    ...well done Peter Higgs...University of Edinburgh but born a Geordie..
    Higgs Boson (God Particle)- the subatomic particle that explains why the Universe is how it is....
    Anyone remember the joke that did the rounds.....
    A Higgs boson walks into a church,
    “We don't allow Higgs bosons in here!” shouts the priest.
    The Higgs Boson says
    “But without me, how can you have mass?”
    ....yeah it was a nerd joke...

    The other nerd joke i heard was:

    The barman says I'm sorry we don't serve neutrinos”.
    A neutrino walks into a bar.

    But then the Italians realised they'd messed their numbers up and so the joke doesn't work anymore.
