The Government of Gibraltar has launched three “extremely limited edition” Gibraltar gold commemorative coins to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.

The series consists of just 70 coins cast in 22 carat gold and priced between £595 and £2,995.

The design depicts a portrait of the newly crowned young Queen in 1953, together with the image modelled by William Wyon of Queen Victoria, our longest reigning British monarch.

This image of Queen Victoria was used in the City Medal first struck 1837. The coins were produced by Tower Mint on behalf of the Gibraltar Government.

They are available in denominations of one, two and five sovereigns, priced at £595, £1,250 and £2,995 respectively.

The coins are sold in a capsule with a presentation box and its own certificate.

To arrange a private viewing please contact the Gibraltar Philatelic Bureau on telephone 200 75662 or by email glendon@gibraltar-stamps.com
