Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, a refugee for almost a year at the Embassy of Ecuador in London, is recommending that Edward Snowden, 29, seek refuge in Latin America. Read full article
The Ecuadorian Ambassador to London was complaining that Assange's human rights were being denied because he is not allowed to sunbathe. LOL They must be getting desperate to get him out of there, even for a few minutes.
The Ecuadorians have already recalled their ambassador over her failure to resolve the Assange situation. I wouldn't be so confident in recommending them if I were Assange. I loved the anecdote about the Ecuadorian ambassador asking 'What are we going to do about the stone in shoe?' to which the foreign office minister replied 'not my stone, not my shoe'
@3 Apparently your description of him is shared by every host he has ever stayed with.
I love that sunbathing is a human right now. I am going to insist, nay demand, that my government finances a holiday in the sun for me. I shall go to the highest court in the land until I get it!!! Along with the entire population of the UK who can't remember what the sun looks like, our weather has been dire of late.
The truth is one only needs five minutes of daylight per day - sans suncream - to get all the vitamin D you need and he can stand on the balcony where he gives his press conferences for that.
I have no time for either Assange or Snowden. In the case of Assange, I agree with Anglotino's description. Plus the small matter of being a coward. As far as Snowden is concerned, my first view is on the breach of trust. Not someone who should ever be employed by anyone ever again. But I think he does share a couple of attributes with Assange. The arrogant little twerp! Oh, and he's a coward as well.
Assange recommends whistleblower Snowden seek refuge in Latinamerica
first of all, for all you government loud mouth puppets out there, Snowden did the right thing, because the US government (that suppose to work for the people, you know, they are public servants, not masters) HAS NO RIGHT to spy on in citizens neither on foreign nations. It ruined it's reputation.
Now, Assange is right. the place for Snowden in South America would be Brazil, Equador, Venezuela, Argentina (but has it's question marks) and Surinam. Chile is a puppet (a suck up) state to the US, Peru, a great nation ( I prefer them than those copy cats no imagination down south of them) sadly keeps drinking the kool aid that the US government is their best friend, Colombia another puppet/suck up state of the US, Uruguay, uhmmm, yeah don't even bother, and neither is the rest (French Guiana, Guyana, central american countries and up north there that narco state El Mehico)
You seem angry about something? I wonder what it is?
Maybe you haven't got any toilet paper... Or perhaps you are just jealous of your neighbours who all seem to be doing better than your country, despite the Bolivarian socialist model.
As for Assange - he's a suspected rapist who is using his 'fame' to try and avoid going through the same process as the rest of us mere mortals.
Snowden, can do without Assange's feigned concern, and the association of being anywhere near Assange.
As for the Ecuadorian embassy staff, the only thing to do know is set fire to the embassy. Assange will either leave or burn. A win-win either way.
I see the Ecuadorian Foreign Minister is here for the Anniversary and Hague has agreed to meet with him, they seem confident that the Brits will let him leave
The Embassy.
If he thinks that Hague is going to hand them a propaganda victory that they can parade on the world stage, which they absolutely would do, they failed to learn anything from the 1982 Argentinian experience.
A short exposure is sufficient provided there is adequate skin exposure. The face and arms do not make VitD as effectively as the trunk and legs. Thus he will need to make his next speech in his shorts - sans gravitas.
fucking dildo....you are not a citizen of my country so go back up someones asshole like the good dildo that you are. I will send you some toilet paper so you can wipe.
CXan you show my in my Constitution, what article in particular that the US government does not have the right to spy (a term you are clueless to what it means) on it's own citizens in search of terrorist? American's have right to privacy of unreasonable search and seizures and that is in the homes.....not the internet of public air waves.
You are one of the angriest dildo's of SA yet. What is right to you is anything anti government....an anarchist. Get back in a stanky Ahole you fucking dildo.
I'm wondering if the Ecuadorian consulate staff have protections against a hostile work environment. Having him there in such small quarters, it's a modest facility they have there, has to be a major disruption. Or using the American version of the checklist: his behavior must be endured to keep the job... his behavior is pervasive ... his behavior is unwelcome... his behavior is keeping you from doing your job and enjoying the resources needed to do the job...
When I think of what they go through, I think of the Penn Gillette/Gilbert Godfrey riff on what could be going in their office and hope that the staff are taking up some of their helpful hints (especially the one about tranqing him up, putting him in a diplomatic package and just leaving him in the corner for a few days just to mess with him).
(And also this guy Snowden is also not in the same spectrum of whistle blowing as Manning, who himself is NOT by law a whistleblower - for the military whistle-blowing exists but must follow strict avenues, which he could have but he went for the glory. He's also not bright since he has put himself up as a guest of a territory that now answers to Beijing who would LOVE some quality time with him).
The section on Assange and what it must be like to work at the Ecuadorian consulate in London starts at 5:10 minutes and goes on for 15-20 minutes or so... Mind you that given the amount of time they have had to put up with him, they may be describing a far milder scenario than what is happening at present. Be warned that it contains potty language and Gilbert Gottfried so use headphones and you HAVE been warned. Also if you are curious about the other part of the title, I waive all responsibility and you probably should look at the earlier show with a similar title to get all the context and please inspect your calamari before eating it.
If by that you mean that I want to see a man accused of rape go through due process, like the rest of us mere mortals would have to, then yes I suppose I am.
Rapists are foul creatures, and come from all backgrounds. Just because Assange has some celebrity about him doesn't make him above the law.
Besides, I was just offering an alternative to the poor Ecuadorian embassy staff, who have to suffer his odious and arrogant presence everyday.
Looks like Ecuador fumbled the ball on this one. They thought they'd grab a few headlines around the world, and it would be all over and done with in a few days.
However, as they are learning, the British will what is right not just what is convenient.
Assange is wanted to answer charges of rape. He took his case to the courts in the UK to try and stop the extradition to Sweden. The courts didn't believe his 'conspiracy' theory, hence why he ran and hid in the only embassy stupid enough to actually take him.
Let him rot there forever. It matters not, and the UK police don't mind, as they are earning some good overtime.
As for Snowden, and regardless of why he did what he did, I think he's going to find himself on a one way trip to mainland China. One way or another, he'll tell the Chinese authorities everything, betraying his own country in the process.
The Chinese will either keep him around for 'show' or kick him out to the wolves once they have no more use for him.
Either way, his future isn't going to be good. Stupid to go to Hong Kong. He should've picked New Zealand, Fiji or Australia instead.
Lep@20

