“It is a dangerous law”, head of the Radical Party caucus at the Lower House Ricardo Gil Lavedra warned. But ruling Victory Front lawmakers responded to the criticism: “How do you plan to finance the country?”

Stop you lot pocketing all the bribes and moving it abroad would be a start!

Chucking your mafia pals into jail would be another, etc.

“ The bill invites residents with domestic or overseas assets in dollars to make the funds ‘legitimate’, no questions asked, no levies charged, as long as they purchase special financial instruments that will yield 4% interest. ”

    I see.

Is the President, and all members of her administration, then going to divulge all offshore and overseas accounts and investments they possess, and make them “ legitimate. ? ” Or is that only for residents, and not officials.

Anyone.... anyone... anyone ? No ?

    So familiar...

    Proscription of 43 BC [edit]

Proscription was later revived by the Second Triumvirate in November 43 BC, again to eliminate political enemies and to replenish the Treasury. Some of the proscribed enemies of the state were stripped of their property but protected from death by their relatives in the Triumvirate (e.g., Lucius Julius Caesar and Lepidus' brother). Most were not so lucky; amongst the most prominent men to suffer death were the orator Cicero, his younger brother Quintus Tullius Cicero (one of Julius Caesar's legates) and Marcus Favonius.[1]

Is a fiscal amnesty such a unique Argentinean thing??

Off the top of my head…:

    Spain had one in 2012…

Italy had one in 2001, one in 2003 and one in 2009….

Portugal had one in 2005, one in 2010 and one in 2012….

Mexico had one in 1989, one in 1990,one in 1995, one in 2005, one in 2009 and one in 2013….

And…............... last but not least, USA’s last three were in 2009, 2011 and 2012…

Stink.....read thoroughly before you type. The amnesty programs in the USA are directly related to reporting gains for tax purposes, not having foreign currency and giving it to the government. Never has it been illegal to possess foreign currency as it is in Argentina. People in Argentina put money in U$ because of inflation and American citizens, er.....excuse me, North American citizens in the USA are allowed to put their entire net worth in any currency, foreign bank, stocks anyplace they want to, so long as they report gains and that is what those amnesty programs are about. In Argentina where possession of U$ is all but outlawed (Venezuela has toilet paper raids........Argentina has U$ raids and trained dogs), their programs are designed to acquire U$ because the government needs them so they outlaw their citizens from owning and investing in them. If they plebs that run Argentina learned that growth without inflation is possible, published real inflation, attacked corruption...starting at the top, people of Argentina would have more faith in the country. The problem has to be with the vast majority of the populace otherwise it would not be an issue of concern. If that many people believe something is wrong......something is wrong.

I wonder what will happen when CFK is in jail ( or dead) the bonds come due during the next regime and everyone knows its drug money?

Laws are so easily changed in that “serious country” to suit the new ruler I would think even strong arming the hold outs isn't going to work very well.

High levels of consumption are indicative of high inflation and no ability to save. Argentina's consumer boom is literally stealing savings and future investment.

Why save or invest in anything when you have 30% inflation but are continually told it is 10%. The economy is geared to act as if it is 10% and people act as if it is 30%.

So spend my dear Argentines, spend. There is no use saving that wage, not even for a single month.

    The original article is here:
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2333993/Argentina-invades-Britain-Record-numbers-tourists-spend-100million-UK-despite-renewed-tensions-Falkands.html

    So congratulations Argentina!

    This website is even better:
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2333993/Argentina-invades-Britain-Record-numbers-tourists-spend-100million-UK-despite-renewed-tensions-Falkands.html

For instance, coming from a country that isn't decimated, pitiable and utterly ruined with the desperate Middle/High classes fleeing from the brutal economic and social policies of an impending dictatorship and the criminal persecution by the brown shirted goon squads, we wouldn't be impressed that we had 103,500 people visit the UK and spent a whopping £101 million.

No, we'd have something more like 993,000 visits with a spend of £1 billion.

I guess turnips are not only RICH in vitamin A, folate, vitamin C, vitamin K and calcium, but also RICH in pounds sterling by the looks of it.

Argentines don't need travel visas to visit UK. I haven't seen many in my USA city that is for sure.
I wonder if we stopped issuing visas to Rgs again?

It was sad to go to the embassy and watch people get denied to travel here and then scream and cry to the guards to try to get their $100 back.

Argentines don't need travel visas BUT I know of people turned away at Heathrow and sent straight back. I don't take the direct flight from Buenos Aires anymore but I remember being met as we stepped off the plane by immigration and sniffer dogs. Anyone with a SoAm passport was pulled to one side to be checked.

