Are there not political elite in the US, the UK, DE, or the EU, or all other countries for that matter, that do this same thing?

Perhaps I'm just overly cynical. Perhaps I should have more faith in the human race and her politicians.
It really doesn't matter in the end the gov't will hang the ones that get out of line and threaten the families until the new ones in charge have the money.
