You two are missing the point.

“Brazil’s Institutional Security Cabinet, which oversees ABIN, said that the operations cited in the Folha report “follow Brazilian law for the protection of national interests.”

Get it? If you follow your own national law and it's in your national interest, it's okay! How does it work? You do an intercept. Someone high up in the administration says it's okay because it's in the national interest. Not ”quite“ in accordance with the national law? Not a problem. Change the law. So Brazil officially sanctions espionage? If you think about it, this is quite funny. More and more will come out and, eventually, Snowden won't be welcome anywhere. Then he'll get kicked out of wherever he's hiding and the U.S. will pick him up. Can he find an uninhabited island that doesn't belong to anyone? Wouldn't really matter, would it? If it doesn't belong to anyone, there's no-one to ”protect” him, is there? How about Antarctica, Ed?

I'd definitely be keeping tabs on the French anywhere those wacky folk appear near a large explosion. I'm sure the Brazilians were aware of the fate of the Rainbow Warrior.

Not difficult for the Beazilian spies to spy on French spies, they can follow them, aren't they the ones wearing flat caps, full length raincoat and carrying garlic on a string, or is it onions?
