    While I'm half expecting an outcry for the UK shadow-ministerizing the South Atlantic, I can't help but notice that the list of interests for the Shadow Minister of Defense doesn't include anything vaguely military-related?

    Let us hope that the FIG will bring the following to their attention . http://en.mercopress.com/2014/01/23/argentina-after-israeli-fighter-planes-concern-in-london-and-brasilia-says-defense-expert

    Does this now mean, that these politicians can and will be arrested, if they ,,at a future date ever go to Argentina,

    Does this now mean that CFK will be upset with the British government, and will now not be friends anymore...lol

    No need matey!!! They will do the usual, see the sights hob-nob with the FIG and then, for their evenings entertainment, argentine society will collapse and crumble in on itself.

    In fact the whole population of the Falklands are well placed to enjoy the show from where they are.

    @7 Yes, I agree. These democratically elected representatives visiting illegally occupied Argentine territory. Everyone knows that each time an Islander votes in a local election or someone with some clout visits the islands, a child is born in Argentina with autism. How can this be allowed to stand? I mean where ARE the interpol red notices? They've issued them for far smaller offenses. No warrants, no deportations. Just visitors to and from the islands. Such criminality for all to see.

    What in the world is a “Shadow Minister for Defense?” it sounds very sinister and cool at the same time.....

    @12 jwolf, The British have an entire shadow cabinet to go with the regular one. It sounds way cooler and more sinister than it is though. The shadow cabinet is essentially what the cabinet would look like if whichever party is in power lost the next election.
    The shadow ministers (being potentially their next bosses) get briefed in on things that they need to know by the civil service.

    So the Shadow Minister for Defense would (currently, while we have a Conservative/Liberal Democrat coalition government) be the Labour Party Defense spokesman.

    @13
    Thanks for that explanation. I''m an American and have never heard of such a thing. The Parliamentary government style fascinates and confuses me at the same time. But always eager to learn something new in that respect. Permit me though to continue with the more sinister yet cool image of a “Shadow Minister” in my head. it conjures up all kinds wonderful fantasy images to ponder. Sort of like the Argentine fantasy of a place called Malvinas Islands. :)
