Only against their own people AND, the best part is the creditors come and take their assets to sell off, something we Argentine's will not let happen. And Detroit does not get to choose in anything that happens.......a trustee oversees the sale. Maybe that's what Argentina should do.......file bankruptcy, have a trustee take over and sell off any assets.

Not quite little one. Argentina's default and Detroit 's bankruptcy are far from the same. However both were greedy and both ran into the ground by liberals, but the similarities end there.

1- Detroit does not get to dictate terms, like Argentina did
2-Detroit is a State and not a nation
3-Detroit is handed over to a trustee in Chapter 9
4-Everything that Detroit owns, land, buildings, vehicles, plains, trains and ships... are liquidated at auction and the proceeds go to pay off creditors according to classification

If you think it is the same, you are a moron......or a half bred nit. If Argentina sold it's assets to pay it's debt, they would have been looked at differently. No one will be coming after Detroit when it's over. The loser's here.....retired city workers.

#4 is that to me idle? Not an expletive.......but liberals and conservatives alike are damaging. Moderate, negotiatable and compromise are the operative words that are being overlooked by both extremes.

Poppy, Detroit is a city in the sate of Michigan. Mistakes like that make you sound like Tinman. More importantly. This is the background to the 1987 film ROBOCOP. With a bankrupt Detroit taken over by a megacorp OCP.

Correct my foolish error in typing slower than the thoughts. But the point is to poster #1 in that it is far from a default in that Detroit is appointed an overseer, the trustee in temporary manage Detroit during this process. Detroit does not and cannot dictate terms of anything to the creditors. Assets may be sold.
Comparing me to tinman because of my error.....seriously now.

This from Detroit is long over due. The heyday of Motor City has been over since the 70's and Detroit failed to adapt. That coupled with an exodus of people ......they were brains dead and remained on life support. I think a lot of US cities need to look long and hard at this case.

NML will buy something at a knockdown price like a good capitalist body would do.But only if they can make on the deal, thus facilitating another robbery of the citizen of detroit(and the good old USA),and who will ask what protection the individual gets from the nation.New Orleans will be a good place to start enquiring.God bless Detroit and f... I don't have to be talking about the laws of the USA seen as it is a capitalist country, dummy, but I am able to highlights the problems of the system.Like having a claim to enrich people unless it can't provide you with jobs. And then it withdraws what you should have gained.
Hope your job in organic food is in a suitable area because you'd be in danger if you where in Detroit.
And don't make out the people of Detroit are responsible because no one will believe that.Unless???????

The “Fake Dany Berger” striking again why I’m not surprised?

Security level here in MP seems to be not an issue at all I guess.

    Anyway...

This is “Default” and creditors will get a haircut of 90% over the nominal value of “Destroy debt”.

I guess that is an opportunity business to buy “Destroy debt” at 10% of it nominal value and then go to Thomas Griesa happy judge and claim the full payment.

May be Argentina can have a kind of revenge here by buying some just little debt and when all the expensive restructuring debt process is made go into court as a holdout and claim the payment in full.

That will be very funny to see...

Amexican destruction slow but steady, dollar collapse coming soon. Ameros perhaps or Patamexican currency. Well time will tell.

Thankfully I live in Argentina and no province in default and happy people.

@12Yuleno - “And don't make out the people of Detroit are responsible because no one will believe that.”

How could anyone believe anything other than they were very irresponsible!?

The “people of Detroit” spent “$15B” more than they had!

Did they see a problem after spending $1B more than they had and try to solve it?

Did they than see the problem after spending $2B more than they had?

After they reached spending $10B more than they had, did they do something?

No, they didn't address the issue until they had to at $15B in debt.

The “people of the U.S.” are also “irresponsible” for a “$15T”!!! That is, more clearly, “$15,000 Billion” of debt!!!

People are responsible for their government.

    That is quite a list.

Global debt is pretty high, the global economic depression is pretty bad.

    Any relation?

Does all that borrowing “stimulate”, or “depress”, or the two are not related?

I am sure that there is a fine balance somewhere between stimulate and depress that politicians have yet to find or even bother to look for. I do not know how it is in your country, but it's pretty tough to get a hold and control elected officials. Oh sure we can toss them out and we do. It is the other ones that I can't vote for in another state.......it's tough to change.

It has been impossible to get Congress to stop borrowing more and more money. They say Bill Clinton managed it, and I'll give him credit, he came real close. But if he did balance things, why do we have $15,000 billion of debt. Because things returned to normal right after Clinton.