I saw the stats and wondered if it allowed for the Olympics? But I see it as very positive. Even allowing for the government's anti-British rhetoric Argentines are increasingly wanting to visit the UK and spend their money here. Which I have to say is in line with my personal experience of Argentines.

    @33

Well you have finally shown your true racist colors. Total generations about entire countries huh? Who would have thought it from you.

Don't worry though, we got genetically better immigrants than you. Know why? Ticket prices.

From 1850 to about 1885, the price of a ticket 3rd class to Ellis Island was almost four times cheaper than one to Hotel de Inmigrantes. And from 1885 to 1930 about two to three times cheaper.

So when the first immigrants mainly Irish, German, Swiss, Dutch, Basque, and northern Italians came, it was nobility or well to do folk. They are the ones that founded many of the cities in central and southern ARG.

That trend continued throughout most of that time. Which is why in Argentina it is much more even between northern Italians and southern Italians (which is why many Italian-argentines are blond), but in the USA all Italians were southern Italians. The south was poorer thus most people chose the US, but in overall numbers so many more Italians went to Argentina that there are many southern Italians as well (mostly the good ones, notice how there was never an Italian Mafia in Argentina, unlike the USA).

So overall, we got the far better genetics and noetics, because distance and price of ticket deterred many so they went to your country. Which is why today you still believe in creationism, the tower of Babel, that complaining turns your brain into goo, and that homosexuality is contagious.

    hahahahaha, USA what a joke.

I don't see what is so irrational, you as a country are quickly heading downhill, whether you admit it or not. Your education stats are atrocious (and that's WITH tons of very smart Europeans, Chinese, Indians, Arabs, and South Americans attending your universities boosting your numbers, imagine if they were not included). Your well-being numbers are far worse now then 20th years ago, your debt is unpayable, your politics at a gridlock, your infraestructure literally crumbling or failing, you can't go into space anylonger, you won't have the world's biggest navy soon, you no longer have the only world's currency (Euro and Yuan taking that away).

You were 50% of world's GDP in 1950, now you are about to trop below 20%. You have increasing calls by states both north and south and west to secede.

WHAT more evidence do you need? Not my fault you are a jingoist with your head in the sand.

The USA started declining three decades ago with the fall of the USSR. History books will reflect that irony in 200-300 years. They will say:

“For the people living at the time, the collapse of the Soviet Union signaled the apparent start of an era of unparalled power and dominance for the USA. But in hindsight, the symptoms of decline statistically were clear. The sep 2001 attacks were a symbolic watershed. As the first half of the 21st unfolded, the increasingly weak economy, detereorating social indicators, constant terrorism targeting the country, and dysfunctional politics led to ever increasing budget problems, which culminated in the American debt crisis and default of 2036. This event marked the end of the USA as a superpower, and the social upheaval it brought laid the foundations for the start of the 2nd American civil war, a war between citizen and government.

The Constitutional States of America, the Republic of California, Texas and the Northwestern Federation would all ultimately arise from the ash. The remainder of USA would rename to ”American Republic”.

I can't blame you though, if you get your info from turnips like (51) and (53)

Let me help you out a bit.....:
    1) Argentina has a VAT of 21% called IVA .....
    2) “Black” employment is estimated at ~30-35%; NOT 50%
    3) Only Turnips say that if every company paid every tax, they would pay 108% of their profits.

54:Senor Think, there many references in many publications to how successful Nestor Kirchner was in improving Argentina's tax revenue, however now where was there a reference to a consumption tax. The reason for my question (the context) is because in my country we adopted a consumption tax in the mid 90's, against great opposition, including my own (I was wrong) and it was amazingly effective at scooping up large amounts of money that would otherwise have found it's way into some incredibly complicated legal (or illegal) tax shelter/avoidance scheme.
Given how inventive the Kirchners appear to be at sniffing out any unsecured cash lying around (preferably dollars), it makes sense that there was no mention of it given that it was probably another administration that introduced it.

They make them so high for a couple reason, they want to be able to use it as a bludgeon if you ever go against the gov't and they know nobody pays everything so they try to catch the ones that do.

Either way, I don't know of anyone that really evades taxation in Australia. A couple of cash in hand jobs here and there, mate's rates, but not the 30-35% that Think feels is the case in Argentina.

