I hope that both the EU and Mercosur can accommodate the 'elephant in the woodpile'
or, as Brasil calls it, the 'strategic partner'.

A terminally geriatric economy of one partner cannot be allowed to hold back the best interests of the other 30 partners.

Probably best to wait for the Wicked Witch of the South to die. I was very upset to see that she had acquired a sprained ankle in her hotel room. I'd hoped that she'd broken her neck! I could have put the boot in that.

What is it with Brits and calling female leaders “witches”. Why are they so sexist - and medieval?

Maybe if the Brits had nore balanced social lives they would not be so frustrated.

The only problem is that Argentina is still not allowing good to be imported. So I doubt the EU will sign anything until that is resolved.
Brazil will just have to wait to drop them.
My guess is they'll unilaterally sign with the EU and since it is against the MercoSur agreement everyone other member will have to ignore it or see MS dissolve. I wonder if Paraguay will call them out?
    That would be interesting.
