The United States government has approved at least four licenses to export crude oil to Europe, for the first time in years, showing how companies are breaking through the limits of the export ban established in the 1970s, according to Reuters which learned about the fact from a Freedom of Information Act request. As I told Toby, Stevie, Think, etc etc etc. The USA's oil is going to change world dynamics and will get the USA rocking in the next decade.
As soon as the dark days of the Obama Administration are past people will start investing again.
USA companies are sitting on U$ 7 TRILLION waiting for him to leave.

Apple, Microsoft, Google, Phizer, Cisco, Oracle and Qualcomm make up almost half of the cash hording. Much of the holdings are overseas. However, it’s not Obama per se that they are punishing, it’s the current tax regulations. To suggest otherwise is siding with the trolls that American corporations do nothing in the interest of the people, which to an extent is true. Thought I do not believe that they are outright doing this, damaging the country to hurt Obama, they are stock piling and damaging the country because of the profit motive. Corporations, American or foreign own nothing to the country or people and never will, though there are corporations where people are first balanced with profits.

I never said they were punishing them, rightly so, just like me, I am sitting on cash waiting for a new administration that is friendly to business and not putting out 60 new regulations/day.

So I can wait and so can they, I really need an new employee but I'd rather pay a temp agency than hire one myself.
    It just makes sense.
It has nothing to so with punishing anyone it is solely risk/reward.

I use temp agencies when I need one. $100 an hour for a temp versus $30 an hour for a hired hand? That is your business sense? What industry are you in yankee? I think if you are waiting for a Republican President, I wouldn't hold your breath. Americans are not going to vote for corporate pimps to whore out the Whitehouse and they are not going to allow rookie imbeciles like Obama in again. Quote polls and opinions and I can counter them equally. The reality will unfold in November 2016. Perhaps by them corporations will not have the freedom of speech that humans have because if they do, they also need criminal culpability as well. Like the the criminal shit they get away with raping Soldiers, Marines, Airman and Sailors when they were in Iraq.

$100.hour for a temp? Are you hiring a temp or a prostitute? I pay $15-20/hr for a receptionist or assistant.
I am not as much party oriented as I you think I am.
I am conservative but my social views are kind of all over the place.

Are you throwing money a Pops?
The federal government mandates a nationwide minimum wage level of $7.25 per hour, ...
The median wage in the US per person is $26,695.
divided by 52...divided by 40 hours....$12.84 per hour....
you pay a hired hand...4 times the minimum and nearly 3 times the median...?

Accountemps......I don't know what your business is but I don't work for Walmart. Even general temp agencies for unskilled labor charge $40 and hour in Greater Boston for a receptionist or Admin Assistant who will only get paid $15-16 an hour. AND....our offices in NYC pay even higher.....BS someone else.
What is it you do yankee? Temp agencies are historically expansive....what a few numbers to call them?

    8
They may charge you $40 per hour and pay the temp $12...
    That's how agencies make money....
...and speaking of BS...everyone and some, knows the top 5% in the US push the median wage of the US to that figure...for the other 95% the median would be more like 10 bucks an hour or less.....
I have already published in a post on here the average house sale in the US for last year....and it was buttons....wouldn't even pay for a Mid-Terrace in the UK and I noticed you Yanks didn't even comment on it....
I'll remind you the average house sale in the UK was something like £230,000...convert it to dollars...and stop playing the wealthy Yanks...
That is a true reflection of what the average yankee is worth...

Great I am impressed. So tell me what do CPA's, CMA's, Controller's, Financial Analyst's, Cost Accountants and what not make? As I said, I am not working as a greeter in Walmart.....perhaps that is you career.......but the world needs them as well.
And by the way.....did you see me bitching about the agencies rates? I am really unsure of what your point is to me?

You are losing me Pops....I didn't say you were working in Walmart's...?
You implied it was normal to pay $100 per hour for a temp....It's not!!!
You implied it's normal to pay “the hired hand” $30 per hour...It's not
Statistics show...it's normal to pay $12 per hour....and I am saying that most Yanks don't even get that...
    That's my point!

    Feb 07th, 2014 - 12:29 pm - Link - Report abuse 0
  • Captain Poppy

It's normal to pay a “temp agency” 30 to 40 an hour for basic labor. Here is my “exact” words that you state I implied:

“I use temp agencies when I need one. $100 an hour for a temp versus $30 an hour for a hired hand?”

So am I talking about national averages, regional averages, state averages of my experience? Again......you are clumping retails cashiers with skilled laborers? No wonder they say......“figures don't lie but liars figure”. Stats are meaningless when they stand alone.

I means “my experience” Where is the inference that I apply as a normal rate?

  • yankeeboy

I use local temp agencies, they staff my reception desk and I pay $20/hr. Which is cheaper than me hiring the people myself. We have lots of little temp agencies where I live.
Whether you believe me or not is irrelevant. I have no reason to lie.
You seem a bit out of sorts lately.
And your language is getting out of hand with some of the posters!
    Are you okay?

Voice, People in the UK make far less and have much less disposable income than in the USA. Using the whole USA avg home sale is very deceiving. It is certainly not something that can be used as a comparable to the UK with such a small landmass. Look at where you have your 2nd house (snicker but I'll play along) you can buy a house there for 40-50K. Which is significantly less than I would pay for a garage space in my building. A more accurate comparison is taking one state like NY or MA and comparing it the whole UK.
BTW you'd be easier to believe if you stuck to subjects you knew something about. Are there any?

I am not saying I do not believe you yb....I am saying my experience and the temp staffing I do when I do use them does not make it a cheap or feasible for long term use. The worst of it is if I do like them and want to hire them, it's typically a headhunter fee of 30% of their annual salary.

I have family in healthcare, do you know the rate for a temp, or as they call them....locum tenens go for.....or travel nurses? As I said even an admin assistant that is proficient in Access and can do more than add and subtract in Excel ( pivots, vloopups, graphing, what if scenarios) costs 35 to 40 from a temp agency.

You don't like my language yb? Should I stop?

    14. No I don't care about your language its just not how you usually post. As you know I get my dander up now and again too.
I only hire assistants/clerks or receptionists I send accounting out. I run a very lean ship. Usually the temps are low skilled but I mainly need someone to sit there and greet people etc.

It's usually in the accounting/financial area that I need them and the rates suck. With all this being said, it's in no way endorsing Obama by any means because he is by far an incompetent President. But, we do have 3 more years left and I can't see businesses holding out because of him. If businesses are naturally expending, they are going to hire. My place has been expanding consistently for the last 6 years in double digits and building at least one new DC a year. We are constantly hiring.......broad labor skills though, not in my division.

Property in London is also driving up your avg.
It has always been higher than our highest priced cities. As it should. It is closer than NYC and a great place to have a 2nd house if you are a Russian Billionaire escaping Putin.

Nimrod my point was not to impress you. She your narrow mindedness put you onto a path thinking that others need to impress you. Impressing people is really only for people that are worth impressing. Liars do not make the cut.

But as a chartered accountant in London......he is a mere accountant here. His credentials does not pass the muster for a CPA here. My point was to ask him of costs in the UK versus here. He lived just outside of the city and said the costs are much cheaper here and wages better as well. But you do not care nor do I.

One thing I can say to you.....I have never said what I have, what I do not have, what I am getting or plan to get. I do not need to impress anyone for my well being.

Enjoy your place in the south of France. It's but one of many states in the EU. BTW....you're sad when you are frazzled.