We are not talking here about Oz-Bob the Builder, Oz-Charlie the Carpenter or Oz-Pat the Plumber making a couple of bucks for their Bali holiday on the side…..

We are talking about places like Bangladesh, Argentina, even Niugini……..

We are talking about the poorest 1/3 of a population being forced in the informal market by employers who do not wish to pay for all that nonsensical “Workplace Safety”, “Medical Benefits”, “Retirement Contribution” and other “Communist Rubbish” registered and organized workers “Think” they are entitled to…..

A certain building recently collapsed in Bangladesh comes to mind……

    hahahahaha, what a fool.

Well if that logic works, then what 50% poverty in Argentina? First of all a lie (not even the most anti-gov stats say that), and those 25% who are poor... well, they just need to imagine they live in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, or Venezuela and they are now Middle Class~~!!

72:Thanks for responding. You have a point, the protections workers are afforded and from which I have personally benefited are generous in this country and for that I am grateful. I was born in Tanzania and also lived in Kenya for a while in the 70's and witnessed the grotesque disparity between the truly rich and the abject poor and the inevitable resentment this inspired. If indeed what Argentina is trying to achieve is something similar in the way of a safety net for the most vulnerable then I can only wish you all the best of luck - but is there no other way to achieve it? Controlling every aspect of society seems counterproductive to me, I can't imagine Argentines like been told what to do anymore than anyone else does. You can't make people be more compassionate or be better citizens -there has to some incentive other than dire warnings, punishments and excessive legislation. By the way I may have given the impression I'm some sort of Rupert Murdoch fan (either that or you're attempting to get under my skin) - for the record nothing made me happier than when he decamped to the big apple and became a Yank -the're welcome to him. A_voice has many common traits with Think.

    - interacts with Think, is backed up by Think
    - travels closely with Think, appearing simultaneously on the same threads
    - Think writes from the perspective of Northern Europe and claims Scotland as his home ( inconvenient politically to say he lives in England), but he is very vague about his situation, and provides no details.
“A_Voice” lets us infer that he is British, as though he lived there, and makes the same cultural references as Think.
He argues that non-Brits are disqualified from discussing British “affairs”, while implying that he himself is eligible, yet will not declare himself as British - all a bit similar to Think.
He immediately used the same names and tactics to goad me, as Think and his puppet Dover.
A_voice suddenly appeared at the same time the Surfer and Dover puppets imploded.
He has the same Inferiority Complex as Think.

@88think aka Dover aka surfer aka A_Voice aka ???

    Think,
Personally, I had not even questioned Mr. Heisenbergcontext.
    However, obviously some have.

I really hope that nobody is falsely accused of lying or “sockery”.

That being said, it IS going to happen.
The trolls like Think, “A_Voice”, etc., deride us for suspicion and paranoia. They chide us for chasing shadows, asking questions, but as it turns out, Mr. “Think” has recently revealed that his caustic “Brit”, RN (Ret.) Doveoverdover, was a puppet, a fake persona. The same for “Surfer”, an apparent “Anglo” or Anglo- ally. Both characters crafted and controlled by “Think”.

MP may be short-sighted by not limiting more than one user-ID from the same email address or IP address, but Think has taken advantage of this and abused the MP forum by misrepresenting himself as multiple separate Users.
He has used this to deliberately discredit legitimate Users and the information they post.
He deliberately and maliciously created a climate of suspicion, distrust, and used it to spread misinformation.

Currently, there are no “Anglos” being accused of “puppetry” or multiple identities.

There ARE people who will be wrongly accused of not being 'legitimate'.
Not surprising in the atmosphere of suspicion and doubt deliberately created and exploited by “Think”.

I don't feel it is unreasonable, paranoid, or unfair to doubt someone, given the lengths that Think and trolls have taken to deceive.

It is very difficult to establish one's legitimacy on this type of forum, but the “Anglos” seem to be far more forthcoming and consistent about themselves than “characters” like “A_Voice” who is very evasive about his origins, allegiances, and motivations.

    113 Troy Tempest

But you must remember the qualifications that The Chief Carrot has that make him so emminently suitable for this role:

He has a 1954 French / Russian (hacked) Pilots Watch which is correct twice a day.

I'm sure it was given to Think by Nikita Khrushchev, as an expression of his personal “thanks”.

I think he developed the A-Voice because traditional Think is going to hibernate for a while again. They seem to play tag team with themselves. They even have personalities that give one another compliments. The craziest part it this......the do not see the insanity in it. I think they believe they are patriotic in some strange way..........like an airborne ranger or something.