Not satisfied with that you proceed to pontificate on Snowden' moral sensibilities when he did not want to be incorporated into activities that the people of a democratic country where not to be informed of,and to add to such a single minded misunderstanding of Snowden's position you choose, misguidely,to advise him on his next move.

@16 Please, miss. Please, miss. I have an idea. Exterminate all argies. Nobody needs an argie. Difficult to distinguish between an argie and shit anyway. Probably best to take the view that argies aren't human. Therefore, eliminate shit!
Well we now have Snowden sticking his foot in a fine piece of horse mess and blabbing out about that things that the NSA are acutally ~supposed~ to do, like counterspy on the Chinese by doing a little counter hacking (which the PRC blithely do) themselves! If he wanted to take the high ground (of which even Al Franken disapproves now that his pal is in office and the key to the switchboard office) he could have just leaked PRISM and then went to New Zealand, who are none too pleased about US Justice Dept heavy-handedness, and hang with Kim Dotcom, and not be obligated by his hosts Julian-Style to be selective in his leaking. But no. He was stupid and went to a Chinese territory (Hong Kong) who are not at best terms with the US and even then he couldn't keep his mouth shut. At this point, to bowdlerize the phrase, I can file my sympathy for him between sh!t and syphilis. (And hey, we can find room for him there too!)
#22
No Yuleno I offer my opinion, and since a live in a free and democratic country I'm allowed to voice my opinion.
Living in such a country doesn't mean you can get opinionated as you please. No one is going to do anything because you say something.I know you have difficulty understanding some things but if you think, listen and lower your certainty in what you post as being worthwhile,it might be better for you.Just because you have an 'education' you need to use the knowledge correctly. You haven't finished and become able to advise someone like Snowden.Your education doesn't give you that ability, does it?And your 'education' is far from complete and finished.
You have to love posters/trolls/puppets like Yuleno, they are always infallible, they are the only ones who understand the subject and their opinions are the only ones that count, if you don't agree you must uneducated.
Assange is a coward, he is to frightened to go to the courts in Sweden, extradition to the US is just a smokescreen. He could not care a toss about Snowden.
Snowden is a plonker, if you work for someone, sign a non-disclosure agreement, you then break this agreement, you can only expect to be in trouble.

Snowden is a plonker, if you work for someone, sign a non-disclosure agreement, you then break this agreement, you can only expect to be in trouble.
Again, that would be true if your employer stayed legal. You know why whistleblowers have legal backing don't you.Or are you in wonderland.Get real and post something that can pass for sensible instead of posting something along the lines of a gang member posting to his gang.Dear me!
Snowden is not a whistler for the shear fact that what NSA is doing is not illegal. One can argue the usefulness, the infringement of peoples civil liberties until they are blue in the face, the fact will never change the reality that what they are doing is legal......period. Real countries need to protect their citizens, be it from terrorism by scanning electronic data or something as simple as H1N1 by PROVIDING A VACCINE.
Certainly two scenarios can exist in this program:
1-The NSA is scanning data and using a highly sophisticated algorithm to search and identify key words or data points i.e. Bombs, explosives, etc., etc... This causes a further drilldown into the data and continues on this path and ultimately reaches a human level of review.
2-The NSA is randomly looking through emails, phone calls, i.e.…”…hey Bob, check this call out……he’s buying pot! Let’s organize a raid.”
Scenario #1 highly likely and Scenario # 2……highly unlikely.
Now you take someone like Snowden who gets a high level security clearance, signs non-disclosure statements, secrecy disclosures and works with high grade classified data, sees a program he disagrees with from his moral standards, then discloses this information to the media...no, this is not a whistleblower, this is a treasonous act all based on one’s self standards of right and wrong. He is not charged with protecting the lives 317,000,000 citizens. The constitution does not give him the right to trump the laws that elected officials acted upon. Most Americans will gladly allow the government to read their email if it allows them to fly safety on a jet from point A to point B. Criminals may be concerned but changes are high they even they will be by-passed as they hunt is for terrorists. So all you trolls from Mendoza, Paraguay and wherever, please continue to refute I these actions all the while you openly support the Taliban and Al Qaeda……your future trading partners in Mercosur.
You have not the slightest clue what democracy, so why oink about it?
You are so intelligent yulena, please tell me what they did on the or else side of your equation?
Privacy, protection and democracy are apples, oranges and mangos. Are you incapable of staying focus. So please......what is the or else that happened? I really want to know..........some links with examples of the NSA using the or else?
You come out of your cave every 3 or 4 months and one would think you would have something to say. I really though you, as an ancient old commie was a has been. Now, I am convinced you were a never was striving to be a might have been.
I am me, not tyo please feces as yourseff, not to please anyone at one all. Tell me yulena, were you paroled or released early for good behavior? Ashame you were not on the train the other day, then again, perhaps you were.
