Presumably its because, like self determination, freedom of speech is another item that she does not agree with

Oh no she believes in freedom of speech, as long as you agree with her. If you don't then you are labelled as a traitor. It's like her version of democracy. You can vote, as long as you vote for her.

    See it's so simple.

Of course, Argentina's leader has once again humiliated Argentina on the world stage, and by blocking this account she's basically signalling to the world that she's knows she told whopping great lies, and now they've been exposed, even to her own people.

But the truth will out, as they say.

Shows she has run out of things to drag up against Islanders. Every time her or her government make a stand against the Islanders it back fires so her only resource left to her is to shut her self in her box and try to ignore the truth.

The sort of thing you would expect a dictator to do anyway. Her and her regime is a world wide joke and one day long after she is no longer Argentina's leader she will start to realise just what a stupid prat she was .

By blocking the site she is cutting her nose of to spite her own face. Mind you that would not enhance her looks either.

In other news...on a farm in the Republic of Ireland a Geep has been born...a cross between a sheep and a goat...which solves the old conundrum of not being able to tell them apart...a bit like penguins and nukes.

Cant you all see that Penguin pictures are offensive? CFK only has to see one and suddenly it brings on a series of 1982 flashbacks. Why dont we have a bit of fun and send Mrs K lots of McVitee Penguin biscuits in the post. Maybe we can bring on a mental breakdown or 3. Though how we could tell if we succeeded or not might be a bit tricky since it's difficult to tell what passes for sanity in the woman.

WHY SHOULD WE APOLOGIES FOR THIS?.
I wasn't sorprised when i read in this article the fact that many argentines apologised for the president's reaction, in fact, i have always said that this country is full of sepoys. C. f.k's reaction was arguable, but respectable, because she can't let any idiot mocks her in such a delicated cause, anyway, if i were the president, i answered them with the pictures that joined timerman's denounce of militarization in the south atlantic at the u. n., where there weren't pinguins exactly, in fact, search it in google.
Being detractor of any governmet, is something absolutly respectable, necesary and legitimate, however, there is a very big difference between being detractor, and taking the side of the enemy in a conflict, and this is something that usually happens in this website, with some of the argentines who post their opinions here, who often side britain in this conflict, and side the vultures, in the problem that we have with our defaulted debt.
What those sepoys must understand, is that our claim for the islands, and the lack of application of self determination aren't kirchnerism's caprices, due to our claim is a constitutional obligation, beside, if they investigated deeply, they would realize that the application of that right is very arguable, because of the fact that beyond what the charter of the u. n. says in relation to self determination and it's application, this cause has always been considered like a special case by the decolonization committe since 1965. On the other hand, public international right not always applies self determination for absolutly all the cases, under any circunstance.
I have no doubt that many politicians in this country have much better ideas than kircknerism, in order to achieve that britain respects u. n.'s resolutions, and resume the negotiations with arg., however, most our politicians side britain in this conflict, because they aren't sepoys.

''this cause has always been considered like a special case by the decolonization committe since 1965.''
No, it hasn't. Go and read the proceedings of any meeting of the committee. They all name the Falkland Islands as one of the territories still working towards decolonisation. No distinctions, no 'special case'. Just decolonisation.
Whole you're there, have a look at the means by which such a territory may be decolonised.
Being taken over by a hostile foreign power isn't there, I'll tell you that for nothing.

Oh and your leader deserves mockery. She told an outright lie. She said there were nuclear weapons on the Falklands threatening all of South America. She didn't have a shred of evidence, because there are none.
How can you call anyone who mocks her for this a 'sepoy'? If she makes herself look stupid over this, it doesn't advance your cause at all. If you were any kind of patriotic Argentine, you'd be trying to get her to start talking sense instead of gibberish instead of trying to stifle free speech.

Sorry, i didn't express my self correctly in the last two lines of my comment 26, what i wanted to say, is that most our politicians don't side britain in this conflict, beyond whether they agree or not on the way that kirchnerism has handled this question, because they aren't sepoys.

