Weeks of drought and heat have hit Brazil's soy and corn production, but the agriculture ministry still predicted a record 2014 harvest. Corn production is set to total 75.5 million metric tons, down from a January estimate of 79 million, state food supply agency Conab said in its monthly report. Read full article

A record yield. No doubt, very good. But with it, returns to same old problem...lack of infrastructure to get it to the port of Santos, in the State of SP. Highways are inadequate( shitty, to be honest), the entrance to the port area is like a funnel, a real mess, causing truckers to form a queue (on the highway ) 30 km....they take a couple of days to offload their cargoes, chewing into their profit until there's none left....
This is the country that is spending dozens of billions of US$ on soccer stadiums to host the world cup, because there is absolutely nothing else that needs doing in this wonderful country, where we have the best highways in the world, the best educational system in the world ; one of the best public health systems in the world (Lula said so...so it MUST be true); no slums, no crime, no unemployment....Dilma (and Lula) will swear to it...

Prices in Chicago have been forecasted to be significantly lower than last years.

“Both South America and the U.S. had large soybean crops in 2013, resulting in some moderation in prices. However, on-going strong soybean demand from China will prevent a sharp build-up in inventories and has kept prices at generally high levels. Another large South American harvest is expected in 2014. A modest increase in acreage and a trend yield in the U.S. would result in a record large U.S. crop in 2014. If production unfolds as expected, inventories will expand during the 2014-15 marketing year, resulting in further price declines. An average farm price near $12.75 is expected for the 2013-14 marketing year and in the $11 to $12 range for the 2014-15 marketing year.”

    We're talking a 14% drop here.

Wonder why Brasileiro's #4 was removed.....perhaps he was offended when I said the were no slums in Brazil (oh sure !!!), and understood that I was saying where he lived didn't exist....

Jack I take it from your posts that your are Brazilian? Brassie as he is better known was always suspect as a Brazilian by many. He appeared long before you started posting. My take was that he is actually...TTT, Tobi, Truth Telling Troll, neu troll observer, John Paul III, good lord the names are endless. He was an Ghanan when the Libertad was seized. He is a teen living in Mendoza that never gets out.

    BTW what did he post...lol?

Provide the proof stevie? You can't even state where you live let alone prove anything that you post.

@7 Capt. Poppy....I am a naturalized Brazilian, and my base has been Brazil for quite a long time. There's no reason to hide that, besides, by my posts I would think that is now obvious. I can affirm, with all certainty that I know Brazil pretty well, probably better than most Brazilians, but that's not the point I want to make here, inview of Stevie's innacurate statement in #8. I have seen quite a bit of the world, have lived in other places besides Brazil, so I have seen enough to have a good idea how things are in other countries, based on personal experience and not on brainwashing, as seems to be the case with Stevie. Probably never left Uruguay, despite his English Aunt and other family connections to Spain and Turkey. His loss.
And as to the Brasileiro's post, later removed, almost certainly not worthwhile reading...unless for a good laugh.

    You're all monoliguals?

  • Captain Poppy

First off that is such a stupid comeback and second that is also something that you cannot prove. One thing that you consistently prove is that you stevie are an idiot when you retort arguments that someone is ”monoliguals.

  • Stevie

    But you ARE monolinguals.
    Besides, I was right, wasn't I?
He IS an expat, isn't he?

    Call it luck...

    ;)

@11...sure Stevie...all monolinguals ??? how d'you come to that conclusion, numbnuts ?? I suppose you think that outside of Uruguay and Argentina, only English is spoken.....maybe it's time you got off your ass and went to see what's outside your neighbourhood.

#13 stevie.......give me your telephone number and I will call you, then you can have or not have prove on whether I am a mono-lingual. Unless you have some proof on whether we are all mono-linguistic. If not, do us all a favor and stick your head back up your ass and blow more smoke.

    @13, Stevie...listen.....and t-r-y t-o u-n-d-e-r-s-t-a-n-d.....slow enough for you ?
The fact that I'm a naturalized Brazilian , does NOT make me an ex-pat.
You are NOT right. NOT even lucky. Simple as that.

    Monolingual.

    And expat.

    No doubt.

Jack I suggest if you are going to get through stevies brain......all caps and farther spacing. However......you'll have an easier time penetrating Ft. Knox reserve center........he's a mono-thinker.

And you are quite a philosopher, Captain. Poly-thoughts running through your evolved brain.

Sad thing your mouth and finger tips haven't kept up with your evolution, they seem to spit out same crap as ever...

@18...You're right....it's easier getting through to a brick wall.
Now Stevie, I'll try once again...Not monolingual...I speak and write 2 languages fluently, and 2 others, more or less. If by saying I'm an expat, you're trying to imply I don't currently live in the country I was born, then yes...so ? but just fyi, I was not born in a country where the main language is English......getting confused ?? leaves a lot of options, doesn't it ?
I've no reason to lie, so, what have you proved ?? Nada !!

  • Stevie

Yes, yes Jack... You are all multi-fluent and poly-thinking.

    Until you open your mouths.

    Never fails...

Stevie, yr#21 “You are all multi-fluent”......ALL ?? I'm speaking for myself, not for the others , as I don't know them personally... and in this 'forum', the language is English. If you don't like that , bail out !
And might be good to bear in mind - things aren't as you say just because you want them to be.

Nah, you are monolingual because you are.

Accident of birth, mock of nature or just an inherited incapacity of forming words into sentences...

Who knows, it could be many causes...

Jack you will have a more intellectual and reasonable debate with a wall than stevie......forgot about him. He is seeing the the end of the beginning of the end of the Bolivarian commie empire collapse. The Arabs had their spring........the latins will have their autumn. They failed to ask the USSR, Eastern Europe and China what happens when you oppress people. North Korea still gets away with it........and look at their success?

Stevie, you are an idiot ...because you are.
No accident of birth...my family had been living in the country where I was born, for 50 years...Now YOUR birth, that yes, was an accident....a punctured condom probably. If you can't win, next best solution : keep your mouth shut...that way we can at least give you the benefit of the doubt when someone calls you an imbecile...if you open your mouth, you just prove them right.
