The Kirchnerists dont know what to invent to chase Mingo and el Procer Yiojano... They have tried everything to put them in jail. Now they want to invent a case of selling a block at 30 million USD in the early 1990s... FFS!
Apr 03rd, 2014 - 11:44 am - Link - Report abuse 0Kirchner bought land at 96 pesos per hectar for himself and Lazaro Baez of Provincial land in Santa Cruz. Disgusting country
Look at Menem, CFK and see your future.
Apr 03rd, 2014 - 03:29 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@3 Well one of their people DID invest their money in a bag hidden in a office bathroom. But I'm not sure what the return was besides embarrassment of being so... tacky.

Apr 03rd, 2014 - 04:19 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I hope so... That is why they are concentrating many effort and influence in the Council of the Judiciary and having their own militant judges all over the place. They are preparing the base for their own opposition and power structure in the State in order to survive the post 2015 election
And, apparently, there are a lot of Argentines who see Menem as a great president.
Apr 03rd, 2014 - 06:57 pm - Link - Report abuse 0In the context of what came later and the country he recieved in 1989 I believe Menem was a fairly good president, but most of my respect goes to MingoCavallo
Apr 03rd, 2014 - 07:29 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Most Argentines view Menem as corrupt as Kirchner with and exception there were good times during his criminal spree. Mainly because of the peso pegged to the U$
Apr 03rd, 2014 - 09:11 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I believe that he did attempt to push Argentina in the right track into the world stage, modernization, State reduction and liberalization but he fell short of doing so. He was far less peronist and Statist minded than the Kirchners. He understood that this wasn't the 1940s anymore. IMOIt was a bit more than just the dollar pegg
Apr 03rd, 2014 - 09:58 pm - Link - Report abuse 0In the context of the 1990s things didn't look very well for the emerging countries in comparison to the low interest rates and commodity price boom that the following decade brought.
I think that eventually people will put things into perspective after he passes away like happaned with Alfonsin. But then of course almost any president sounds sane and relatevely good in the face of the Kirchners. Even Nestor's gov't starts to seem a far more balanced and down to earth than Cristina's.
By the late 1990s and early 2000's already in DLR's term there was some positive sings in the economy as the trade balance turned positive and the deficit was being reduced.
