For years the IMF turned a blind eye as Argentina doctored its inflation index and plumped up its numbers for economic growth. Then last February the fund steeled itself and censured the country, warning it to improve its statistics by September or face potential suspension or expulsion. I live in BA part of the year. At my local bakery prices have doubled in the past 2 year period. That is not 10% or even 20% inflation per year. It is closer to 40% and it seems to me that is about true for prices at all restaurants where I frequently dine.

Why is it that China thinks it is “The Middle Kingdom” and that any of their peasants are more worthy than anybody else on the planet?

What REALLY upsets me if the utter wastefulness of the exceptional economy Vasquez left to Pepe to the point where some hard working Uruguayo are reduced to the level of the handouts to the workshy of the much vaunted and poorly though out “Social Inclusion” programme of the present government.
Once Vasquez is back as President I do hope he can start correcting the errors of his predecessor.