Perhaps the U.S. Constitution needs to have a “check & balance” added to it. Perhaps that is the only way. But perhaps the U.S. is too important to the global economy to have such rigid fiscal constraint placed on its federal government. But, with no really strong constraint, Congress has proven, it can't stop borrowing.

All such efforts towards a BB Ammendment have been nuked. So, the Federal Govt. is doing what the city of Detroit is doing. They realize they have to control borrowing, but keep on borrowing (huge amounts). Then they will tell the world “we need a fresh start, free from crushing debts”. They made the crushing debts but they make it seem like someone else is crushing them.

Obama will bail out Detroit (actually your great grandchildren and mine will), and China will gladly bail out the U.S. I might be mistaken but I think I read Obama has already one time even thanked China for helping the U.S. out with loans.

The people of the U.S. are responsible for this. They get real pissed at the fiscal conservatives (repubs) when the federal government gets shut down. The bureaucrats are the first protected from a fiscal crisis and they are the ones that threw all the money away in the first place (Do you think the public workplace is a particularly trying work environment?).

It is also political division that has lead to this. It would probably be better to continue liberal vs. conservative squabbles after the $15,000 billion debt is dealt with, but it won't happen. Meanwhile, Rome is burning.

I agree with many of your points Bush. However I do not feel that polarization was as great is it is now prior to Clinton. I've always felt that two caucuses was a good part of the problem. While there of other minor parties, they are forced to caucus with D or R. One or two more caucus groups and they parties would be forced to negotiate and compromise.

As the liberals continue to be activists with the working peoples money by giving it away to too many people, they conservatives are the first to cut money on education, social security, roads, bridges, healthcare....yet increases to the military without and checks , balances or controls. I think that these coming mid terms in 2014 should be interesting.

You are from the USA, or you say, then you realize that you can vote the people out in Massachusetts for no doing what they were expected and over this past decade we've seen the people ....long timers to evicted. However you still have people voting their own way in 49 other states. But I agree on the BB amendment. We have it in Massachusetts and a few other states do too. But that alone is not enough, the president needs a smartly designed line item veto.

“However you still have people voting their own way in 49 other states.”

The point you make about the limited influence of 1 state in 50 is valid.

But on the Federal level, does MA usually elect fiscally conservative candidates to the U.S. Congress that promote fiscal soundness? Not enough states are interested in this issue.

@22-Yuleno, how will America pull out of the debt hole it has dug? With guns?

History shows us that when a country has gone way overboard with unspeakable levels of debt, someone gets the shaft big time. I don't think the U.S. will shaft someone with their guns to solve our debt problem. I think our cretin politicians will bend over for Asia and become their vassal. That is, I think our cretin politicians will shaft the imbeciles that put them into power, the American people. If it happens something like that, it would be a just outcome.

Do you know of any other peoples or nations in the world that are currently experiencing this kind of justice related to borrowing too much money?

  • Captain Poppy

Bush consider Massachusetts is a fiscally balanced state in of itself, you need to see it's history over that past several decades. At the federal level I can't say we have as we are more a the type of state that favors people over corporations. But, we do have Republicans in office and prior to Patrick, we had a line of conservative governors. If you know anything about Massachusetts is that for a small state it is like two.....eastern Mass, the greater Boston area and Western Mass........everything else. Wmass tends to be a more conservation region than the east. Silvio Conte was a long time elected Republican from Wmass. But overall their are fiscal conservatives but they are not considered conservative because aside from cutting spending, they also cut it on the military. Today, a conservative is defined but cutting human service spending, cutting taxes and raising military spending as promoted by the republican presented budgets. And......just being from Massachusetts one is labelled off the start as a tax and spend liberal, yet the state always has a balanced budget. Even today the state congress is rejecting the governors request for tax increases. So I really guess to answer you question, one would need to define a conserative.....tea party conservation, republican conservative, old fashioned southern conservative (they use to be democrats from a historical perspective) or a religious freak wing bible belt conservative. How did your state vote?

I also disagree that the USA will ill capitulate to China because they own debt. That is a typical foreigner's POV. Of the 16,000 billion in debt....less than 30% is foreign and China owns slightly more than Japan. 1,200 billion in Chinese debt is hardly enough to make the USA get on it's knees, or default.

The USA needs a restricted line item veto and a BB amendment, but when it was proposed by both parties over the year, the opposing party rejected.

