What's the surprise??? Only a few years ago we were all told not to divulge personal information on cell phones because you never knew who could be listening

Now in the age of smart phones, facebook & twitter everything you say or do can be all over the world in a matter of minutes!!!

“US spy chief admits collecting internet information but only targets ‘non-US persons’”

    “The UK shares US intelligence.”
You idiot, do you really believe they do that to keep you safe from “al ciaeda”? Do you really believe that your government (you know those government leaders that pose austerity on you and bail out the banksters) cares about you? Is it normal for you to have “intelligent surveillance ” on you, without permission and in the name of “security? Seriously, are you that dumb to believe that nonsense? Good lord.

Smart phones, folks, it's not because those phones are so smart, it's smart to that it's able to track everything what you do, with or without your permission, all in the name of ”market research and security“. Good news is, you don't have to use it, but if you want to be part of that trend, get use to that it's just another way of being in a ”virtual prison”...how wonderful. People who are willing to surrender their rights and freedom in the name of security, deserve nothing, because you will not have any freedom at all.

And they keep lying and lying and lying. What bothers me the most is that most people in the United States just don't complain, because this goes totally against the constitution (that slowly is being burned). Those so called official arseholes in so called government really believe their own kool aid that they are above the law. This is the similar as the so called information of the “scanning” machines at the airport and all the “free wifi”..

    Geez..

We have to keep an eye out for radicals. If you have something to hide be very aware. Personally I have nothing to fear.

“designed to facilitate the acquisition of foreign intelligence information concerning non-US persons located outside the United States”.
I like the USA, but they are telling big, BIG and outrageously gigantic non-truths...
They are listening to everyone. Fido needs to find a cave in the Andes and hide.

    4 Fido dido:

I will be very surprised if many Americans don't complain about this. Loudly and repeatedly. Not me though - my 'phone is old and extremely stupid. There are, it seems, benefits to being a middle-aged luddite.

I don't think Dido has a green card, that is why he is in and out of the States all the time: he needs to reset his visitors visa.

A lot of Brits who bought houses in the States fell into the trap that they would be able to get a residency visa and for all the promises by Bush with Blair as his poodle it never happened. They have to do the same exercise to keep living in their own property.

A lot of the confusion is that there ate 2 separate programs. Prism is an internal program which collects metadata about phone calls within the US. This is the program that is the subject of most US articles. The program in this article is not Prism.