MONTY69: If you want evidences, search in google the denounce that timerman presented at the u. n. 2 years ago, where you'll see the pictures of his denounce, and trust me, you won't find pinguins exactly. Beside, read the article published in this website, about c. f. k's denounce, where she told about the militarization in the islands, but if you search it in you tube, you'll find the numbers of it.

    So... Britain is the “enemy”??

    Now we know.
Thanks for being so forthright, for a change.

    That explains your actions.

Question: What has Britain done, specifically, that you define them as an enemy?

And who exactly, are the “Sepoys”, anyone who doesn't take CFK's view or state she's lying, and might confirm that an opposing view is the truth?

Please specify. You are very sure they exist - surely you know what they are.

She is behaving like a whining little school kid, you know ?? “Talk to the hand 'cos the face ain't listening” She is not worthy of hold her office. “many Argentines” know what she is like and are ASHAMED to have her as the voice of their nation. These are not “sepoys” as you like to call them, if by “sepoys” you mean “Clear thinkers”, then argentina could well do with more “sepoys”.

You really are a weapons grade idiot if you think that this little stunt is going to win over the Falkland Islanders, make them fall into your arms like long lost brothers and sisters.

This is just another reason ( on a long list ) of why they don't want to be governed by argentina. This is not what happens in a civilized country, but then again, this being argentina we are talking about, what can you expect??

I would welcome this collaboration because what the Chagossians want and what the Argentines want are two entirely different things and as a result their message will become blurred. Argentina cannot with any credibility support the self-determination of a handful of Chagossians to live in peace on islands they believe to be their own, yet deny this right to the Falkland Islanders.

The two things do not go together at all. In Argentina's quest to latch on to literally anything they think may help them in their ill-gotten goal, their 'cause' just sounds more and more confused.

    1) there is a lot of freedom of expression in Arg. Or didnt a woman antik write a book probrit and proclarin in Arg (I saw her pic with her parents buying the book, they were 3 or 4)? also you can read prok media like the andanzas of lovely Maximo by prok S. Russo. Its two ways.
every news appeared in our media, but with differents points of view acccording to the interests of the media.
while following crimeas news on internet, I didnt see in the majority of the media of western countries the full comments of for ex the minister of Russia. there is some kind of filter, perhaps auto filter that only says what is convenient. I saw it and I read it.
    2) Uk is a nato country, so yes, there is a nato militar base in Malvinas, territory in dispute. And I suppose there are more than penguins...perhaps you would like to show us ...

The C24 started describing the Falklands as a Special Colonial situation in 1984. The Fourth Committee did not adopt that part of the C24's resolution and in fact after 1985 the UNGA resolutions specific to the Falklands ceased mentioning compliance with anything except the UN Charter. The UNGA has not issued a resolution specific to the Falklands since 1988.
The C24 however does keep issuing more or less the same draft resolution, which is ignored by the Fourth Committee.

What is more, the C24 draft resolution, despite being drafted by Argentina's cronies, calls for no more than dialogue and peaceful settlement, since all concerned know full well that the real Argentine agenda stands no chance of getting past the GA. The whole thing is just another sideshow for those among the domestic audience dumb enough to fall for it.

    Fully agree with you.
One point is that for a few years, I have never 'got round' to determining exactly which, the C24 actually put out 'resolutions', they are back now to calling them 'draft resolutions'. That however has not stopped RGland claiming to the Fourth Committee that they are in fact UNGA resolutions.
    http://webtv.un.org/meetings-events/general-assembly/main-committees/4th-committee/watch/fourth-committee-8th-meeting-68th-general-assembly/2743597868001#full-text

Spain claims the same thing about Gib. if you listen to it. Then both RGland and Spain claim that UNGA resolution 590 forbids the C24 from visiting territories where there is a sovereignty dispute. It does no such thing!
Even today the BA Herald claimed that the UNGA made annual resolutions calling for negotiations:
    http://webtv.un.org/meetings-events/general-assembly/main-committees/4th-committee/watch/fourth-committee-8th-meeting-68th-general-assembly/2743597868001#full-text

    62 Marcos ???

Not sure what you wanted to accomplish, there.