    Ch.9 was rejected for Detroit.

Detroit is corrupt, and those pensioners were part of a corrupt system, benefited from that corruption, and are corrupt bureaucrats themselves.

They totally deserve to be screwed, not protected.

Constitutionally protecting bureaucrat pensions is totally elitist. The pensions of real world people, who support those bureaucrats, are probably not protected by a Constitution. As I said, totally elitist. How on earth the people of Michigan permitted that is beyond me. They were not paying attention, and now although their pensions are not protected, they have to protect the pensions of their corrupt nobility.

Nope I have never been and you?

But you seem to have been exposed for a bit too long to Amexican propaganda.

Just a little example is the Rod Blagojevich (former Governor of Illinois) corruption Scandal when he tries to sell to the best bid Obama seat when hi was elected president.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/28/us/28blagojevich.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0

Also you have George Ryan former governor of Illinois that have a good record or bribery, extortion, state licenses selling, etc.

Otto Kerner, convicted by tax evasion and Bribery.
    Dan Walker fraud.
And this are only from Illinois.

Justice in US is another example and may be the most corrupted and racist in the western world where a black get 30 yeas for stealing an egg and top fraudsters get 3 years with air conditioned cell and room service.

That is one of the reason why Italian Mafia have found a fertile ground to grow and turn into organised crime because in US money talks and they bribed the police, judges, politicians, etc. and in exchange they got impunity for the criminal activities.

More recently US corruption and Mafia have turned to the Mexican borders exchanging Arms to Mexican cartels for drugs.

US govt. branch who was in charge to investigate de arm dealing allowed criminals to buy and sell the arm in Mexico with the excuse of being tracking the arms to reach fact bosses.

They said later that they lost the tracking of those arms after thousands of Arms being sold in Mexico, this is clear a corruption case. And seems that none is accountable for that.

Well we can be the whole day talking about corruption is USAMEX.

That is the reason why US is going to the drains.

@34 Dany “The whole U.S. is corrupted”

You bring up one state, Illinois (i.e. Chicago), as an example of “the whole U.S.”

And then you say, “and this is just Illinois” . That implies Illinois is the clean state and the other 49 are even worse. Most states are a lot cleaner than IL. If you want to paint the whole country as corrupt by using one state, use NJ.

Justice works completely differently for people with money, in every last corner of this planet. It isn't right, but trying to say the U.S. is more corrupt than the rest of the world for this when the rest of the world is equally corrupt in this truth, is just more leftist trickery with words.

Your whole argument is just a bunch of fork-tongued trickery with words. Typical of North Korean communist propaganda liars. Nestor and CFK and Chavez and Maduro also believed in twisting words and deceiving the masses like snakes. CFK and Maduro still believe this and their governments are clearly practicing it (INDEC is a lie). They say they are for the people but they feed them with piles and piles of fork-tongued putrid lies. Total disrespect for their people.

CFK goes on and on about how she is for the people, if she is, why does she lie to them? Answer, because she is not for the people, so she can lie to them. She is nothing more than a low-life North Korean commie liar, and you swallow all that diarrhea.

The press in the U.S. is either independent, or leftist communist. They do not just ignore government corruption and not report it, unless it is leftist corruption. And they are definitely more capable of obtaining “real” evidence of it than you are.

Now, answer a question, because the “US is going to the drains”,

In your opinion, which country on this planet will be the next at the top? Which country in your opinion will soon replace the United States as a global leader and the country most able to influence other countries? Tell everybody here which country you think that will be.

I addressed directly the “bull” in 34's post.

    1) One cannot extend a situation in one state to represent the situation in an entire country.
    2) Wealthy people in humanity, not just the US, influence the justice they are due. So, one can't use this reality to say the US is more corrupt that the rest of the world, when the whole world exhibits the same behaviour. I have not misinterpreted these arguments. They were clearly delivered.
    3) I pointed out the flaws in the previous post (see 1) to two of three of its points and concluded that the argument was “bull” (snake deceptions).
    4) I addressed the points of corruption in Illinois and I addressed the point of corruption in the US Justice system, I did not address the point of corruption at the Mexican border. So, my post was obviously related to the previous post.

    As well,

I have no sympathy for the Detroit pensioners who are probably going to be protected by an amendment in that state's constitution. They were part of and earned their pension in a corrupt system. That system ruined Detroit and seriously harmed its people.

