How many branches does RBC have in Argentina?
Looks like they intend to keep it that way.

So Stevie's comment about a fine for money laundering was, as usual, bollocks. Either he knew it was bollocks or he didn't understand what was going on.

”In effect in December 2008 the Royal Bank of Canada was fined the equivalent of 650.000 dollars for omissions in the implementation of the ‘integral scheme to prevent asset laundering and funding terrorism’, particularly referred to not reporting ‘suspicious operations’.”

So, FIVE years ago the bank omitted to tip off the Central Bank about “suspicious operations”. ALL the banks in the scheme have to decide for themselves what is “suspicious” and if they get it wrong they get fined.

Sounds like a money laundering business from the banks hold ROU Bank Licences into the coffers of the Central Bank OF THE ROU! So, if they were so bad why not remove their licence? Wouldn’t be able to fine them for nothing though would they?

No wonder when this latest fiasco happened the bank decided enough was enough.

“comments by other ‘official sources’ arguing that the fact that the bank is leaving is no tragedy,”, these comments I am SURE will have been made by the commie mates of the twat Pepe, the ones he stuffed into government jobs but otherwise would be unemployable. How else can they justify this quasi-legal act?

AND the Prosecutor was 15 minutes late which in Uruguay is still on-time, and I kid you not, but the raid went ahead as if they were “acting for the television cameras”.

Why is it that this lovely country is run by a bunch of children? Commie (sorry Steve, they ARE commies) children at that. These Marxist children are now upset that THEY are being criticise by the Uruguayan Association of Banks. I think thirty lashes on their backsides with a leather belt would help bring these stupid, stupid people to their senses.

Someone should take him out to pasture.

RBC have been in Uruguay since 1919, about half the time that Uruguay has been an independent nation and they are not concerned that RBC is pulling out.

You know what that smells of, something that Uruguay has an abundance of and falls out of the back end of a bull!!!!!

    Chris, old friend.
I think I told you they got fined... Didn't I tell you?
    I'm sure I did...

And by they way, grumpy. The fact that the bank is leaving, is no tragedy.

    ;)

Ok Chris. Elections are still 14 months away and by that time you will have your cityzenship so who are your candidates? Regardless of party of course. Who are the best men and women fitted for the job of running the country? IMO if Vasquez goes forward with a canditure he will win at a canter. I dont agree with all of his political ideas but I think he is a pragmatist in the art of can-do and a patriot. Economy? Astori? Getting a bit long in the tooth. Sendic perhaps? In spite of the name he seems to be doing a good job running the octopus that is Ancap. Agriculture? Aguerre is doing a damn good job but he has a few health problems so who? Transport this one rally needs sorting and the rail network resusitated. This sector cannot be held to ransom by 1,015 old union buffers who resists any typeof modernization or change
Ministries of Interior , Health, Social Security .... any ideas?

I don’t think you are Redpoll!

I think you are Stevie (or someone else) who has hijacked Redpoll’s tag, so until the REAL Redpoll posts I will keep my answer to myself.

That's too bad Chris, because redpoll makes a really fair point.
All you do is complaint, but you never present any alternatives.
And by the way, I would never speak about Sendic like redpoll...

Oh deearie me, woe is me! Little Red Riding Hood has been finally unmasked and de frocked by Big Bad Wolf Chris who is now pursuing the poor wee waif through the forest while red poll looks on with amusement. You can have that disguise if you want it Stevie though its a bit tattered!

I'm not sure I fully understand what you have going on here redpoll, but I'm quite sure I can manage without one of your multiple faces, so just keep it, thank you very mucho.

If that post above isn't yours, which I must admit sounds very likely, maybe you could answer it yourself...

@14 Just a rather warped sense of humour on my part
So I will put the question to you also
Who would you like to see in adeal next government?

  • Stevie

    That one is easy.
Mariana Mota or Constanza Moreira for head of state.
Possible rocade in the Ministeries, but Sendic for sure, and Rosadilla.
I'd let some of the socialist in too, they've proved themselves to be a great asset in the economical part (Astori, Vazquez)

    Now, you tell me...

    @ 12 Stevie

You are clearly reading my posts through heavily darkened glasses if all you think I do is “complaint”, perhaps it’s the fact that you do not LIKE my sensible, real world solutions!

BTW did you not see that Redp0ll used a ZERO for the “o”!

Not sure Sendic is at all suitable for the job at ANCAP, he has done nothing about the piss poor (even by Uruguayo standards) so called customer service and has not reduced petrol and diesel prices even with the background of falling “spot prices”. Perhaps your mate Pepe is raiding it to replace the cock-up money that came out of Pluna.

BTW you did not tell me that the RBC had been fined, you STATED that they were guilty of money laundering and had been fined for that,. That was UNTRUE, they fell foul of your commie (sorry – socialist) mates in the government deciding they had not reported something they should have reported but the government had not told them beforehand what it was. Another fuck-up by Pepe’s mates!

Pepe’s government is getting more like this lot by the minute:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQFKtI6gn9Y

Still he will be out on his ear soon, but it won’t matter to you will it, you still live in Sweden.

So, with all that, you're saying you have no clue, right Chris?
Because I never got your candidates...

And why do you need my adress? If you so dearly with for it to be in Swedn, I'm nobody to deny you that joy. Turkey has about the same effect. The country, that is...

    18 Stevie

As long as Vasquez gets in, even with all his faults like allowing his demented RCC wife the run of the governments abortion policy (now fixed) and stating cocaine should be legalised he is still head and shoulders over the competition.

VP - anybody but the Pepe / Toplinsky duo but somebody capable of chopping the fiscal drag by cutting the government hangers on and the over staffing, perhaps converting them into useful productive workers would be an excellent choice.

But it won’t happen because of all the political palm greasing that goes on when you have fractured parties joining together to “rule” as they do here.

    @ 20 Stevie

Yes, I realise I am an utter disappointment to you, living as I do in Uruguay, loving the place and paying all the taxes that I am due, on time and without spreading them over the year.

But you have been born here, even though you can no longer live here if you want your wife with you that is, and consider it amusing that I am, at the age of 67, failing to do in less than 29 months what it took you 30 years to do.

Yes I am an abject failure, I see that now.

(YES, I am taking the piss).

BTW Pepe has SAID he wants to be VP, so he is wrong again!
