A lousy 1.6% inflation year over year!

Look how much better Argentina is performing. At least 9.8% in the first three months of 2014 alone, if INDEC is to be trusted.

The UK will never be able to outperform Argentina!!!

We can hopefully only get stronger, better wealthier,
we could do even better, with a better government with a backbone,

    still,
we have what we have, and must live with it, until 2015..

    @3
Less than 2% inflation, can you even comprehend what that must be like?

    In the meantime

    Paul

Surely your pea-brain must realise that a nations “poverty-line” is relative to others in that nation. It is not an international standard.

95% of Argentines would fall below the UK poverty line....and virtually no UK citizen below the Argentine poverty line.

Inflation is the greatest wealth destroyer for poor people. Loving below a poverty line with 1.6% inflation is paradise compared to 30%.

Or is it now 40%? Seems INDEC still can't get a rate people believe in.

the imbeciles here think that the definition of extreme poverty is different for britain...
they dont have anything to eat, they need food banks throughout the uk, but they think they are rich.

the uk is the 3rd world country of europe, only the brainwashed halfwits of this site cannot recognize it.

“The signs are that this fight will be lost – and not simply because of the depressed state of our economy. More worrying are the indications that Britain is ceasing to be a developed economy and is now on course to swap places with one of the emerging economic giants.”

“Britain’s labour market is a mess – another sign of a relegation candidate. Many native workers, considered too unproductive and poorly trained to be of use, are paid beer money in the form of benefits to keep them quiet, while better qualified foreigners are recruited instead.”

#10 Every country has things to improve economically, and yes there might be some people who need more food in every country, UK and Argentina included. But if you seriously think that UK has more problems than Argentina you are batshit dumb.

I'd prefer to live in poverty in the UK than Argentina.

First the UK doesn't lie about its poverty unlike Argentina.

Secondly, Argentina suffers the UK's annual inflation in a single fortnight. It doesn't matter how Paulcedron tries to spin it, the Argentine government is NOT indexing benefits on a weekly basis.

    imbecile 12
when you are a homeless and you dont have a sh*t to eat, it is the same to live here, in england and wherever you want.
and as far as i know cameron is not the best option to tackle poverty.

“Under David Cameron’s child poverty is rising not falling. And the government’s failure to tackle child poverty leads to kids freezing in the winter because they don’t have a coat or arriving at school hungry because they haven’t eaten breakfast.”

the uk has the same kind of problems than the 3rd world countries, argentina included.

Calling me names doesn't change the facts paulcedron.

In the UK the government supports you. It doesn't matter how hard you twist and turn, the Argentine government cannot support people when there is 30-40% inflation.

It is impossible. Children in the UK may go to school hungry, but they go to school. They are not out at traffic lights begging.

For every problem or issue in the UK that you highlight, the same is 10 times worse in Argentina.

    And you know it.

As is continually highlighted on here by many Argentineans, the UK has been in recession and Argentina has had a decade of booming economic growth.

And still the problems are worse in Argentina.

Post as many quotes and newspaper articles as you want because in Argentina your own eyes see the poverty. Unless you are so immune to it that you no longer do.

I wonder if “paulcedron” is the old “Vargas”. Although he couldn't spell. It should have been “Vargarse”. But let's see. At 3 he quotes a “trussel trust” press release. That contains information that has no basis in FACT. Simple question to answer for yourselves. If you went to a “normal” supermarket and were asked to pay £2.50 for a pack of 4 cod fillets, but could go to a “foodbank” and, with no questions asked, could get the same product, but a little older, for NOTHING, which would you choose? Trussel Trust rejects this. But an independent food bank says that it's the way it works. Food banks - free food for scroungers. wonder how Trussel Trust makes its money?

And look at this @8. “the uk is the 3rd world country of europe”. Except that it has the highest rate of growth and the lowest inflation. That wage rises are beginning to exceed inflation. That more jobs are being created and unemployment is falling. That “benefit scroungers” are being forced to find work, and are doing so. Amazing!
And look at this @13. “as far as i know cameron is not the best option to tackle poverty”. Well, of course not. Of course, it's not just Cameron. Osborne and Duncan Smith as well. They have an unpopular approach that wouldn't go down too well in argieland. “Get up off your fat lazy arse and work”. On the other hand, if you're in argieland, it's “We'll be holding more elections. A fifty peso ”food bag (small)“ for your vote”. Or is it still 50 dollars? Really? These days, for 50 honest American dollars, you could probably buy Buenos Aires. If you wanted the shitheap. Buenos Aires is probably the best site I've seen for redevelopment. Flatten the whole place, exterminate the rats and start again. With regular fumigation.