Those pensioners were part of a corrupt system that has led to the eminent suffering of the “ordinary” people of Detroit. You are espousing sympathy for professional liars, by a twisted representation (a deception, a lie) that they are of the “ordinary” people. They have had a secure livelihood thru all of Detroit's and the US's current economic woes, by lying. And you attempt to hide those bureaucrat thieves under the cloak of the “ordinary” people. You are protecting thieves.

I am no more than an ordinary person myself and I believe in, and do, care for people around me.

Sympathy that ignores personal responsibility is a lie, it causes further damage to the people you purport to care about. It is a destructive diversion that circumvents real help and really puts a group of people behind and at a further disadvantage that is even harder for them to dig themselves out of.

Dany@34 discusses corruption in the US. One point he made concerned the state of Illinois and he used examples of corruption from that state. His final sentence of that point was, “and these are only from Illinois”.

The point he made is legitimately interpreted as an attempt to extend the corrupt practices of one state to the whole country of the US. That IS such an attempt. It does attempt to IMPLY that the whole US is corrupt because the state of Illinois is.

That and the remainder of my post was not a rant and I specifically explained why in post #38. I hope you read this post again more carefully.

English is my native language, that might be the problem here.

Now I might be digressing but I wanted to point out again as I did in other posts you didn't like.

CFK is a liar to her own people, INDEC would be one example. She deceives her own people. That can't be good. Her method of communication to the Argentine people seems very similar to North Korean propaganda techniques. That can't be good either.

Her government's deceiving lies, propaganda, and corruption have put the “ordinary” Argentine people in a deep hole the same way the regular working class people of Detroit have been put in a hole. They are struggling, and the next time I hope they choose better leaders for themselves and their children.

The current disgraceful president of Argentina, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, gave a speech at Harvard University, Kennedy School on Thursday September 27th 2012 . She made herself look like a complete fool, LIED about being a successful lawyer! She has no law degree and has never been involved with any type of lawsuit!! She is a populist, demagogue, crook and one of the biggest liars ever to exist in politics! She should be impeached for destroying a country, taking people's futures away all to make herself into a millionaire. In Argentina we call her “Kretina” because that is the name that best fits her. Harvard saw for themselves what a piece of garbage liar we have for a president in Argentina! The KIRCHNER government censors websites and media that they don't like or that speak of them negatively! Save Argentina from this monster and her monster allies happily the late Hugo Chavez, and the “president” of Iran Mahmud Ahmadineyad. This is how they get votes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyPC0SD0PGw

Nilda Garre is the head of the ministry of security in Argentina. She is a good “friend” of the corrupt president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner. Nilda Garre was formerly part of a leftist terrorist military organization in the 1970s called “Montoneros”. Nilda Garre was known as “Comandante Teresa” in the Montoneros Terrorist Group which was responsible for planting bombs and deaths of thousands of people in Argnentina at the time. Cristina Kirchner andI am please to say her dead husband Nestor Kirchner were also terrorists in the Montoneros. They have all become millionaires by stealing people's money and expropriating companies and personal belongings of business owners saying they “are using the goods for social justice, to give to the poor” which they have never done, they steal money, property, land, businesses and keep the money for themselves, friends and family. They are the Oligarchy of Argentina and hide behind the lie of Peronism (Nazism). Cristina Kirc

Cristina Kirchner has kept many items of jewelry that belonged to Eva Peron. Eva Peron was given millions of dollars worth of jewelery and art by the Nazis which was in exchange for the Nazis being able to escape and hide in Argentina for the rest of their lives. Cristina Kirchner owns jewelry that belonged to jews that were killed in Hitler's germany. I've seen it. May she rot in hell after she burns in an oven made from Israel.

Alicia Kirchner, sister of ex-president NOW DEAD Nestor Kirchner and sister in law of president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, the most corrupt president ever to be in Argentina. Alicia Kirchner is leader of a group called “Kolina” which she tries to diguise as a social organization but is really a group of young armed militants to keep the president in power and remove any opposition. Alicia Kirchner has “purchased” federally owned land for pennies and has resold that land in the south of Argentina for millions of dollars of course this money goes directly to her, and the land belongs to the citizens of Argentina. Alicia Kirchner's daughter, Romina Mercado is a criminal has several criminal charges against her.
These are 3 “presidents” of south american nations, that have caused destruction of societies, have illegally stolen private property, public lands, are involved in the trade of illegal drugs accross borders and are populist demagogues. They are secretly gathering weapons, guns, drones, tanks, and even biologial weapons and are secretly planning to wage a war on their citizens and other countries and governments that oppose them. They will do anything to stay in power and steal money and private property from the citizens of their countries. Cristina Kirchner uses AFIP (Agencia Federal de Ingresos Publicos) as the secret police to break into peoples private homes and businesses to accuse them of tax evasion which is invented by her to confiscate money and private property. Cristina Kirchner has personal wealth of approximately $8

    Its alive! Its alive!

