA at the time?
You lot had to invent the red card in order to cheat, sorry, win...

    Stevie

Your racism blinds you to the shit you talk.

Firstly Uruguay and Argentina had already finished their group stages behind Endland and Germany, suggesting they weren't as good.

Germany were already ahead of Uruguay before the first player was sent off, and one 4:0. In the last world cup England had a perfectly good goal disallowed against Germany...do we think it was some sort of refereeing conspiracy? What a joke!! You were thrashed, because you had a shit team who lost their discipline when they were losing...typical of Uruguay/Argentina!!

As for Argentina...what sort of international captain needs to be escorted from the field by the POLICE!! rightly or wrongly where is the honour or dignity, England players have been sent off before in dubious circumstances, I don't recall the police being involved.

Looks to me like typical Latam sour grapes...calling a German referee “YOU LOT” almost as ridiculous as your claim that “THE TRUTH” is found on you tube, or that Britain only fought WWII because it was invaded.

Blinded by racism Stevie, and it makes you look like a twat....worse than Nostril

According to the referee, Rattín was sent off because of “violence of the tongue”, although he, the referee, admittedly didn't speak Spanish (and Rattín spoke even less German).
And you seem to go around the fact that there were no red cards, but the sending off was a quick fix to ensure the game(s) were won, hence Rattín didn't understand he was supposed to leave the field.

And how am I a racist for bringing you the truth? The same Alf Ramsey, the one you quote for calling the Argentines animals for not liking to be cheated, also did his best to stop the players from exchanging shirts after the game.
If you want to talk about racists, talk about him...

    Stevie

I dont speak Spanish either..but if I call you an ignorant racist Argie cunt it pretty much translates into any language and is bang on the mark.

Sending off in football has existed for decades before the 1966 World Cup, Rattin knew exactly what he was supposed to do, and NEEDED A POLICE ESCORT. What sort of international captain is that.

Not exchanging shirts..absolutely not racism, but a clear indication that the behaviour of the Argentine team, especially Rattin was completely inappropriate.

As far as you bringing the truth, Uruguay got beat 4:0, whether or not they had a goal disallowed or not is your opinion, as I said England definatelydid last World Cup, but nearly all England supporters would accept Germany was the better team.

I repeat, your dribbling racism of the last few days has made you look a complete penis.

Uruguay lost 4:0 but “deserved to win”!!
Rattin needed a police escort to be aware he was sent off!!!!
The“truth” is only available on you-tube!!!!
Britain only took part in WWII because it was invaded!!!!
Britain is involved in Afghanistan for the oil??!!!
Britain is anti-muslim but fought with the Muslims of Bosnia and Kuwait and is a home to an ever growing population!!!!!

ETC ETC...thread after thread racist shit, with no evidence, and your arse handed to you on a plate..to be an effective troll you need plausible arguments, yours are worse than Nostril who has clear mental problems.

I repeat you are an ignorant racist with no reasoned arguments and you make yourself look a cunt.
