Problem with football players is they have to be, fed clothed and told their wonderful ( often ). Long after the footballer de jour is forgotten people will still be gazing at this painting and wondering what the hell was going on in Francis Bacon's head.

Bacon is artwork that you buy when you're utterly depressed and close to suicide. Might as well give the cash to a cat's home as you won't be enjoying the art for long.

What is this obsession you have for showing us videos of Brazils not so hi-tech. forces. We are not impressed by your non-military might.
A rather jingoistic song and some pretty pictures.
Keep to what you do best-carnival and bossa nova -and leave the military stuff to the big boys !

As to the paintings, someone has got more money than sense!

It would seem the Brazilian state doesn’t agree with you since a fair chunk of your Brazilian navy was built in Britain, including the 7 Niteroi-class frigates, the 3 type 22 frigates, the 2 round table class landing ships, the 3 Amazonas class patrol ships, the 4 River-class minesweepers and 2 of your Oceanographic research vessels.

Shit, when that dickheads Amazonian river boats have fought in as many engagements on the oceans of the world as the RN, he can talk about navy's.

Oh and if and when they do manage to get nuclear submarines to sea without melting, there will be only two navies of the world to show them how to drive, not fight them, one of them is the RN!

    Wonder who they will ask?

    “”Wonder who they will ask?“”

    The Chinese probably.

No need to be so antsy against Brazilian forces - they have a pretty tough time patrolling huge borders within pretty damn rugged territory... that aint a cakewalk and they could teach a few lessons.

They're an up and coming nation in many departments, dont take them lightly or abuse them for no reason other than jingoistic knee-jerk self-delusional aspirations to Empire gone.

“One day lad.. all this will be yours....”

The remarks are for Brasiliero's eyes. He continually bombards us with videos of Brazil's military might and technical achievements-mainly wishful thinking. Yes Brazil will probably become a major player on the world's scene in decades to come but it is not there yet.

As to “delusional aspirations to Empire gone”, how do you make this out. References to the Falklands ? Hardly an Empire . I can assure you that the last thing Britain wants is an Empire. We had one and got rid of it. It appears that there may be a few other countries - guess-who have aspirations in the field.

Brazilian forces having a tough time in the jungle-agreed.
How about this for a 30 year old English woman.

@3 I listen to some of this but started laughing too much when it mentioned 'heroic peoples'....
come on Brasileiro, give us the list then, of the friendly countries you have helped to liberate from evil oppression, or works of art, literature or technology you gave the world.
anything? Ok, football and some music, but oh, wait, you didn't invent football....

    @11&15- good call!
