I think Barrosso is missing the point here. The Conservative Party are more EU-sceptic, because the country is. The British public only ever wanted a common market and we have been dragged into this hotch-potch of countries that are bleeding us dry. We want out of this mess and I am quite sure that many Scandinavians and Germans think the same.
The problem with Britians relationship with European institutions is that while other countries send their brighteset and best we use EU institutions to get reid of the unwanted, incompetent and boring who cannot hack it in national politics.
