whatever happens next will be his responsibility,

those who think they can get away with hard power over soft power will do so,

“Mr Putin will be putting his own agenda forward”

Could be, but one wrong move now, one shot fired in the wrong direction......

Wars have been started for much less, Mr Putin would do well to remember that, before plunging Europe into a new dark age.

The rest of Europe will ignore this at their/our own cost, we can not afford to have another expansionist Russia in Europe.

Look Kosovo, was made independent by the West, against the Servian will, when Russia was too weak to resist the West. Nato bombed Servia killing more than 2000 innocent people. There are many cases of independence, or forced seccesions. Crimea had been the territory of Russia, which was illegally given to Ukraina by Krushichov. Now thanks to the powerful president Putin, Crimia has become part of Russia. Congrtulation to Crimia and Putin.