The question is should it remain alive. Repents on whether it has provided enough entertainment or not. If there is enough demand then the Captain can live.

But, Captain, you must work on your character. So, if you want to assume the character of an American you must learn something about America. And stop laughing (the Captain is sitting across the table laughing his head off).

Oh, let the good times roll.

Rarely a month seems to pass when there isn't some state legislator in New York facing indictment.

... Shirley Huntley, was sentenced Thursday to spend a year and a day in prison for stealing $88,000 from a charity she controlled. A day earlier, a federal judge had unsealed records showing that Huntley last year secretly recorded conversations with seven other elected officials she suspected of corruption.

Among them were Malcolm Smith and John Sampson, both former Democratic leaders of the Senate who have already been indicted.

“It's a culture of corruption, there's no question about it,” say Seymour Lachman, a former Democratic state senator. “It's very sad that you have at this point in New York state, ... more corrupt officials than any other state.”

There's been a torrent of corruption charges recently, but there's nothing new about this. Bill Mahoney... New York Public Interest Research Group, says he counts 32 scandals involving legislators or state officials over the past seven years.

“It would be surprising to go the rest of the year without seeing a few more scandals emerge,” he says...

    1. Single-Party Dominance

For decades, Democrats have controlled the state Assembly, while Republicans have usually controlled the Senate. The Senate has flipped back and forth in recent years, but when it comes to individual districts, there's hardly any partisan competition at all.

District lines are drawn in ways that not only favor one party or the other, but insulate most incumbents from primary challenges as well.

“Once they manage to get in, their districts are effectively uncompetitive,” says Richard Briffault, a law professor at Columbia University. “They don't really have to worry about being challenged or critiqued by anyone.”

Sorry out of chars 2000 chars no enough to tal about corruption in USAMEX.

The “tit juice” thing is good. That's the sort of thing the Brit scum like.

What is Logan anyway? Is it a state like Detroit?

If you are going to adopt an American persona you need to know that America has 50 states and none of them are named Detroit or Logan. And you need to know this without referring to Wikipedia.

Your persona already sounds more British than American. Yankeeboy is doing a better job with his American persona than you.

I am already at the lunch spot. See you in a few minutes and we will discuss.

I love burritos and tacos....don't. However....only in moderation. It's not exactly the healthiest food in the world. Then again......I like empanadas also. Not really sure where you are straying tobi and myself from?
Is it that I am suppose to be annoyed, irked or irritated by your innuedos of Mexico and the USA.....is that it? Or when DB Baxter calls me poopy? I assume as we all do that you have to resort to this.....you know......insults and the talking yourself into believing the things you saw.
And you are correct.....“I don't seem to be from US Tijuana perhaps.”

shoot me an email if you have balls at m.cher1160@outlook.com and I will send you my IP to prove my location. But that takes balls so my email inbox remains empty.

But you forget that I have seen your “American” passports already. Its great what our documentation department can do isn't it.

I think that you should post a stat dec and put $100000 in eschrow to back it up. Would be the easiest $100000 I ever made except that you don't have the money do you.

Also you need to post a photo of yourself standing in Harvard Quad holding a copy of today's Boston Herald.

    In anticipation...

#59....oh tobi...........did you find Logan yet?

Tell me, that would prove what, that a picture of a man is standing in front of Harvard holding a picture.....You know in advance of what I look like?

Tobi your momma's tits have stopped chaffing. Go back and suckle before the electricity goes out again.

    PS

No read the Herald......it's a trash rag like the NY Post, the Enquirer and the Star. The Globe is the paper of choice. Your research is faltering. Shall I send you a Sunday copy? It's the big edition, about two inches think.

Just an FYI, if you want some respect as an individual posting here, regardless of being Argentine or not, stick with one screen name. Perhaps it's a youth thing that makes you so intelligent in one hand and naive in the other.

If you email my account and I respond, you can trace exactly where I am emailing from.....but you know that.
