“The Pope is very pleased for having met with a wise man”, was the official report from the Holy See following the 45 minute private audience of Francis with Uruguayan president Jose Mujica, the longest so far with a head of state. Although Mujica is a declared atheist and did not attend the inauguration of the first Latinamerican pope last March, he did request an interview with Francis, which took place on Saturday. Stick with the advice of Mark Twain, on the topic of religion and afterlife Pepe.
“Religion was invented when the first con man met the first fool.”
“I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it.”
I hate it when these purveyors of faith and other mumbo jumbo start making these public statements. And then there's the Pope as well.
Jun 03rd, 2013 - 12:26 pm - Link - Report abuse 0they took a few minutes to remember Uruguayan theologian and writer Alberto Methol Ferré. Who was he? Don't remember. You must do. He was one of yours. Not one of mine. I don't believe in this god stuff. There's only the goddess of BsAs. I go there regularly to pray. No, my son, that's not praying. It's called ass-licking.
How did this guy Methol get a crystal ball? Latinamerica hasn't yet reached the XXI century. How did he learn about the future? Perhaps he was already dead. Methylated spirits!
“I think that if they let him, he’s going to make a revolution inside the Church, towards simplicity” That'll be handy for Pepe. Being, as he is, pretty simple.
Regarding Uruguay, Mujica talked with Francis about the priority of sustaining the combat against hard core poverty since it is not a question of money, “the State can send people to help but can’t ensure love and care, so this requires the commitment of many groups, and that is what I’m asking from the Church, a militant presence”. Danger signals! The last militant presence was called the Spanish Inquisition.
What a pity that Cotugno said the Pope is Latinamerican, Argentine and all which that means”. If he'd omitted Argentine, it would have been much better. Now his tags are bent, corrupt, criminal, depraved, degenerate, insincere, larcenous, mendacious, rapacious, vicious. Or possibly vacuous.
Ahhh!
