He should send a clear message to CFK, one should not steal from one's country ! not being religious myself but I don't see anything wrong in the popes letter ! At least he's speaking his mind and not keeping silent over key issues like the last pope !!

He has a great job then, starting by the sale of the whole properties a jewelry of the catholic church around the world and spent that money to serve the people, not priest (have you seen a slim one....???).
That church has a glassed roof on that issue....which other has used the power of the money more than this one to control the world from the begining of the history...???
Have anyone seen a poor chatolic priest or bishop, with bad feeding and clothing and studying.....??? Of course not, because they abuse of the people trust and get their money for their own profit......
So......Francis, please shut up your dirty mouse and bring back the peple´s money around the world......

You are wrong.....was my clever grandpa who went away from the church when he realized what to be a priest meant......and then he came here to build a family working as a shearer and butcher/slaughter mainly at this Patanonian city of Punta Arenas.
I´ve never been at the catholic church because I knew through my grandpa what it has meant for the mankind.
Hope soon this church, and better all of them, will be out of order because day by day more people understand that they are no necessary at all for a better understanding between the different people and etnics over the globe.....

“every economic and political theory or action must set about providing each inhabitant of the planet with the minimum wherewithal to live in dignity and freedom, with the possibility of supporting a family, educating children, praising God and developing one's own human potential. This is the main thing; in the absence of such a vision, all economic activity is meaningless”.

Well, there you go, papal authority for a “crusade”. Does Assad provide “dignity and freedom”? Not when he tries to annihilate his own people. Although there is an element of religious intolerance. The government is, essentially, Shia Islam. And the majority of the population is Sunni Islam. Shias and Sunnis are not “friendly”. And how does killing 93,000 of one's own population mesh with the proper role of “government”? Who started the problem? Well, there were peaceful protests. Until Assad ordered the Syrian army to shoot. So let's do the “right thing”. Assad, his “family”, the Ba'ath party, supporters. Cut the head off the monster. Assad is just a middle-eastern Hitler.

I don't think it is to the credit of anyone to introduce comments concerning their religion or lack of it!

Pope Francis has the right, just like any citizen has, to write to a prominent politician concerning his fears and opinion.

Perhaps he should try leading by example, he can start with his own bank, I believe it has substantial assets or is that a papal secret?

That's the point....anyone can make his own propositions B UT he must start with the example, more when his history show us that NEVER his institution has done what it propose......
Tolerance.....the catholic church is responsable for the murder of ten of thousend people that believe in other gods or in non.....
Peace.....the worst and cruelest wars have had as the main performer the catholic church.....
Equity.....Ever the richest ones have been the church representatives and its devotes leaders in the catholic confesional Gvts. with the highest levels of poverty for the majority of the population. With the assets that it counts a half of the poors of the world would satisfy their basic needings, for sure.....
Transparency......What a hell....no words necessary to explain that this church is the darkest organization in the world to hide all of their sins....starting for sexual abuses with children....the secrecy of the pope election....the interference in the political process outside the Vatican borders.....
    And so on.....
I must say that all the religions have their own deep failures but never at the same level of this one were its maximun leader pretend to give moral lesson to others.....
The Cosa Nostra is a kiddy club compared with this sinister church......
As Marx used to say, and it´s the only thing I agree with him, the religión is the opium of the people......but anyone have the right to choose how he can be dead......

    No disrespect Mr Pope,
But considering he is giving nearly 12 billion of our money to others,

You may take your insult and shove it where the sun don’t shine,

    Still,
You could always condemn these corrupt 3rd and 4rth world countries that sit back in luxury whilst their people starve..

    Could you not..

Remember the soap on a rope?

This is a pope without a hope.

And God01: try writing to Cameron and hope to see YOUR letter as headlines anywhere? Ha, ha, ha.

Papal doublespeak carries very little authority, morally or otherwise, in the United Kingdom.

he should sort his own house first - plenty of money and paedophiles there that require his attention before he starts trying to win votes elsewhere.

    Hi, Anbar

He is already reforming IOR and Curia, and battling paedophiles. With all the self-criticism needed. Surely not looking for votes, martyrdom is a more probable scenario.

The message is not for Cameron but for all the G8 leaders, why do many people react so angry? Can´t forget that comes from Argentina? that should be childish!

His message about human rights and the role of money and economics is the same of 100 years ago. That is not a flaw but a virtue.

    Regards.
