In an extremely aggressive speech in the aftermath of primaries defeat, Argentine president Cristina Fernandez blasted the media for misinterpreting electoral results, charged against the Mayor of Tigre Sergio Massa who was the big winner on Sunday, pressed for full commitment from her allies and promised more of the same in support of the ‘socially inclusive model’. Unhinged is probably the best adjective I could use for this woman.

I so want her to win and yet almost feel that she deserves to relax in a retirement village away from the stress.

But another term of her rule will almost guarantee the Falkland Island's eventual independence.

'Finally she called on all Kirchnerite militants to visit ‘home by home’ to show and explain the model and convince the electorate ‘to support us next October 27’'
I think that means kick their doors in and bash them up.....

Can anyone explain 'the model ' to me? Without bashing me up?

What kind of a president calls on “Militants” to go house to house? A threat.....hardly one disguised at that. She is the great divider...nothing more. Great leaders unite differences, she divides.

“Cristina Fernandez then picked on the media by celebrating the fact that Kirchnerism had won in Antarctica... “The first results always come from Antarctica, but this time it was our victory and not a word”...“

...where the electorate was only 120 people, of which 87 voted and 46 voted for her.

”... and in an indigenous Qom community in the north of the country. ... “the same in the Qom community, because we won”, ...”

but “the chief of the Qom community ... indicated that the results can be explained because “we were sent to vote in another district”.”

So the two “victories” she highlighted were 3 people who tipped the balance in Antarctica and a distorted Qom result.

“If this is not bias media, then you tell me!”

    1. It is now mainly her media.
    2. Maybe the media recognised these events as being insignificant given all of the other news?

“...complained Cristina Fernandez adding she had to find out reading the results.”

Clutching at straws. If these were the only two bits of good news for her then she's finished.

'Defiant fury' ain't no way to win hearts 'n minds.

And if the house by house militant visits are of the Maduro variety
    - “I have a list of all of you that didn't vote for me!” ,
then neither Kirchnerite hearts, Kirchnerite minds, nor Kirchnerite defiant fury will win the votes of these households.

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner reappeared in public yesterday for the first time since her coalition’s defeat in the primaries and delivered a harsh speech calling business and union leaders to “seriously discuss” the Kirchnerite economic model.

Can anyone tell me what the Kirchnerite model is that businesses will listen to a crazy, commie bitch? Businesses already have seen what she has done for imports, union leaders obviously love her.....to death.

The chief of the Qom people not only said that his people had been sent elsewhere to vote, but that “other people who we do not know were brought to La Primavera to vote for the governing party”!!!!!!!!!

It would have been better if CFK had not mentioned either of these situations; in Antartica the scientists and military personel depend totally on the federal government for food and fuel, and the statement of Mr. Diaz shows that, as usual, the Frente para la Victoria are as corrupt as ever!!!!!!!!!

At least in Argentina voters can still be bought. In the USA/Europe no need for that since there is NO CHOICE at all: both parties have the same agenda. NO democracy, just 1984ism.

Argentina! Get rid of Cristina. Join Chile and Paraguay who love Brazil and Venezuela... for vacations only! In Brazil it will be much more difficult to get rid of Lula and Dilma, the most corrupt government this country has ever seen in all of its history! Here the situation will be as difficult as Cuba to get rid of the Castros.

@16 “At least in Argentina voters can still be bought.”

Good of you to admit that is what CFK has been doing.

“In the USA/Europe no need for that since there is NO CHOICE at all: both parties have the same agenda. NO democracy, just 1984ism.”

    The features of 1984 were:
    - State control of the media. Argentina is much closer to this than the USA/Europe with only one major independent media group.
    - Big Brother - a head of state who is “never wrong”. CFK is big brother/sister. Heads of USA/Europe will admit errors, ask for advice and do interviews to discuss issues.
    - The Thought Police = La Campora. If you don't agree with us we'll “persuade” you to our point of view...

Democracy is not defined by a party's agenda, it is a process. Given all of the vote buying and manipulation with the Qom vote and no doubt other dubious practices I think that the democratic process in Argentina is not as open, free or fair as it is in the USA/Europe.

”This is not match for substitutes, it’s a match for the main players of interests and lobbies”. (CFK)

    She is being disingenuous;
the winners were not her and her team,
and they are not 'substitutes' in the footballing sense - they are the opposite team, and they BEAT HER.

She is losing the matches, and she will be relegated.

Her attempt at goal - the banks criminally taking the people's money - may well be true, I don't know; but she has frequently used the same play, and all Argentina knows that there are many own goals of state embezzlement that are totting up the score against her and her team.

