I have nothing against most Argentines and I have several friends who are Argentine. I am no fan of the Argentines who would like to see me and my family removed from my homeland but I am in no doubt that this is a minority view. You get deadbeats everywhere. :)

But, let me add: the british have the islands for approx. 300 years with approx. 3000 islanders living in such islands, for what? The fact that most british citizens don't have interest to reside in the islands means there was not sufficient interest form the UK goverment or any other foreign company to invest and develop such place ...and still there is not sufficient investment and enough population. Give up. You have the choice to reside in the UK rather than to waste your life living in such isolated frigid islands. Good night. :)

If your insurance does not cover treatment you will either have to pay before
Jan 22nd, 2014 - 07:06 am - Link - Report abuse 0leaving the hospital or within a month. Several of the larger private hospitals and health care groups, such as the British Hospital, offer their own health plan in which you can enrol. These health programs often offer more flexible payments,

Not sure but firstly, I don't think it is a propaganda stunt, I heard he was doing a documentary about his football career and his relationship with the UK. The Falklands segment was important to his story. Secondly, after the last incident I doubt very much that the FIG doesn't know exactly what they are doing and gave given permission for him to do it. It's a free country after all.

Jan 22nd, 2014 - 10:36 am - Link - Report abuse 0They were making an episode of an ESPN series which, I think, must be in it's 3rd or 4th season now. The show is called Capitals of Football. The Falklands war had two major impacts on Ossie's life. The publicly less well known one was 100 times worse for him than the well documented one about him having to leave England for a while during the war.
The reason for the visit was to record scenes from the Islands to help Mr Ardiles make his football documentary. After all right up until the Nasty ones in Argentina invaded our Country Mr Ardiles was playing football in the United Kingdom and as a result of this stupid period in 1982 he was no longer as popular in UK.
Jan 22nd, 2014 - 10:39 am - Link - Report abuse 0Sad because he was a very good player and just like most of us innocent ones was caught up in a political issue.
The Falkland Islands people will and always have shown compassion to everyone from all walks of life in their hour of need. That is what decent people do.
There are many of us who have no issues with the average Argentine man or woman and only has issues with their corrupted regime that runs their country and whom dictates to them how they should live.
Falkland Islanders would like to have a better relationship with Argentina but so long as that Government insists on our sovereignty that will sadly never happen. Now would be a good time for the leaders of Argentina to stop their ridiculous campaign against us and start treating us in the same way we look after their visitors.

Jan 22nd, 2014 - 11:52 am - Link - Report abuse 0No way could we just let Ossie die by the side of the road. I dare say old Tinka would be given a hand if he were to suffer the same fate on one of his secret missions testing the Islands defences. Always providing of course his insurance documents were to hand and could be verified with Lloyds of London.... in time.

Ok, Ok, The Falklands, Argieland and the UK will be brought together in one country. The Capital of the United country will be: London, the currency: UK Pound, the official language: English, the new country will be part of the United Kingdom. The problem of poverty and mismanagement of the rebel province will be dealt with by the UK government and implemented immediately to bring the poorest province to a better shape and finally there will be no more claims over the Falklands. In 5 years the whole of the UK will be one nation and one happy people! Problem solved.
