Im sure 'el padre' also has some weigh in on this, along with the IMF, the Obamites, mercosur, Europe and then US private corporates tied in.
Too big a shockwave for too many big interests.
No need for new precedents shaking up the ocean.

    2. You do realize that Argentina has lost every single case all the way up to SCOTUS.
They will lose again, SCOTUS will not care what the Administration or IMF thinks may happen.
Everyone knows Argentina is a scofflaw and run by crazies. This never should have made it this far most sane entities would have negotiated and put it behind them a decade ago.

In Jamaica in 2004, a coalition of Rastafari movement groups argued that European countries formerly involved in the slave trade, should pay 72.5 billion pounds sterling to resettle 500,000 Jamaican Rastafarians in Africa.

They're just racking up the clicks too.

Argentina has friends in its litigation
Giving hope to a nation that has no intention of paying her debts, and thus will open the doors to all none paying nations, not to pay,

this, perhaps is one example that may well backfire if it was allowed to happen, and Argentina gets away without paying.

    just me..

Vesitge is that really your best argument and analogy....comparing the slave trade of yesterday to signed and binding contracts between a country begging for money and investors?

I do not think you understand the precedent that would be set for deadbeat debtors if SCOTUS overlooked basic contract law.

Argentina may never pay them back. However, they will never be able to affordably borrow money. But....that being said, I do think that when a new President is bought in Argentina, with some reasonable economic understanding, he will negotiate with Singer's group.

    Lets see...

If US courts ratify the previous ruling they will jeopardise all debt restructuring possible made under US law.

So billions of dollars will be lost for USAMEX based banks institutions.

And they have no way to make Argentina pay to the VF.

On the contrary if they rule in favour of Argentina, they will look weak and stupid as they already look like.

    Ha ha

It is very odd and I think the reason why most Rgs are so very unsuccessful outside of their own country.

    25. Dam, It has been shown, and is a fact that Argentina can not borrow internationally without settling with all bondholders.
BCRA funds are quickly being depleted by supporting the failing peso and fuel imports.
Exports of mfg goods are dropping rapidly
So my little monkey tell me what is your solution to this problem?
    Should Argentina go without fuel?
Should Argentina go without mfg imports?
Should they let the peso freefall?
Tell me oh wise monkey what's the solution to the Kmess?

    25 Damn

“The only Monkeys here are those funny creepy vultures. I think they should go to work! That will do them good, you never will get a penny from Argentina. So go and work... ”

    Damn,
The original shareholders, all 100% of them, DID work for their money, and foolishly LENT it to Argentina for the country to build industry and infrastructure.
Argentina AGREED TO PAY THE MONEY BACK, with interest, a BINDING CONTRACT with those lenders.

Since then, ARGENTINIANS HAVE POCKETED THE MONEY, not all Argentinians, just politicians and their friends - you know, what the K supporters and Peronists call the “cream” of your society.

MOST investors have only been promised 30% of the money they EARNED back, IF they ever see it at all.

The remaining shareholders DID NOT AGREE, and wanted FULL AMOUNT back.

I know which party is dishonourable and thieving!

    @yankeeBobo

The only one that has no idea how the real world works seems to be you...

1-Tell me please what nation or corporation or person in his sound judgement is going to hire US based financial institutions for restructuring debt when after paying billion in fees a simple insignificant judge can jeopardises all the work done because he is a friend of a couple of Vulture Funds?

    Answer?

None, because there is not “legal security” or “A Legal framework” to perform operations like this in USAMex anymore.

Do you understand de idea now?

So this is really a bad legal precedent for US restructuring debt business and all operations of these kind will go to other places. You name it...

2-If the supreme court has to over rule the decision of Griesa everyone will look like clowns in the USAMEX legal system and Argentina will emerge stronger as she has made prevail her legal posture.

So USAMEX legal system have created it own trap and that is the reason why they are delaying this to find a elegant way to get rid of this hot potato.

And your legal system has not the power or mean to force argentina to pay if she don't want.

So what ya gonna do Bobo?

    30. Insignificant judge? Obviously you have no idea how the USA courts work.
Your post confirms my previous post, Argentinians believe their own nutty propaganda and think every country works like the f'ed up mess of Argentina and then when they lose they are shocked.

Argentina has lost every case all the way up to SCOTUS.
They will lose if the case is heard. There are lots of people saying it won't be taken up. WHich means the last ruing stands.

You are right, as a country the USA gov't may not help a private individual collect but since most U$ transactions go through our country the NY courts judgements will prevent Argentina from ever seeing another penny from the USA financial system. I would guess as a country we'd still continue to block new loans from Int'l banks too and you can forget about a PC agreement.
I've said for a long time Argentina will need to settle before the hedge funds need the money.

    Tick Tock

BTW it looks like most families are going to have to work a little more than a week a month just to keep warm, clean and hydrated.
I guess there will be even more greasy mullets this winter.

    @ yankeeboy

Oh! Bobo on the contrary I know very well how USAMEX political and legal system works...

If you have money and have all corrupted politicians and judges well oiled you can prosecute even aliens from Mars even if that destroys financially USAMEX...

“You are right, as a country the USA gov't may not help a private individual collect but since most U$ transactions go through our country the NY courts judgements will prevent Argentina from ever seeing another penny from the USA financial system”

    And? What is the problem?

I believe in austerity and also that individuals and countries have to live by its own means...

No many well earned no spending and good cure for some close to 17 trillion dollars country debtor.
