In short Mr Margallo, what the people of Andalucia are telling you is that your actions are hurting them far more than Gibraltar. But I don't think he gives a toss about 7000 people in La Linea.

Spain, like Argyland, is an enemy state.

They've given up demoting Gibraltar out of the talks so now want to promote Andalucia into them. It's all about pre-emptively categorising the status of Gibraltar.

This will now continue until the Spanish government falls but nothing will change in Gibraltar.

Time to insist that the Boy Scouts of Gibraltar come in a 5th party with equal standing to Andalusia.

There is a major difference between Andalusia and Gibraltar. Whilst Andalusia is an “autonomous community”, it is also “part of the indissoluble unity of the Spanish nation”. Anyone noticed Gibraltar being “part of the indissoluble unity of the United Kingdom”? So Spain wants to “stack the deck” and have two bites at the cherry. Anyone think that Andalusia and Spain will “disagree”? But there is a solution. The “Spanish” side can be “represented” by Spain and Andalusia. The “British” side will be represented by England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Gibraltar. All with “equal status”. After all, the devolved administrations of Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales must be the equivalent of Spain's “autonomous communities”.

    Not difficult, is it Conq.;

    i. the United Kingdom of GB & NI, and
ii. the united kingdom of Spain,
discussing the Protectorate of Gibraltar in the presence of
    iii. Gibraltar.

Pity for the uk of Spain about the wording of the Treaty of Utrecht.

    LOL

    Treaty of Utrecht!

No pity for the UK. The UK could tear up the treaty tomorrow and Spain couldn't do a thing about it.

The UN charter totally trumps and negates the Treaty of Utrecht's condition of Spain being offered Gibraltar before any sovereignty changes. The UN has never put any limitation on Gibraltar's future sovereignty and never recognised the Treaty of Utrecht in its dealings with Gibraltar's decolonisation.

And the ICJ is clear on the issue:

'Furthermore, the subsequent development of International Law in regard to non-self-governing territories, as enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, made the principle of self-determination applicable to all of them.'

No mention of Spain's territorial integrity. LOL.

    Para 52 refers:

@6 Sorry, I didn't notice Gibraltar being a “protectorate”. At what point in time did Spain become a “united” kingdom? And what's with the treaty of utrecht? In your own words. Start by specifying WHICH treaty of utrecht. There are ELEVEN!
@7 Various provisions trump and negate the treaty of utrecht. UNCLOS, for one.
@8 I have to admit that I wish the British government would get off its arse. The Royal Navy's Gibraltar Squadron should be larger. It consists of 2 Scimitar class 24 tonne patrol boats. Plus some RHIBs. It SHOULD consist of something like 4 fully-armed 1,700 tonne River-class patrol vessels. And some Apache attack helicopters. And some artillery.

Was I right in hearing somewhere that La Linea wanted to join Gibraltar?

Gibraltar: If Spain keeps prodding the dormant lion will waking up. Gibraltar's forceful military armed with 3 peashooters, 2 mud pies and a water pistol held by 90 year old women will force Spain to surrender.

    What a load of diabtribe.

Unless I’m mistaken Andalusia IS spain. Therefore:

Spanish rep: whoever they choose from Andalusia
UK rep: whoever they choose from the UK
Gibraltar: whoever they choose from Gibraltar.

To me that still makes three!!!

The fuss these people are making just to talk about domestic and mundane issues because SOVEREIGNTY IS OFF THE MENU.

    Idiots.
