    Facts are..:
    1) Mid-term elections in Argentina are now over…
    2) The present Administration kept its quorum in the Senate…
    3) The present Administration increased its quorum in Congress…
    4) The present Administration got a renewed democratic mandate…
    5) To imply anything else is as futile as trying to demonstrate the squareness of the circle…

    6) The present administration will have finished the job of destroying a potentially great country by 2015. Possibly sooner.
    7) The present administration will see their personal wealth increase dramatically by 2015.

@1 I've never established your position in all of this.

    You come across as either:
    1. A member of the La Campora goon squad and have a gov't job that was handed to you that you don't qualify for.
    2. You sit at home and do nothing, and collect welfare on your gov't issued laptop.
    3. A foreigner that arbitrarily sides with any regime that makes you feel like you're “going against the system”, or you're just a poorly educated bat $#!7 crazy moron.

We (the working class of Argentina) are losing 40+ Million/Day. We knew Cristina's “model” would lead to catastrophic economic failure since the beginning. We knew the Kirchners were corrupt, and we are tired of criminals and incompetent police taking turns at adding to those grievances by threatening our safety. Tired of heavy taxation, lack of access to life saving pharmaceuticals, and watching my pay being diminished by inflation.

The vote was clearly agains The K regime. 70% of the voters chose someone else. My guess is the rats will begin to jump ship. She won't be able to control “the collation” as other try to secure a place within a new administration.
They all know everyone is going to be prosecuted as soon as CFK is out of office.
That's the way it works in banana republics.

@8 The Kirchener administration is the biggest assist to further Falkland Islands autonomy, the transformation of their political system or maybe future independence.

Without Kirchener the Islanders may not have tried so hard to stand on their own two feet, and are now

9/- taking control of their foreign policy, from the UK as a result.

Christine's government have been a gift in disguise for the Falkland Islanders and in a few years the icing on the cake for the islands and the UK would be the election of Mr Timerman as Argentine president.

Show me where they have taken control of Foreign Policy from the UK....
They are not allowed to conduct Foreign Policy...same as Gibraltar.....That's why Pigardo goes whining to the UK all the time....

    “Now taking” not “taken”.

And visiting half a dozen countries which included meeting with foreign parliamentarians as well as addressing foreign parliaments is clearly “taking control of their foreign policy”.

As with many other former British colonies, the process of independence is gradual. An example of this is Australia's creation by vote in 1901 and then it took almost 50 years to create its own citizenship. And it didn't even gain full independence until 1984.

The Falkland Islands and Gibraltar are indeed starting to take more control of their foreign affairs. And because the UK's and BOT's constitutions are partially convention, they can adjust to this reality.

Argenina has indeed done more under CFK to advance Falkland's independence than anyone else.

“Foreign affairs of the overseas territories are handled by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London. ”

Show me one example of the Falklands making their own foreign Policies.....
So they meet a few people and chat.....So what!
“Some territories maintain diplomatic officers in nearby countries for trade and immigration purposes.”

So what part of...“Foreign affairs of the overseas territories are handled by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London. ”...is not clear?

Taking....Taken....going to take......only when they want to declare Independence..

Gibraltar have ten times the population, a mature political system ....a rotund Minister of Pies and they still can't conduct their own foreign affairs........

Dany, BCRA spent U$100MM keeping the peso down yesterday. You don't have U$100MM to waste like that. Pretty soon you won't be able to pay for the fuel you need or even tomatoes and wheat.

    @12

OK technically the Falkland Islands are not completely in control of their foreign affairs but are moving in that direction, not away from it.

You cannot see this change and neither can Argentina but many are aware of it as opposed to being ignorant of it.

Chatting to a few people , is not what they were doing before. You seem to be unaware that these 'few' people will become a lot more.

If the UK was totally in control of foreign policy as you suggest, then they would not trust or allow the Islanders to talk to these 'few people'.