Snr. Betts spoke for over 3 minutes in slow ponderous Spanish.

No reason given for leaving, but he did say he felt he was Argentinian, and he seemed resentful that as an Islander, he was not considered a citizen of the UK, at least up until 1982.

    1982:
One man left, requesting Argentine citizenship.

2,999 stayed, and were very happy to be embraced as British.

Now, Betts is a paid political pawn, trotted out for the odd interview, like this.

Hmmm, when Cristina goes, do you think his small stipend will go with her?

@66 colony's are so last century and are essentially obsolete. the UK does don't consider herself to have any now. Argentina was founded on the blood of the natives

The UK will never give up the rights of the islands and territory's it control's and the world should accept it

better to be a citizen of the UK then of Argentina, less corruption and more freedom

    Pablo Cedron,

CFK uses Tweets for Anti-Brit propaganda, then blocks Twitter from the Islanders.

CFK certainly has a perfect understanding of the power of the media.

Her control of Argentine Sports and News media, her “media gag law” - Argentina is going the way of Venezuela in this way too, as well as economically.

    Pablo,

“What is more, the C24 draft resolution, despite being drafted by Argentina's cronies, calls for no more than dialogue and peaceful settlement”

And we all know that there are only two ways to fairly reach a peaceful settlement:

    1) Argentina takes the case to the ICJ.
This won't happen, because the facts are not in Argentina's favour. They were never the legitimate holders of sovereignty, and have twice (1833 and 1982) attempted to usurp sovereignty, among others pointed out on these pages.

Argentina has also, when faced with a fair verdict not in their favour, unustifiably declared that decision “null and void” and refused to abide by the ruling. Can they really be trusted not to do the same thing again?

    2) Argentina withdraws their claim to the Falklands and removes their objections to the removal of the Falklands from the C24 list.

Again, given the fact that Argentina has no claim to the islands, this is a fair and equitable solution. Which is why they'll never agree.

Perhaps Cristina has blocked islander's comments because she is offended by the typical foul-mouthed and ignorant tenor of their messages. Here's an example from an earlier post to this article. Read it imagining that the comments are directed to you personally and then decide if you would like to continue reading messages from these people:

You're a gaping arse with his head up it. Probably cock down throat as well. Now, why don't you just fuck off forever? You don't have a brain. Nothing you say is of any worth. You couldn't “debate” to save your life. Which would be a good thing. Your immolation next week is much hoped for. It is difficult to conceive of a bigger joke. But that's because you write so much garbage. Try limiting yourself to 10 words or less. Being, as I understand it, an argie “teacher” you don't have the ability to “debate” with “people”. Back to your favourite pastime. Out back and “debate” with the ram while it's shagging you. Or try it with a bull. You too can have mad cow disease and be shot!

In civilized places, children are punished for using this sort of language and so learn not to embarrass themselves with it as adults.

@53 CaptainSilver. I think she must be talking about a submarine equipped with nuclear suicide penguins.

Either that or she somehow expects a submarine with 21 inch torpedo tubes to be fire an 83 inch diameter missile, which is quite good going even for the legend that is ArgentinaMaths.

In fact, given that a UGM-133 Trident missile is twice as long and nearly four times the diameter of the torpedoes carried by British submarines, it does beg the question - is there actually a hatch on the submarine big enough to fit?

    I think not...

I agree with you on the use of extremely insulting and profane language.
The comments start off on a political level and then end up as an insulting slanging match
I wonder how many people would say these things to to your face,
However, even with my very rudimentary knowledge of Spanish there seems plenty of this abuse coming from Argentine bloggers.

@75 Heck, RUSSIA is a NATO Partner for Peace Nation! (So is Ukraine.) SPECTRE and North Korea are next. Argentina is a “major non-NATO Ally”. So is Australia and New Zealand. It's not the hardest club to break into.

