The suggestion that a stray sheep may have caused the road accident in the Falklands involving former Argentina and Tottenham Hotspur stars, Osvaldo “Ossie” Ardiles and Ricardo Villa was refuted on Tuesday by Ardiles’s son Federico in an interview with Mercopress in Stanley. Read full article

    Get well soon Ossie!
I always enjoyed watching him play, even though I support the arch-rivals of Spurs! He conducted himself well in England, a gentleman on or off the pitch, unlike most of today's petulant, spoilt 'superstars'!
Hope they take equally good care of you in B.A.

Very easily done. I've seen it happen a few times and I've had a few close calls myself. I wish all of them a full and speedy recovery.

We may be able to stop these problems from strong crosswinds in the next few years.

I've been talking with two of the MLAs about something which may prevent this. Cannot say much more at this stage for obvious reasons.

Hopefully the Islanders will support it and once we have the finance in place, work can begin. It might even provide several new businesses for the Falkland islanders and a lot of work for unemployed Brits too.

The MoD has quickly recalled its latest defensive tool, suicide sheep, to undergo further testing.

The sheep, specially bred and trained to detect the Spanish language, will stand obstinately in the path of any person or vehicle blocking their way. The highly intelligent and finely trained sheep then put on a moronic and placid expression to lull would be invaders into a false sense of security while awaiting the backup of their flock. When said flock arrived, enemy soldiers quickly find that they are unable to move after being hemmed in by the fluffy and docile animals.

Unfortunately a defective sheep mistook a Spanish accent for actual Spanish and responded accordingly.

The MoD cannot be contacted at this time and has refused previous requests for information.

The idea was said to be modelled on the ADF's creation of mutant koala bears to forestall a Japanese invasion during WW2. Known as 'drop bears', they have since escaped captivity and now cause constant chaos and fatalities throughout Australia's urban areas, most noticeably on unsuspecting tourists when dropping from trees.

You KNOW you are in the SOUTH ATLANTIC NEWS AGENCY, when the headline is

“STRAY SHEEP NOT TO BLAME FOR CAR ACCIDENT”

Or in New Zealand, Australia, and other desolate locales. Here in the EU we are on continental contiguous alliance of cosmopolitan cities, fast-speed trains, and severe social tension. But no sheep around.

Read these sites in the order I post:

Just to prove how much more relaxed and funny Aussies are to the French it would seem. Hey Narine? Australia can be desolate... but New Zealand? FFS some posters need to travel.

    @Britninja
Actually sharks with lasers are considered front line defense. In order to confuse would-be attackers with false information the idea was leaked to a Canadian actor in the mid 1990s and ended up in one of his films.

The MoD continues to deny their existence. Won't Argentina be surprised. LOL

    @14 Anglotino

I've also heard that the Penguins have been trained to swim up to Argentine ships, plant limpet mines and swim away to collect their reward of lots of fish. The 1st trial of this was last year when they successfully sank and Argentine ship in port, but sssh! keep that to yourself! ;D

There are also Regiments of Penguin machine gunners, who are protecting the beaches around the Falklands, and have been trained to recognise certain words and react accordingly, namely Argentina and Malvinas. They they open fire showing no mercy.

Of course, this has all been officially denied by the MoD too.

But it is comforting to know that should any Argentine forces survive the Commando Penguins, and the insidious Sheep, (maybe a few borrowed koala 'drop bears' from Australia), then they still have to face the British Military and the Falkland Islands Defence Force.

@16 Indeed. 5,000 SAS, Paras, Marines and Gurkhas. Marines are now well-known for shooting anything on sight. Lying down, half guts shot away, no legs. Shoot it anyway. Gurkhas have always been known for taking heads. Paras will use anything. As will the SAS. As long as the enemy is dead and eviscerated. Can't beat eviscerating an argie, or any other latam, for some real good fun. Is it possible to arrange evisceration but not immediate death? Evisceration followed by 4 hours of contemplating guts. Would it be possible watch grass sliding down your own intestines? Incidentally, Stevie, Brits prefer lamb. And properly tenderised latam children and babies. A rifle butt is a good “tenderiser”. 10, 20, 30 belts with a tenderiser and then it's on to the spit. Not dead? Will be soon! And there it is. Dog and fish food. What else are latams good for?

    No CT-SCAN?
    You see,
    in the year 2014...
the islanders don't have the funds (or a donation from
Conqueror) to have a CT-SCAN equipment.
BTW, I did not know the islanders loves these 2 argies!

    Ossie” Ardiles

Just don’t let the argentine government lawyers get hold of you,

They will try to prove that the Falkland sheep illegally attacked an argentine citizen,
And as such could be and act of wxx?

CFK demands action against Falkland sheep,
And asks South American countries to back her claim…lol

You trolls don't really get it do you? Most people who post here have nothing against the AR population in general, just dislike the crap government and their attempted bullying of a B.O.T; and their brain-dead sychophants, and the Pavlovian dogs that bark everytime the 'Malvinas' bell is rung to distract them from the economic hole that KFC is digging you deeper into....
And yes, considering the current state of the AR Navy we could probably just float a few sheep towards the mainland in order to gently nudge the so-called fleet into a watery grave if needed

    .....worst yet:
no one have donated a CT-SCAN to the poor islanders!

@25 Leave it, Clyde. “Stevie” now “thinks” we need it and its fellow tossers and ass-pokers.

Wouldn't be “nice” to get back to the days when one could have an intelligent, informed discussion about FACTS.

Unfortunately, we on the side of THE RIGHT were too good for the ignoramuses of latam. Everything they came up with, we'd prove was propaganda or just plain wrong.

They've claimed that the Falklands are theirs because of a papal bull. Shown to have been ignored at the time and since discredited by the papacy. They went for the Treaty of Tordesillas. Only to find that it had no more validity than the bull. (Convenient word that, isn't it?) In any event, when it came to South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, those islands were on the Portuguese side of the line that they kept redrawing.

Next came an argument based on the French “claim”. Except that the French never “claimed” more than the area of their settlement. Then came the Spanish “claim”, except that the Spanish only BOUGHT the French settlement. No evidence that the Spanish ever obtained “sovereignty”. In fact, when the Spanish tried to evict the British by military force, it lasted less than a year before the Spanish king had to give in and the British returned. And all their possessions were returned and compensation paid. Next was their “claim” that Britain abandoned the Falklands. Except it didn't. It evacuated its settlements. It left a plaque stating the British sovereignty. Strangely, a few years later, the Spanish did the same! And who went back to evict a gang of murderers and rapists? The British. They soon found that the argie “claim” was untenable.

Their “claim” that argieland “inherited” the Islands has no basis in international law. And Spain couldn't cede sovereignty because it didn't have it. And Spain didn't recognise argieland until at least 1860. And so with all their “arguments” destroyed, they've gone petty.

Best ignored. Especially self-important little twerps.