    No, we are into the end-game, and her team is losing badly;
the final score could be a record score against the incumbent government.

There is no doubt in my mind that the club shareholders will get shot of the liability and replace her and her management with a substantially better total team of players.

DON'T WORRY GUYS, THE LADY IS TAKING NOTE.
It was expectable that many people who are detractors of kirchnerism, start arguing about the end of cycle theory, because of the result of last sunday, however, this is evident that they don't realise that they are commiting the same stupid mistake than in 2009, when after the legislative defeat, many people predicted the end of kirchnerim.
This kind of mischievous lecture, can be understood only because of the despising and the underestimation that they often express in relation to c. f. k. Anybody can agree or not on her ideas, but it doesn't mean that they have to underestimate her, and invalid all the achievements that workers could have thanks to kirchnerist policies.
In contrary to what some people think, c. f. k. is not stupid, and she's taking note of the result of last sunday, because if her party repeats in october the same result, f. p. v. will continue controlling the congress, which is what really matters.
On the other hand, although her party didn't win in the most populated districts, f. p. v. was the most voted party in all argentina, in fact, it got the 27,31% of the votes, followed by sergio massa's party, which got the 13,54%, the results of all the rest of parties were insignifficant. Not many parties around the world can enjoy the privilege of being the most voted party, after having been in office for ten years, this is a very important detaill that you all don't take into account, due to you are too exited celebrating the result.
I know that anybody can say that the 72% of voters didn't vote for f.p.v., however they don't take into account either that arg. is not a parlamentary democracy like the u.k., that's why people often change their votes in this kind of elections, in contrary to what happens in a presidential election, where there is much more polarization.
She will know how to interpret the discontent of some people who didn't vote for f. p. v., and get a victory in 2015 for her candidat.

Axel, you are repeating the party line, but it doesn't wash!!!!!!!

If CFK is lucky and in October she gets the same result as she got last Sunday she will have LOST her Congressional majority!!!!!!!!!

If, as we all expect (even CFK expects) that the opposition increases its success rate, CFK will not even be first minority in Congress!!!!!!!!!!

You had better get used to the idea of supporting the losing side!!!!!!!!!

    Axel Arg,

Firstly I would like to invite you not to preach about CFK, Kirchnerism and your ethical superiority. Please, we don't need this. This is part of the usual speech and the retorical resources but we don't need this in this forum.

Secondly, unfortunately for her, good for the country and all of us CFK cycle will end during year 2015 simply because the National Constitution bans her for another term. So, you might not like it, but her presidency has an expiration date and it cannot be renewed.

Unless, failing her oaths, she would decide to modify the Constitution (by any means) and try to be re-reelected. Until that hipotetical moment she is done.

Another President, no matter if he/she is “her candidate”, or other Peronist candidate, he/she will be different from CFK and her presidency, simply because he/she will be another person followed buy other people and supported by other economic groups.

So, it doesn't matter whether Scioli, Massa, De Narvaez, or any other rich peronist oligarch, that would want to rule the country in the future.

So, you might hate to listen to this, but kirchnerism will be finished by end of year 2015. This can be seen now with the movements of all the peronist local leaders trying to find a place for the next years.

TG Argentina is still a republic and this means that the National Constitution puts limits to people from become “leaders” or “strongmen”. This includes her.

“But another term of her rule will almost guarantee the Falkland Island's eventual independence.”

Absolutely. The worst thing for the Falkland islands would be an Argentine president who talks to them, but also has the intelligence not to insult them by sending' Winnie the Pooh' books and Pingu videos.

If not CFK, I sincerely hope Gollum gets in (sorry Simon 68, you don't deserve this but......).

It's certainly not indigenous-what amazes me is how come the population is only 120 -couldn't be that the Argies don't like cold weather? That certainly counts as implanted.Hey all you Malvinistas-what is the total population of Argentines ACTUALLY BORN in Antarctica?

And do they continue to live there?

If not, the present population is implanted (your rules).

If she can't catch the seals, she could arrange a blubber swop with Maximo.

    @32
“In contrary to what some people think, c. f. k. is not stupid”

Hence all the money she's taken from Argentina and squirreled away in foreign bank accounts whilst denying Argentines the right to do so.

And Maximo has followed suit by loosing all that money earmarked for Aerolinas Argentinas-where did that go?
They've had the Argentine people for suckers(even worse than British politicians, and that's saying something).
Argentina deserves a decent leader, but that would decelerate the chance that the Falklands islanders will be forced to go for independence-so I say
PLEASE ELECT CFK-OR TIMMERMAN= Argentina has ZERO CHANCE of stealing the Falkland Islands.