@76 I think it was Glenn Greenwald who half-heartedly lamented once “how could you act in good faith with Goodwin's Law when the people you are talking to are Nazis.” In his case they were mostly mainstream opponents to his views. But really, he has no idea. He never talked to the Malvanistas and yes, the Malvanazis, here. The level of dehumanization directed at the islanders, the need to drop a jackboot on their faces, their own denialism with respect to their Junta and Colonialism and expansion in to First Nation territory, racism and absolute unrepentant fascism is jaw-dropping. ~42 million conditioned to hate 2-3 thousand and see their involuntary subjugation as a conduit to fulfillment has clear and ugly historical precedents. Sick. In the face of that, bewailing the lack of civility like @72 is does brings new meaning to the word Chutzpah.

As for CFK's Twitter Tantrum, it's further proof that the Malvanistas are incredibly gullble suckers thinking that their government is actually interested in dealing with that the Islands let alone acquiring them. They have no interest in talking or hearing from the people they pretend to want to rule. They have no credible plan for gaining the islands having vacated all of the proper venues where sovereignty can be legally adjudicated (2065+ICJ). They run like scared girls when confronted with the thought of being in the same room with them for 2065-compliant talks when the UK sets things up like they did in last February, and most importantly have no plan to administer a remote set of islands filled with people who have the best reasons possible NOT to like them, NOT to trust them, NOT to want them there, do well by themselves as it is, and have made their views crystal clear. Pathetic.

Uk is a nato country, so yes, there is a nato militar base in Malvinas,

A technical point here. I don't know whether an UK base also constitutes a NATO base allowing unfettered use of it's facilities.

In the West of Scotland we have two NATO designated refuelling bases for warships. RAF Machrihanish was declared a NATO base and used by USN Seals for training and also SR71 “spy” flights. The Dutch, German and Norwegian maritime air wings used it regularly.
Our other two airfields at Lossiemouth and Leuchars host NATO members aircraft and non members such as France and Sweden.A NATO base can be used by all NATO members by right.
Turkey and Greece are both NATO members BUT forbid the use of their bases to each other.

Mt Pleasant is used by the RAF but whether it is available to other NATO members by right, I cannot say. Does anybody know if any other NATO forces have used the facilities ?

Well if it is a NATO base the Argentines can look forward to many visitors to the South Atlantic-but the truth will, not be as exciting.

If CFK actually had any intelligence in her head and the ability to counter political arguments , she could have countered the twitter posts, but her blocking of Islanders bears similarities to Adolf Hitler's last days in his bunker, unable to confront his own people or the Soviets.

But of course she doesn't do interviews or perform any political exercise that shows she cannot counter any argument except by decree.

It just shows how frightened the Argentines are of a few Islanders and their ability to argue back-any decent politician with good arguments for their cause would be able to argue their case against Falklanders, but instead the Argentines are clearly frightened by the thought of talking to an Islander.

By blocking off the Islanders, CFK is putting another hurdle against speaking with the Islanders which is playing exactly into their hands.

“If CFK actually had any intelligence in her head ....”

You see what you did there?

I fear that Satan himself may be skating to work before “CFK” and “intelligence” are mentioned in the same sentence again........

You play the hand you are dealt, in CFK case, it's being an idiot ALL the time on the international stage...

Where as all the Falkland Islanders have to do is:-

“Softy, softy catchee monkey” and just sit back and watch as CFK digs her own grave and then lies in it.

As you said, all this confrontation, all this bluster........ she is doing all of the work and the Falkland Islanders are getting all the benefit so yeah, she is playing right into their hands... she is just too stupid, too blind and too full of hate to see what she is doing.

I have to concur-CFK has no chance of replicating Hitler-in fact rather than her pugilistic pretensions in 'charming' the Islanders she appears to be pulling her own country down the gurgler-and no bunker for her-a nice bolt hole will have been arranged-and I bet it won't be Patagonia where Maximo is causing a food shortage.
