I think it is pretty likely that the country doin' the job for the US's NSA is Great Britain - via its GCHQ.
This is necessary so the US Government can claim that it does not spy on its own people.
It is almost certainly a reciprocal arrangement.

Buy any technological equipment manufactured by companies Anglosphere is suicide.
It is necessary that the civilized world isolate the United States and England of any telecommunications engineering.
In that aspect Brazil has given the world a lesson.

@1 yep it i most likely the 5 eyes program, so they can keep it in the family. I feel so much safer with these assholes recording my calls.
Why do we have to fill out tax forms when these pricks have all the info already.

Well my humble opinion this is another shit like the Reagan “Star Wars” (SDI).

1- Fist it is not possible today to monitor all communication around the world, simple is a task that cannot be accomplished by a single country.

2- Supposing that that tech could be archived they have to record and store that huge amount of data that could be quite difficult.

3- Even archiving that that information has to be analysed and in the end by humans to be useful.

That will be such waste of time that if someone is planing a terrorist attack today by phone USAMEX will discover it in 20 years.

They cannot find a plane that disappeared in Malaysia and want to monitor all communication around the world? Ha ha

So only selective monitoring is possible as always was available.

Anyway a sophisticated technology have been developed to prevent that since long time ago...

'You don’t need to be an American to start a revolution in your country boy...'

Che did a good job as a foreign national in fomenting revolutions - eventually 'getting his' in Bolivia.
More recently, a number of US Presidents have fomented S.A. revolutions.
[You don't need to be European to start an American revolution].

... Still this minor confusion in the Northern States over the distinction between an American and a citizen of the USA.