Their foreign policy is at this stage embrionic-which IS currently to talk to more people-it's happening and there is little now that Argentina can do to stop the train that they themselves, by shooting themselves about 5000 times in the foot , have set in motion.

My former assertion that they have taken control of their foreign policy is somewhat premature-thankfully Anglotino was more accurate:

    @9 “Now taking” not “taken”.

And visiting half a dozen countries which included meeting with foreign parliamentarians as well as addressing foreign parliaments is clearly “taking control of their foreign policy”.

If you cannot fathom the significance of this, you are in for a horrible surprise when in 20 years time, instead of the Argentine colonial control over the Islands predicted by Timerman (Mystic Meg ?)there is likely to be a more robust, more independent Islands resisting Argentina's imperialism.

What is so satisfying is that it's all thanks to Argentina, not actually the UK.

    Thanks Pete

Unsurprisingly A_Voice misses the point but doesn't let that get in his way. For someone who borders on OCD with the finer meaning of certain words, he just couldn't bring himself to see the extremely major difference between “now taking” and “taken”. But then again no one is surprised by this.

A_Voice is, as per usual, attemtping to obfuscate. Blind Freddie can see the more pronounced foreign presence the FIG has recently embarked upon. And even Spain complained about Gibraltar's recent trappings of a state.

Hahaha...let me just shorten your post a bit.....FIG have not made any changes to foreign policy as yet....because they can't.....
Who knows what the future may bring.....but to date......none!
UK to FIG.....“My way or the Highway.....you are my bitch and you will do as you are told until we say otherwise!”
    15
Hey Skip....Taking (Present)...Taken (Past) ...Going to take (Future)
    What don't I understand?
My Grammar was correct....if someone says they are Taking...I can ask what have they Taken....unless Aussie Grammar is different....
Still waiting for the example of the FIG making their own Foreign Policy...;-))))

    @A_Voice

Well I don’t know really if they have made some change in foreign policy because that will imply that FI is taking the role of UK. But what I’m sure is that these guys are making a lot of trips and expending a lot of money thanks to generous CaMoron.

In one year time, will be 3000 Islanders travelling in first class to Monaco, France, Vienna, Gibraltar, etc with the excuse to explain their cause to the world.

Colonialism has become expensive on these days I guess...

“As you said, your democracy is working, 70% of the votes were non- K”

And your understanding of what you read is obviously NOT working.

Those 70% represents the amount of voters in those districs compared to the total, national, amount.
Which isn't the same as the opposition getting 70% of the votes (which would mean they got ALL the votes in those districts).

    Don't bother thanking me.

I must say that I'm pleasantly surprised that CFK managed to keep her parliamentary majority and even gain one extra seat in the lower house. For me the most interesting thing is that the “experiment” continues. Will this ad-hock, improvised, Keynesian on steroids, statist economic model make it? Can a country print limitless amounts of cash and not bring on stagflation? Can a country manage to effectively increase manufacturing industry while at the same time it is virtually shut off from foreign credit, FDI, and has super protectionist trade policies? Can a country maintain the myriad of subsidies and at the same time have a respectable working federal budget? Will it keep its currency from crumbling? will corruption finally destroy the model?
Success for CFK is a long shot, but I will be watching closely. Good luck to the true believers in the FPV. You're gonna need it, and thanks for the “experiment”.

You are probably having a bit of a laugh I guess because I suppose you know that the USA prints the worlds reserve currency, right?
And everyone accepts it, right? Argentina is not the United States of America and what the USA does in fiscal terms, no country in the world can get away with.
This is what interests me about Argentina, can they tweak their model just enough to make it work long term. If they do, it will be the first country to do so successfully ever. Stay tuned I suppose.

Stevie's hatred and jealousy of the USA blinds his ability to understand what the USA represents to the World.
Never in the history of man has 1 country been so rich, powerful and influential.
There is no telling where this will lead but because it is in the World's interest to keep the status quo I don't see anything changing in any our lifetimes.
