Does Argentina still have any boats afloat?

Or is it just the Navy that struggles to get out of port without tipping belly up and sinking down into the murk?

    Yes I can thank you.
That is why I said 'any' boats. Any boats at all. Even a kayak. ..
    and
'Or is it JUST the navy...'

It was a lighthearted comment on the general standards of Argentine seamanship proficiency, or rather the lack thereof.
Try re-reading very SLOWLY and CAREFULLY.

You really can't differentiate between the subtle nuances of the English language, can you Pablito?

Too bad we can't actually buy any decent seafood here...of course we don't need anything that is a good for us. Like seafood, blueberries, cranberries, fresh fruit and vegetables...potatoes with no worms in them, firm GREEN broccoli and etc....

I can confirm that the vegetables obtainable in BsAs are crap.

My Argentinean neighbour and his family have just been over for a few weeks and his lovely 91 YO mother is always bemoaning the lack of decent fresh food and really loves to go to the markets while she is here.

They are resigned to yet another round of trouble and this time they think their businesses will really suffer.

Lovely people led by self-centred, corrupt, cunts the same as Uruguay, Venezuela, etc., etc.

No seafood in Argentina? How can that be?

They have a huge coastline, and surely a well-developed fishing industry, don't they?

    Fruit and veg.?
Is ALL the arable land turned over to soy factory farms?

“there will be an Argentine pavilion in Boston and at least nine Argentine fishing and processing companies will be attending the show”.....
What the hell for ? do the Argies actually WANT to do business with the USA, Europe ?? or are they hoping to hook a few suckers from Africa ??
The funny thing is that many Trolls have expressed their desire that Argentina should isolate itself from the big satanic world - that just wants to screw them - and be self-sufficient....what happened to that ?? OOOH, just hot air, as usual..

The facts is that countries such as the UK and many other countries maintain diplomatic relations with Argentina means foreign countries are desperate to do business in argieland.

so funny these ignorants isleños who have never seen a vegetable, a plant or a tree in their lives, opine about the quality of argentinian vegetables.

of course, we not only have the best meat in the world, but also the best vegetables, fish and seafood of south america.

the fact that a friend of an ignorant isleño doesn´t know where to buy them here is another issue.

    desperate??
really? I think not! All first world countries have the choice of doing business with anyone they damn well please.
This is because they are not beholden by billion USD debt.
The UK/EEC etc doesen't 'need' Argentina any more than it 'needs' a hole in the head!
They already have food supplies in order. No beef? No Soy? They have multiple arrangements with more reliable countries.
    Argentina desperately needs help.
Why else is Crass-tina going to the Paris Club begging?

It's touching that you feel compelled to defend your “professor”, Axel, but you really are hopeless at it.

Everything you have written about us or accused us of, is based on very outdated stereotypes and indoctrination.

I assume you are still in school and living at home with no responsibilities yet.
It's obvious that none of your statements are based on life experience, personal enlightenment or travel - you just spout dogma.

It's understandable, but on spite of what other posters have shown you, you reject anything that conflicts with your limited world view.

Your posts are irrelevant, if not outrageously amusing.

See, the UK established diplomatic relations with a country that killed hundred of british soldiers.., the UK keeps saying argieland is financially broke without any hope of improvement...would YOU keep a relationship with a person that killed one you love and give financial help?

Paul, This is your immediate future.

Alvaro Villarueda starts his morning the same way every day — putting in a call to his friend who has a friend who works at a Caracas, Venezuela, supermarket.

Today, he's looking for sugar, and he's asking his friend if he knows if any shipments have arrived. As he talks on the phone, his wife Lisbeth Nello, is in the kitchen.

There are 10 mouths to feed every day in this family — five of them children. The two youngest are still in diapers.

“The things that are the scarcest are actually what we need the most,” Nello says. “Flour, cooking oil, butter, milk, diapers. I spent last week hunting for diapers everywhere. The situation is really tough for basic goods.”

agree that this government, more or less like the venezuelan, is doing a complete mess here.
but i hope we (not the govt) can avoid to reach the situation that venezuela is living.
in the end, both countries are completely different, and so their economies.

i guess inflantion rate will decrease because of a “enfriamiento de la economía”.
it will be as bad as a high inflation rate, but anyway...

right now the situation in several industries (construction, metalworking, automotive, etc) is of total uncertainty.

At some point Argentina is going to have to learn to play nice.

“Several of the country’s 30 biofuel plants are operating at a very low capacity. We will not be able to export any biofuel to the European Union that, at some times, accounted for up to 90 percent of all our biofuel exports.”
On top of the EU’s imposition of a 24.6 percent tariff on Argentina’s biofuel announced in November is a 6.5 percent duty resulting from Argentina’s having been left out of the General Preferential Tariff (GPT) system whereby its biofuel was duty-free, something that resulted in a total levy of 31 percent which leaves it “out of the market.”
CARBIO estimates that Argentine biodiesel exports could shrink nearly 40 percent as a consequence of the EU’s decision that Argentina is challenging before the World Trade Organization (WTO), a process which Castro said may mean being in conflict this year and next.

it seems many here have a completely distorted version of argentina.
they confuse country with government with politicians with ordinary people.
natural resources with economy with politics and whatever you want.
they cannot understand the complexities of any country, not only argentina.
