Allowing herself to be photographed sans makeup stinks of political spin from where I'm sitting.

I think it is true. The operation is low-risk in a healthy person but she has heart and blood-pressure problems that would make any surgery risky.

I don't actually think she would get a sympathy vote on this because people are so disenchanted with her constant lies. More likely they will feel she is too ill to continue running the country.

“Cristina Fernandez’s surgery is considered low risk as it doesn’t involve contact with the brain, said Pedro Lylyk, a brain surgeon at the Eneri clinic in Buenos Aires.”

That would need to involve one in the first place. A year and a half ago she had cancer surgery for none existent cancer. Now she is having brain surgery for a none existent brain.

    Reality scenarios:

1-A feeble attempt to gain another sympathy vote as in her last campaign because of the death of Nasty Nestor. However I think the Argentines are exhausted of the BS and thievery.

2-Will she have an accident during surgery? The FvP's way of washing their hands of her?

Either way, after the elections, the wolves will turn and feed on themselves. She will be first in the oven.

Of course it is low risk. What is the worst that can happen?

Any odds that there will be some “mysterious” complication? Just a wee bit more insurance to garner more sympathy votes.

“Renewing his call for union and cooperation facing the unexpected news about the President’s health condition, Daniel Scioli said Argentineans must come “united with responsibility, leaving aside all confrontation spirit.” ”

Not at all good manners to milk the President's illness for maximum political gain - while she is under the knife. Is that the Argentine way?

    14) Do you have any idea of what Scioli has had put up with for 10 years now from Cristina and her hubby?? Still, Scioli has only himself to blame for...

@15 I was really countering the jibes on the board suggesting we shouldn't take pot shots at the President whilst she is ill. If Argentines are going make a meal out of her illness, it makes her fair game. That is politics.

I was following the story on the World section of the Daily Torygraph and below was a sponsored ad from a heating company “Do you need a new boiler?”

I had to raise a chuckle!

    Come gentlemen, respect please….
    She is dying,

We should show her the same respect as she has shown us in the past, please,

    Still,
The plastic is cracking, the face is drooping,
The head is a bleeding mess,

And no doubt its all our fault..lol

I was just thinking that Boudou hasn't taken her on the back of his (spit) Harley, has he?

Mind you these things are so slow you could only fall off the back by dropping off to sleep: ha, just realised that the banging and other assorted noises of the (spit) engine wouldn't allow that to happen.

#28 I stand by what I said, she has great natural features and looks much younger than her age even without makeup; even more importantly for true beauty, she's showing great dignity and poise in what must be a difficult and unwelcome situation

#29 Maybe you're intimidated? Not every man likes a strong woman...
