The only way argie troops will be “regular” is if they take laxatives because they are under supported, lowly paid and badly trained because otherwise they would be a REAL threat to TMBOA. And she can’t have that!

Remember that despite your previous assertions, that life without a CT scanner is impossible, we revealed and you deadbeats acknowledged that our life expectancy is higher than that of an Argentine.
What do you mean by a decent airplane. The islander, despite its age, is the most ideal aircraft for what it does. If you mean for international flights then what is wrong with the A320 and A330. Again ideal for the routes our flights involve. If owning an aircraft is all that's important to you that is a dumb outlook. Tell me how many airlines are making a good profit at the moment. Certainly not your national carrier.

What better aircraft than the Islander do the Argentines manufacture?
I've seen Islanders (the aircraft) take off into a 55kt plus headwind, and land in worse conditions which would ground most aircraft-so what's your suggestion to replace it?
And airliners-the Falklands are supplied by up to date airliners operated by Lan Chile and the airlines contracted for the RAF airbridge have to be good.

How so exactly Paul ? Are we back to the wriggly tin roof argument again? Our house has a wriggly tin roof and it also has 4 bedrooms, is fully insulated, double glazed, centrally heated, has two bathrooms and a garage and does not stand out as anything special amongst the average houses in Stanley. It's on one third of an acre and I have to tell you that it has one hell of a bloody (almost finished) retaining wall!

everything is pretty homogeneous.
now, when you are talking about a big city, the situation is a lot more complex.
there are internal migration, migration from neighbouring countries, different social classes, different neighborhoods, etc.
anyway, guess you don´t know too much about city life, try to travel a bit more.

I live in a farmhouse that would beat most Argentine houses and looks very impressive from the outside-brick built, large, Staffordshire tiles on the roof, yet the interior is no doubt not as full as valuable items , furniture etc as Joe Bloggs has in his house.
Does that mean I live in a shanty because the interior isn't much to look at, or does the fact matter that if I put it on the market with the farmland surrounding it I would have no end of people beating down my door to pay a lot of money to buy it, because the outside looks good?

The civilian population of the Malvinas is, as I understand it, current around 3,000. With around 1,000 military personel that would mean that one in four of the total population is in the military. This ratio is much higher than that which existed in the UK during WWII.
