Australia's Petrel Energy has confirmed the conventional oil reservoir potential of the San Gregorio and Cerrezuelo sandstones in Uruguay following detailed analysis of the Cardozo Chico core-hole samples. Petrel said that laboratory testing undertaken by Weatherford in Houston returned excellent permeability and porosity measurements. Read full article

    yeah, I noticed this too. Not sure exactly your focus of interest.
    However, You could try PanAmPost.com but it mainly concentrates on The Carribbean, Central Am. and the northern countries of South Am. (as the titles suggests!)
    It has news and well-informed opinion pieces at a much higher level than this site (all in English) but the banter isn't as much fun!
