If you were brazilian you would know that brazilians themselves use the word. In fact, it was created in Brasil.

Since you're not, you have to google it and find that the Portuguese use it too.

Thanks, Troy. That was an easy one.

He is probably not argentinian too, since they use the word as BRs do (they borrowed it from them), but mostly as an insult/derrogatory term like “peruca” for peruvians, “chilote” for chileans or “bolita” for bolivians.
